I furrowed my brow. "Have you been drinking?"
He grabbed my hand. "There was a work thing. I went out with some colleagues."
I didn't think much of it, but my gut told me he was lying.
To prove my hunch, Mason and I followed him for a day.
We tailed him all the way to his office, watching as he entered the company building.
About an hour later, he exited through the back door and met a man on the street corner.
The two seemed to be talking about something. I pulled Damien along. "We'll know what's really going on in a minute."
They said something in the alley, but Mason and I couldn't make it out because we were too far away.
But we could faintly hear Soren say, "That matter has been taken care of, sir. Rest assured, there's absolutely no evidence left behind."
"Good."
The man nodded. "I have other business to attend to. I'll be going now."
"Alright."
Soren turned and left the alley in the other direction, and the man departed as well.
