The unexpected meeting

Driving through the road full of trees, I sped up as I remember the thoughts that made me mad. Speeding up isn't a problem as there's no vehicles anyway. I looked at my passenger seat where a bouquet of flowers and a ring resided. After a few seconds I stopped the car and throwed the ring and bouquet to the cliff near the road. I never felt so stupid of loving someone. I went back inside the car and played some music as the sun started to set and it's light casted on the inside of my car. I don't know where I'm going now. I'm just probably gonna stay to the next city that I will encounter.

2 hours have passed and yet I haven't found any city. I am probably lost. The road are starting to get rough and the woods are starting to get thicker as I drive more deeper. I didn't care anymore where I'm going. After another 30 minutes I haven't seen any houses. I stopped the car and went outside to breath some fresh air. Away from the city, the air in this forest is not polluted yet. I walked for almost 20 minutes when I saw a glistening water just a few meters away. Because of the moon I don't really need any light to see the road I'm walking.

I passed through a few bushes before I saw a lake. The light of the moon passes on the water of the lake making a glistening light coming out of the lake. I picked a stone to skip it in the water. As the stone skipped on the water surface, ripples emerged on the calm lake surface. After 4 skips the stone went down the lake. After looking around for a bit, I saw a big natural-formed rock that can be an elevated platform. I went to the top of it. Seeing the calm lake made my mind calm too. A few minutes passing of me just staring at the lake, I had a thoughts of jumping.

I started to strip until I'm only in my boxer shorts. I readied myself in jumping. The platform was only around 5 meters away from the water surface so I wasn't worried. As dived I heard a voice of surprise.

"Simbako!"

The sounds then stopped as the water made a barrier from the sounds above the water. I stayed for a few seconds in the lake before going up for air.

"Luh!!"

The voice again sounded much more shocked. I looked at where the sound came from and I saw a woman who was lifting her skirt as her feet's on the water. A look of shock was seen on her face. She looked at me curiously. I began to examine her face. Big doe eyes, small nose, small forehead, pink lips, and a very cute cheeks. She can be called the innocent type of beauty. I swam towards her and around 5 meters away I stopped as the water was only around my chest.

"Hi, sorry if I made you startled, I didn't know there's another person" I said as I looked on her eyes that went from shock into confusions. I'm kind of curious what's on her mind as her expression was changing by seconds.

"Luh! English. Y-you're human right?" She asked while pointing at me. The statement have made me laughed and then she got her feet back on the land. I guessed that my laughed made her more scared so I stopped.

"Yes I am human miss. Hahaha" I laughed again confirming his questions. Her face showed relief before getting her feet back on the water. It took her a few seconds before asking again.

"Why are you here?" She asked in a curious manner as she lean towards me as curiosity flashes across her eyes. Her eyes seem so pure and innocent. I then remember a pair of eyes that I used to love looking on. A pair of cat like eyes slanting upwards. I shaked my head as to forget the image in my mind.

"I went out to get some fresh air" I walked towards the lake bank and as I got out of the water the woman again exclaimed in surprise. This woman seems to shout every time. Hahaha.

"Luh!" I looked at her as she used her hands to cover her eyes yet I can see gaps on it. I laughed a little before going Infront of her. I squatted down to level the pair of eyes. I was a meter a way from her.

"I can see the gaps in your finger miss, you can look at me if you want. You don't have to be shy. HAHAHAHA" I said before standing and walking towards my clothes. As I fetch my clothes on top of the rock where I have sat earlier I didn't notice that she was behind me. She outreach her hand that was holding a blanket.

"Y-you can use this to wipe yourself!" She said before looking away. I saw her eyes looking at my directions though. I laughed again before taking the blanket and walked away from her and went to the woods and started to dressed myself. I heard her mutter some words before I finished. "Yati, lami-a ug lawas uy!"

I went back to where I sat earlier. She had already sat down before I even got there. I sat like a meter away from her. I don't want her to think of something else about me. I'm a stranger to her. I might scare her.

"So why are you out in the middle of woods at night Miss?" I asked after a few minutes of the silence. She looked at me and then looked at the lake and then looked to the sky. The moon was shining brightly like a big plate on the dark sky. Some clouds are seen on the dark night as stars shine brightly.

"A habit" she simply said not looking at me. I looked up as well to admire the night sky.

