Camping in the woods

It's been already a month since I last saw Alexandra. I always have the blanket on my office. I don't want to get it out of my sight. I don't even know why. I looked at the paper bag that contains it in the cabinet of my office.

"Who's the owner of that thing anyway? And what's inside it?" Gab suddenly chided in when he saw I was looking at it. I turned my attention again on the papers that I'm about to sign. I read the statistics before answering Gab's question.

"Nothing, so don't pay any attention on it. It's not yours....and definitely not something kinky" I added when I got the look of Gab's face making a snide smile. I look down and read again. I saw him busying himself with the papers he also brought. I can't help but shake my head to think that this guy is an owner of a business company who have 800+ branches all over the world. He have his own office yet he would always do his work in my office.

"Oh right Eva's together with Mark officially." He commented while reading the papers he had on hand. He really felt at home at my office. I stopped on my track and lifted an eyebrow. It's also been a month since I last have a conversation to the both of them. I don't want to meddle in their affair anymore. I signed the documents after reading it. I had my secretary bring foods in my office when I saw that it's almost 7 pm. Gab already finished his work earlier and was just waiting for me to finish.

"Yo! Food delivery!" Kael's voice can be heard as he opened the door of my office. My and Kael's secretary behind him with an awkward smile of saying he can't control him. I went to the small kitchen in my office and washed my hands. I heard ruffled voices when I went back to the main office and I saw Kael and Gab holding the paper bag with Alexandra's blanket. They were holding the blanket up high. They were also confused at what they saw. I went up to them and grabbed the blanket before folding it properly and putting it back to the bag.

"Happy now?" I asked them as I put it in the cabinet again. They look at me like I was doing the most insane thing in the world. Both their mouth were hanging down still can't believe what they witnessed.

"Who? Who's the owner?? Do you have a kid?!" Kael recovered first and his words made me think my life decisions of making him a friend. I looked at him with utter disbelief because of what he just said.

"A kid?? Who's the mother??" Gab also retorted. Slow to uptake that I didn't agree to Kael's questions. I shaked my head as it hurts thinking of what goes to the brain of this two.

"I knew it! You were cheating on me! Huh? Who's that woman?? Is it that one girl from last month?! When was it?! Who is she?!!" A voice I haven't heard in a month sounded in my office screaming. Eva ran to me as hatred filled her eyes. I didn't know how to respond of how the situation have spiralled into a damnation. I grab Eva's hand that was punching my chest and the other that was about to slap my face.

"Let me go!! Who is she?! Huh? Where did you meet that slut?!" She looked at me as fumes rises from her head in anger. I hold her wrist tighter as I furrowed my brows in annoyance. I can't believe I loved this screaming woman for five years and I didn't notice how unsightly she was. I looked at my secretary who was also shock because of the sudden arrival of Eva. Gab and Kael was also furrowing their brows as Eva was still screeching and screaming of whoever was the woman I 'cheated' with. I don't even have time for her and she thought I have time to meet other woman?

"Shut up!" I shouted as I let go of Eva's wrists. She was shocked. Her eyes filled shock and startledness before it was filled with tears trying to escape from it.

"Get out!" I pointed the door and when I saw that she was still not responding I looked at my secretary who understand what I wanted to do. He dragged Eva who was still shock from my sudden outburst. I sat down my office chair as I rubbed my temple as migraine went into my head. Gab and Kael was silently looking at me as they sat in the couch. I looked at the city view from my office. City lights are starting to be light up. I calmed my nerves down and when I look back at where Gab and Kael was I saw them eating silently the food that I ordered.

I went to them and sat oppositely and took one box of food. I ate silently as they do so too. Small talks happened but most of the time was spent eating in silence. Gab's phone ringed he went to one corner before answering it. I didn't mind him before I went back to the papers that I must sign for the day. After finishing all documents to sign I saw that it's almost 10 pm and Kael and Gab had already went away an hour ago.

I called my secretary inside the office to tell him to bring all my paperwork for the week to my house tomorrow as I won't come to my office for the week. I got up and looked at the view first. I remembered the serene scene in the lake, the stars, the fresh air and also her. I looked at the cabinet and went and grab the bag. I spilled the content of it and the big rabbit face faced me. I touched the blanket. The soft cotton blanket relieved me from my stress. I don't even want to think of anything else. These days, I found myself holding the blanket when I got stressed out. Probably to have something to hold on. The soft feeling of the blanket as I squeeze it made me lose all the nerves that was building up on my body.

I saw that my secretary have already left so I went and put the blanket again to the paper bag. I went outside and drove past the streets to go home. I'm going to sleep tonight. After arriving I washed up before I got the blanket out of the bag again and put it in my bed. The blanket felt so out of place from the classic blue and black queen size bed. After wearing some pyjamas I sat down on the bed and thought of all the things that happened today again. I sighed and opened the wine bottle that I left yesterday and got a glass to drink before sleeping.

