I gazed out the window, imagining the excitement of today's camp activities. My son's eagerness had been palpable, and I couldn't wait to hear about his adventures. As I opened the curtains, sunlight flooded the room, and a gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh air.
Just then, I spotted my son in the distance. He emerged from a car, the designated driver dropping him off. The car door closed, and the vehicle pulled away. I swiftly moved to the door, eager to greet him.
I flung open the door, my smile wide. “Hey, sweetie! How was your day at camp?”
Charles' beaming face told me everything I needed to know. His eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Mom, it was amazing!” he exclaimed.
I ushered him inside, eager to hear every detail. “Tell me all about it,” I said, embracing him tightly.
“Mom, you won’t believe what happened today!” Charles began, his voice bubbling with enthusiasm.
