Seo-Yeon has agreed to Soso's request, but the headache was how she should approach Jun-Hyun with the proposal.
She can't just go and say "Mr. Kang I want to be your twin's nanny. Please take me in and let me enter the mansion."
If she did that, Kang Jun-Hyun would suspect her of having ill intentions and she wouldn't be surprised if she ended up in jail.
A shudder runs through her body at the thought.
She slowly packs her things, the new toothbrush, and her torn dress into a paper bag.
The twins stand across her, looking at her intensely. As if searching for something.
What are they looking for...?
She had already signed the hospital form and was now ready to leave.
"Alright," she turns to the trio in the room.
She bows a little with gratitude "Thank you for looking after me these few days. I don't know what I would have done if I was supposed to eat the hospital food when admitted."
She chuckles "Mr. Butler the cookies you gave me were delicious. Thanks for preparing my meals and for paying the hospital bill. I'm really grateful."
"Miss Seo, it's us who should be thanking you. You save our young master and young madam" the butler said bowing his head followed by the twins.
"Thank you, Auntie Seo, for saving us." The twins said in unison.
Seo-Yeon chuckled "It's fine, don't worry. You both should take care of each other." she ruffled their hair with a fond smile.
"Auntie Seo, when will you become my mommy?" the girl, Ha-Rin asked with a pout.
Ha-Joon covered Ha-Rin's mouth with his tiny hands, stopping her next words.
Seo-yeon choked on her spit and started coughing strongly. Tears filled her eyes because of pain.
"What?" before Seo-Yeon could say something, a strong, authoritative voice of a male reached her ears.
A shudder ran through her heart.
"Unc- Daddy..." The boy, Ha-Joon turned with panic.
Jun-Hyun has already told them they shouldn't talk about Seo-Yeon, or refer to her as mommy.
Jun-Hyun's eyes narrow has he looks at the twins and at Seo-Yeon.
The butler moves in front of the twins hiding them behind him.
"Master, you are here... We were just saying thank you to Miss Seo-Yeon for saving the twins. Young Miss Ha-Rin was just expressing her gratitude. She was just reluctant to let go of Miss Seo-Yeon."
While the butler was wracking his brain to divert the topic, Seo-Yeon was planning her proposal to ask Jun-Hyun for the job.
Seo-Yeon takes a deep breath.
There is nothing to worry She is just going to ask the rich, and handsome man if she can live in his house and take care of his kids.
It's totally normal conversation.
Something that happens every day.
"Uh... hi there. Mr. Jun-Hyun" She greets awkwardly.
Just like an emotionally constipated person Jun-Hyun just looks at her and nods stiffly "Ms. Seo-yeon."
Seo-Yeon clears her throat "So, Mr. Jun-Hyun, I- what I want to say is..."
She fidgets "I- Can I ask you for a Favor?"
Jun-Hyun without answering takes out a checkbook in his hand and looks at her "How much do you want?"
"What?"
"Money, how much do you want?" Jun-Hyun repeats.
Money...
MONEY...
"No, no no no no, Mr. Kang you got me wrong. I wasn't talking about the money"
but if you want to give, I won't reject the offer. The last part was muttered to herself.
Jun-Hyun puts the checkbook back in his pocket, and Seo-Yeon mourns for the money she lost.
It was all the creepy lady with a dry shampoo problem. If not for her she could have taken the money and lived a happy Mary go life.
"Then what is it?"
Seo-Yeon clears her throat again "So, about your twins."
"What about my children?" Jun-Hyun narrows his eyes.
"I mean, your twins as in your DNA—" more like your sister's DNA...
She laughs nervously "I mean it's obvious, yes, they are your children, no paternity test needed." Jun-Hyun raises his brows.
"I mean... they're great. I Love 'em. They are brave, smart, and Adorable. Kind of like golden retrievers with trauma."
Seo-Yeon laughed awkwardly patting her chest.
Jun-Yeon was confused "Are you alright?"
"Debatable. But that's not the point you should worry about" Seo-Yeon said.
Seo-Yeon took a deep breath, it's now or never...
"I wanted to ask... if maybe, like possibly, I mean hypothetically but also very seriously—you'd consider letting me stay with them." Seo-Yeon gestured toward the twins by her side.
"As in, like, a caretaker, a nanny. I mean it's temporary, of course. Unless I'm amazing at it. Which, to be fair, I am."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I WANT TO BE YOUR NANNY" Seo-Yeon Shouted losing her eyes.
"WHAT..."
"What??"
"I mean I want to be the twin's nanny" Seo-Yeon corrected herself.
Jun-Hyun's face hardens instantly "You want to live in my home? With my children?" he asks.
"Yeah, Your acting as if I'm asking to stay in your room."
Jun-Hyun stiffens when she says that, he crosses his arm "Why?"
"Because... they like me!" Seo-yeon turns to the twins. They both nod their heads enthusiastically. A smile blooms on Seo-Yeon's face.
She becomes confident with the twin's support "And I like them! And I think we connected over the whole 'escaping from kidnappers' trauma thing. It's not every day you bond over mortal danger, you know?"
"Are you in any financial trouble?"
Seo-yeon nods honestly "Yes"
"Are you trying to get close to me through them?" he asks.
Seo-Yeon freezes on the spot "Excuse me?"
"You've only met them a few times. Now you want to move into my home. What is it that you're really after?" Jun-Hyun asks coldly.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You should stop right there" Seo-Yeon offended by his words, looks at him with anger.
"You think I'm a what, some gold-digging, nanny-turned-femme-fatale lady trying to seduce a chaebol superstar single dad for his inheritance?"
"The way you admit to it sounds questionable," Jun-Hyun says.
"No! Well—yes, okay, maybe a little if you say it out loud like that." Seo-Yeon mutters softly.
"But no! I'm not after you, Mr. Superstar. I just... I care about those kids. They ran to me when they were scared. They held my hand when they were afraid, they asked me to protect them. And honestly? I felt like someone again when I held theirs." she says.
She breathed out "Mr. Kang, I have financial problems but I don't want your money."
She looks up "I want a chance to start over. For myself. For them. For... a woman who's scared to leave her marriage with nothing but a 5-year-old and a drawer full of resentments."
Tears fill in her eyes, and Jun-Hyun stares at her in silence.
"...Also, your butler gave me a cookie once and it was amazing. So, like, that's a small bonus." She says awkwardly.
"You're..." Jun-Hyun sighs "Very strange."
A small smile forms on her face "Trust me, You have no idea."
Jun-Hyun turns to leave the room making Seo-Yeon panic "Mr. Kang, don't leave. Please! At least... ask the twins. They trust me. Let them decide."
Jun-Hyun pauses in his steps but he doesn't turn around.
"I'll think about it." with that, he leaves.