I got up in the morning with a ruckus in the house. I heard my friends voices downstairs. Sometimes I feel like they're going inside my home too much that it feels like they already own the place. I sighed and got up as I freshes myself first before going down. Wearing only my pants with a towel in hand as I dried my face I saw my friends having fun in the kitchen. Garry was cooking while Kael and Gab was joking about nonsense. I went up to them and looked at what Garry was cooking to see that it was a simple pancakes. Kael and Gab now looked like chicks that was waiting to be fed and is being rowdy in the kitchen Island.

After a few minutes Garry was done cooking and got out from the apron he was wearing. We were eating the breakfast when I heard the doorbell rang. I then went out to see my secretary holding stacks of papers and envelopes. I opened the door as he went inside the living room to sort out the papers again. I ate as I looked at my friends chatting again. My secretary had already left after we ate.

"Ughh seeing that stack of documents have made my mind already making migraines!" Gab said acting like he's having a headache. I shaked my head from his actions. I got the paper and put it in my luggage bag on my room. I didn't know that they were all behind me looking at all my actions.

"Where are you going? A business trip?" Kael asked I didn't answered first. Gab jumped to my bed and lied down and look at me packing my clothes.

"Are you gonna see the owner of the blanket?" Gab asked and then the I stopped putting clothes which made the other two look at me seriously. I continued putting my clothes and necessary things to bring.

"If I can still find her" I simply said. The three of them was shock beyond imagination. Kael went and grab my shoulders with wide eyes in disbelief.

"Her? So you really cheated on Eva?" Kael asked while shaking me. I don't even know why they act like girls. I sighed internally.

"I didn't. I met Alexandra when I went out for an air." I detached Kael's hand on my shoulders before going to my closet to bring more things to pack. I got one paperbag from 2 weeks ago containing a pale yellow sun dress. I thought it suits her. I put it beside my luggage. The three was still shock from words.

"So? What do you mean 'if you meet her again'?? You don't know where she lives?" Garry asked now. I shaked my head as an answer.

"I don't even know her whole name or age" I said before locking my luggage. I looked at them before asking something ridiculous.

"Wanna go on a road trip?" Gab and Kael jump in excitement and directly went to call their assistant and secretary to bring their workloads and things to my house. They started asking me a lot of things, who was Alexandra, how we met, and how she look. After almost 2 hours of waiting all their stuff arrived at my house and we used my camper van to put all our luggages in. It's been a while since we had a trip like this. In the past I used to bring Eva everywhere so I didn't have much time with the boys as she doesn't want me to spend my free time to other people aside from her. I just realized how controlling she was after being done.

"Oh right, it's a 4 hours drive. You might want to bring some foods. Should we do some grocery first?" I asked and all of them agreed. So I went to drive and we went to do some grocery. It's gonna last us for 3 days. We went inside the van again after putting all the groceries inside. Driving, we went and did some basic road trip things. Music. Music was running on the radio as Garry and Kael was reading their documents to finished things up so that they don't have to worry about things for the next few days. Gab already finished his job for the day.

After 4 hours it's already 2 in the afternoon and we just went to a drive thru earlier to continue eating while driving. Also it's Garry now that's driving. We went and switch for every 2 hours. When the map said that they have arrived. I put down my documents and went to see if there's a place we could park the Van and we really did find one after 5 minutes of looking. Garry parked it not far from the lake. We got outside and started our preparation for the night. We had to set up our camping site. After 2 hours of preparing our lodging I went to the top of the rock and look at the sight. Since it's already 4 in the afternoon almost 5, the sun was already not that hot anymore. It's casting a light not blinding and hot. Just enough to enjoy the sun's light and nature.

"It's beautiful" a voice sounded behind me and I looked back and saw the three also looking at the view. It was Gab who said that. I sat down and looked at the scenery again, they too sat after not long after I did. We do need sometimes to have days like this. Away from the hectic schedule and traffic of the city. After around of 30 minutes of small talks and enjoying the view we went back to the van and prepared for our dinner. We decided to have a simple barbecue dinner. Garry and I was the one preparing the meat and cook it while Kael and Gab took the job of cooking other dishes like rice, vegetables and also preparing the table.

We finished preparing our set-up by 7 in the afternoon. We ate the barbecue with rice and other dishes. We also drank some beer while looking at the little bonfire that we made.

"This is a nice place to chill out after the hard and rough time in the city. Haaa" Kael stated as he drank the beer can on his hand. We got startled when we heard the rustling sound of leaves and bushes not far from us. We stood up to see who was the other person was. They stopped after a few more rustling.

"Who are they? Can we help you?"