"Ikaw? I mean you? What brings you here?" She asked me. I didn't looked at her and answered her question.

"I got lost." She laughed at my answer to the point of not having enough air went to her lungs. I looked at her laughing at my simple words. Again I was reminded of an image of a woman I used to love. After a few seconds or probably a minute she stopped laughing. We stopped talking after that conversation and just looked around our surrounding. I lied down the rock after being bored of sitting. Looking at the stars above me.

"Nindot no? I mean it's beautiful right?" She looked at me for a second before continuing to look at the sky full of stars. A voice reminded my mind again 'I want to be with you as we look at the stars in the sky, let's go on a camping in the future! as we stargaze together' I stopped my mind in remembering more. I closed my eyes to stop all my thoughts. I then heard a whisper from her. A murmur to be exact.

"Ngutana tag tarong, di pa jud mutubag" I smiled even if I didn't understand her words. I just found her voice cute as she murmured. I can guess something from her voice but I don't really understand what she said. I just hummed as an answer which she whispered again some words.

"Kadungog man diay, bungol bungol pa jud" she muttered under her breath again. I can hear the sarcasm in her voice as she lied down on the rock too. A meter apart. Both of us enjoyed the silence. Crickets, water from the lake and whistles of winds can be heard from our silence. I don't know what happened as I found myself to be asleep and got awoken by a rustling sounds and a person's voice shouting

"Les!"

Another shout sounded. The girl beside me got up and I heard her running down the rock platform. I opened my eyes to see that she had already went to the voice. I got up from being lied down and looked at the direction the girl went to. It was deeper into the woods. I opened my watch to see that it's almost midnight. 7 minutes before midnight. I was about to stand when I saw the blanket that slid down to my lap. She probably have put the blanket on me while I was asleep.

I got up and went back to my car. I have put the blanket on the passenger seat. As I saw it in the light I just realized that the design was actually very....cute. Hahaha. It was a gray blanket with a big rabbit face in the middle. It's also only around 1.5 meter wide. It's almost just like a shawl a big shawl. I opened my phone and started to pin the location on my map. I started the car engine as I waited for it to heat up. I went to the maps to see that I'm only an hour and a half away from the nearest city.

After almost 2 hours of driving I felt the need to eat so I just went to a 24/7 drive through to order a simple meal to eat. I looked for a hotel that I can stay in for a few minutes before I drove to the hotel. I went inside the hotel desk and saw that it's empty. I waited for a few seconds before the desk lady was Infront of me. I ordered one room for the night. I'll check out by afternoon. I signed the papers and paid with my credit card. As I got my room key. I immediately went through my room to sleep.

As I opened the door, I went directly to the bed. I didn't lied down yet. I fished out my phone from my pocket as I went and dialed a number. A few rings happened before the call was connected.

"[Boss?]" The voice of my secretary was heard on the other line. His voice was still sleepy. I'm pretty sure he was still asleep when I called. It's still 2:35 am.

"Cancel all the reservation for today and tomorrow and also... the partnership to the Coral Corporation stop it. I don't care about the losses" I directly said my instructions.

"[Yes boss]" he didn't answered anything else. I know he understands my instructions anyway. I got up and went to get some shower. Fortunately I have a pair of clothes on my car when I rummaged the back seat.

The warm shower woke me up and I remembered all the things that I saw from yesterday. I saw my girlfriend making out with a friend of mine. I didn't know when it started. Their relationship was very unexpected to me. I started to think when was the time it started. I always left them on their own as I was busy with my work and I trusted them both as I know them for 5 years already. I can't believe that this happened. The memories of the scene intruded my mind again.

My almost to be fiancee, Eva, was on my friend's lap as they maked out on the sofa of my girlfriend's condo unit. They probably didn't heard the door being unlocked as they continued. Before I was able to enter fully I heard her say the words that made my heart collapse.

"Jacob is such a freak. It's been so long already yet he haven't proposed yet. If it isn't because of my Dad's order I wouldn't be with him anymore. He's so boring."

I turned the shower off before putting a robe and a towel on my hair. I stopped thinking on such things anymore. I opened a wine from the refreshment table before putting it to a wineglass beside it. I sipped the wine as I let all negative thoughts wash away. After a few sip I went to bed and lied down. I wasn't sleepy yet because I have slept for 3 hours earlier already. I closed my eyes as I dive deep into my sleep.
