Chapter 16: Unspoken Words
Liam sat in his room, staring at the email notification on his phone. It was from the school, confirming his participation in the upcoming talent show. His fingers trembled as he reread it. Maya had been right—he needed to push himself—but the fear of performing in front of a crowd was suffocating. He had never done anything like this before.
A message popped up on his screen.
Maya: You're going to be amazing. I believe in you.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. If only he believed in himself as much as she did.
Meanwhile, Maya was dealing with her own struggles. The environmental club had hit a roadblock with the administration, and her frustration was mounting. "They keep saying they'll consider our recycling proposal, but nothing changes!" she vented to Chloe over lunch.
"Maybe you should go bigger," Chloe suggested. "Make it so they can't ignore you."
Maya frowned, considering it. Maybe a school-wide petition? A peaceful protest? Something that would finally force the school to listen.
As she brainstormed, her thoughts drifted to Liam. She knew he was nervous about the talent show, but she also knew he had something special. She just had to convince him of it.
