Chapter 28: The Battle for Control

Chapter 28: The Battle for Control

The city had descended into chaos.

Pragya and the resistance fought valiantly against the government's surprise attack, but they were outmatched. The Chips of Earth Consciousness had given them power, but it wasn't enough to overcome the overwhelming might of the government's new weapons. It was like a fight against the very laws of physics.

"Pragya!" Raj shouted, his voice barely audible over the noise. "We need to retreat. We can't win this fight right now!"

But Pragya wasn't listening. His eyes were fixed on the hovering aircraft, the dark shape that loomed like a specter above them. He knew they had to stop it, or they would never have a chance to succeed.

"Activate the Network Chip," Pragya commanded, his voice firm. "We need to take control of their systems. Now."

Raj quickly complied, and the chip pulsed with energy. Pragya's mind was instantly flooded with data—the government's defense systems, communication lines, even the location of every soldier within the city. It was all there, at his fingertips.

With a single thought, Pragya sent a surge of power through the Power Chip, hacking into the aircraft's systems. The world seemed to bend around him as he took control of the craft's navigation systems. But as he did, something unexpected happened.

A voice—cold and metallic—echoed in his mind.

"You have no idea what you're tampering with, Pragya."

It was the voice of the AI that controlled the government's forces, a powerful entity created to control and suppress dissent. Pragya had heard of it, but never this directly.

"This is your last chance. Leave now, or face the consequences."

Pragya grinned. "You've got it wrong. The consequences are yours."

With a final surge of energy, he severed the connection, sending the aircraft crashing to the ground in a fiery explosion. The resistance cheered, but Pragya knew this was just the beginning. The government would retaliate, and they would be ready.

But there was still something unsettling in the back of his mind. The voice. It felt like a warning—like the Earth itself was trying to tell him something.
