Chapter 15: Bait

Karl was more than happy to leave the party midway, and it would have been better if it wasn't for the murder.

One kilometer outside the city, the victim whose life force was drained by unknown means fell in the grass, and the passerby who called the police was taking notes nearby.

The identity of the deceased has been confirmed.

It was Ham who came to the party!

Seeing the police officer he had dealt with a few days ago die in the wilderness, even though Karl was indifferent, he couldn't help but feel angry in his heart, and his face was extremely ugly.

"The same method, the murderer should be the same person."

Dinah's beautiful eyes were murderous, and she said coldly: "The previous victims were all women, and pure virgins. Ham is the only exception."

"Could it be that Ham discovered something, so the murderer killed him to silence?" Kerry was also there today and guessed.

Karl didn't say a word.

If the murderer dared to kill the police, he would dare to kill the inspector. He always cherished his life. Although he was angry, he didn't want to intervene rashly.

"Yeah."

Dinah nodded and asked: "Did Ham come to the party alone today?"

"No." Kerry looked strange: "Ham's colleagues said that he has been very close to Mrs. Anne recently. They agreed to attend the party together and even boasted about it in front of his colleagues."

"Mrs. Anne?" Dinah frowned.

The background of this noble lady is very complicated. Even if it is her, it is not easy to provoke her unless necessary.

But how did Ham get in touch with Mrs. Anne?

Was it for investigating the case?

Or something else?

Thinking about it, she looked at Karl who was doing nothing on the side, and suddenly spoke as if she had thought of something:

"Karl!"

"Sir." Karl came back to his senses.

"Help me get something." Dinah took out a key from her body: "The address is No. 17 Safi Street. Give the key to the owner of the room and he will give the things to you. Remember to bring it to me tomorrow."

"You don't want to stay here anyway, do you?"

"Uh..." Karl laughed dryly, looked up at the sky that was beginning to darken, and reached out to take the key: "I promise to complete the task!"

"Yes."

Dinah nodded, watching Karl's back away, her beautiful eyes slowly narrowed.

It was approaching night.

The sky was already dark.

The old lady carried a kerosene lamp and used the dim light to signal Karl to take the package on the table away.

"These are the old clothes left by Dinah. I thought she didn't want them anymore and was going to throw them away."

"Take them away, take them away."

Old clothes?

Is this treating him as a servant running errands?

Karl shook his head speechlessly, put away his things and said goodbye and left.

The crescent moon hung in the sky, casting a faint halo, and was blocked by a layer of fog above the city.

'I heard that a coal-fired factory was built in the north city. These mists are all discharged from the factory. Such a big pollution has been caused in just a few months. '

"Destroying the environment..."

'Could it be that this world will also usher in an industrial revolution? '

Karl looked up at the sky, letting his thoughts diverge, and suddenly stopped and drew the dagger at his waist.

He didn't bring a broadsword to the banquet today, but only a close-fitting dagger.

"Who's there?"

Looking at the darkness in front of him, Karl's face was cold: "Come out!"

"Huh?"

Shadows swayed in the dark alley, and two figures walked out side by side. One of them said in surprise:

"Such a keen perception, you can actually find us."

"Who are you?"

Karl's eyes narrowed, and the special induction after practicing the poisonous wolf breathing method made his skin tense.

Killing intent!

Danger!

The person who comes is not friendly!

But he didn't offend anyone during this period of time, why would someone target him?

"What for?"

The taller and stronger man sneered at the words, took two steps forward, paused his gaze on the dagger in Karl's hand, and said: "Put down the package on you."

Package?

Karl raised his eyebrows.

Is it for Dinah?

"Okay."

Taking a step back, Karl said: "I'll put down the package, and then we won't bother each other."

"Not bad, I like people like you who know what's good for them." The taller and stronger man smiled and nodded, expressing his satisfaction.

"Put down the things, you can leave."

"Wait a minute!"

Just as Karl put down the package and was about to leave, the other man suddenly said.

"You can only leave after being searched!"

"That's right."

The taller and stronger man nodded: "If the key thing is hidden on the body, we will have worked in vain. Please take off your clothes, friend."

"Don't go too far." Karl's face darkened.

"Too far?" The other party said impatiently: "Take it off when I tell you to. Why are you talking so much nonsense?"

And the next moment, the man moved.

He stepped suddenly, and the whole person was like a shot arrow, with cruel and fierce murderous aura rushing towards him.

Karl's heart skipped a beat just by eye contact.

Murderous intent!

This is the cruel look that only those who have killed people, or even more than one person, will have. He will fight at the slightest disagreement.

He has practiced martial arts for many years and has strengthened his body, but he has never fought a life-and-death battle with others.

As the distance got closer, he can see more clearly that the other person has a mask on his face, which fits his cheek.

"Shua!"

Karl swung his dagger and intercepted with an iron gate.

The target was not the masked man rushing in front of him, but the one behind him.

"Ding..."

A black shadow swung a sharp blade and collided with the dagger. The huge collision force made the two people lean back together.

Sneak attack!

There was actually a person hiding behind him. He attacked at the same moment the masked man attacked.

Fortunately, Karl was sensitive and made defense in advance.

"Be careful!"

The attacker said anxiously after failing to hit him.

"He is a knight's squire!"

Before they came, they did not expect that their opponent was a knight's squire who practiced breathing techniques.

But even if he was a knight's squire, what could he do?

As long as he was not a knight, there would not be much difference in physical fitness between him and ordinary people.

Besides, the current situation was three to one.

"Hu..."

The masked man kept rushing forward, and a steel rod appeared in his hand without knowing when, and he suddenly smashed it towards Karl.

The last tall and strong man also rushed over silently, holding a big sword and stabbing straight.

Their movements were swift, fierce, and well-coordinated. If they did not attack, it would be fine. Once they attacked, it would be a killing move that would kill people.

"Ding..."

"Dang!"

Karl waved his dagger and resisted frantically.

However, facing the deadly attacks of three people, although he defended himself strictly, he was forced to retreat again and again.

He had only been a knight's squire for a short time, and his physique was stronger than that of an ordinary person, but it was limited.

Moreover, the three opponents were all fierce, and the weapons in their hands were not handy, so for a moment, he was in danger.

"Ah!"

Karl's chest swelled, and a huge force burst out with his shout.

The dagger swung to break the attack, and the air trembled slightly, and then three afterimages appeared out of thin air and rolled in front of him.

Combat skills!

Fierce Wind Slash!

"Ding dang..."

"Puff!"

The dagger cut the flesh, causing one person to stagger back.

However, after performing the combat skills, Karl also felt that his body became tired. Just as he was about to take the opportunity to escape, his expression suddenly changed.

"Huh..."

A black shadow fell from the sky, and the thin sword in his hand cast sword shadows, covering the tall and strong man.

The sword shadows were retracted, and blood splashed.

"Puff!"

The tall and strong man fell heavily to the ground, and he had no power to resist.

"Captain Dinah."

Looking at the newcomer, Karl did not look relieved for having survived the disaster, but rather annoyed.

"You made me the bait!"

"Now is not the time to talk about this." Dinah shrugged and looked at him with some surprise: "Your swordsmanship is good."

"Chase!"

"Don't let them escape!"
