**Katrienair's POV**
As I sat at the table to read, I pondered on how my life has been. Like a soap opera, it's been too incredible to be true. It's my first day as an army of this kingdom, this world rather. How do I feel? My feelings is blank. Still unsure about some things. Questions like :Am I doing the right thing? Is this my destiny? The man in green light once told me that we choose our destiny, I'm scared my choice have made a wrong destiny for me.
It's okay to be scared, isn't it? Our lives can't be perfect and mine doesnt have to be. I'm reading cause i need to know the people I'm fighting before starting a fight. I was close to the end of the book when I heard a voice over my head.
"Good job Katrienair. " it was a familiar voice.
"Joel? " I gasped. "you scared me"
His face darkened.
What again? My subconscious questioned.
"Julian or your Majesty. Do I need to teach you that too? "
You know I will not call you that. Majesty my foot! Not your fault anyway. My subconscious swore. There are a lot of thing I would not dare to say nowadays.
"I can call you anything I want. " I searched his face. "we're alone, ain't we? "
"we won't be alone every time. " he said.
I was getting pissed off, controlling myself is a quality I've learned to have. Old Katty would have blotted out her mind.
"Fine! "I spat. He had some books in his hands, old and dusty, the biggest books I've seen ever.
"what's that for? "
"it's yours to read. " he shoved other books aside and dropped it on the table. "you don't need all these but this. " he said. "This book holds all the secrets of this land and no one except the Royal Family is allowed to open. You should study it well, especially the maps and the prophesies. Hopefully, you'll find yourself in them. "
Without giving much concern to his words, I opened one of the books, ready to read but he flipped it back close.
"What again? " His attitudes... I just hope I can live with them. I have this preconceived hatred now that I know he's with me for my potentials and gifts. But it's like I'm hating to love.
"you do not plan to read all day, do you? " he smirked. " Or should I remind you who you are to us. Master, you need to go see your legion. "

The training ground was some distances away from the castle. Riding on a horse for the first time made me feel nauseous but the feeling that I now have a female horse complimented that. When we got down, Luna hopping happily behind me, I examined her features. She's indeed a pretty horse, her brown coat glows in the sun, her mane and tail are soft and hindquarters are damped with colours. I love her already.
"let's move Master" I heard Julian say and we began to move.
***
We walked across the dusty landscape, the horse sun making my eye shrink. Before me, we're spread out, the members—and new recruits of the legion. Dozens of boys looking older than their presumed age and stronger. They were training and being tested in various formation. Some throwing spears, others hurling javelins, a few practicing their grip on lances. They aimed at distant targets and rarely missed. These are going to be my trainees, who seem like they need no one, formidable.
Among them were dozens of real knights, members of the golden amorites, standing in a broad semicircle watching the action. Judging, deciding who to stay and who to be sent home. These are the people, I, an inexperienced lady is going to train and lead. I could not help but feel nervous. First, the helmet on my head was too heavy, the breastplate and armour makes me feel invisible stupid—like awkward. This is gonna be big work, a bigger punishment... Maybe. I slowed my pace, Julian noticed and held my hands.
"do not tell me you're nervous Katrienair. "he whispered. "you are king over them, no matter how fierce they look. "
I just stared into space. I've got nothing to say.
"Besides, you've got me, a perfect assistant. " Then I saw something that made my jaw drop.
A young boy was sprinting across the field, five of five the kings guard, chasing him. A large boy with a locked hair, tall, muscular and nearly thrice his size, smacked him with the edge of his sword. The young boy lost his balance and fell. His attackers met him and began to pounce on him.
Gross, human abuse. I was so infuriated that I withdrew my hand from Julian's hold and ran towards them. All eyes were on me and the guards stopped their abuse, their mouth wide open, even the boy.
They all bowed when I got to the scene but pulled the boy roughly again.
"Stop! "I yelled. "Enough! Stay back! " I issued commands, surprising myself and they obeyed.
I was surrounded. The once busy training ground gradually lost its course. I was creating a scene and I didn't care. The boy looked up, a young boy really, in his early teen. His broken nose bleed and black hair soiled with dirt. His almond shaped eyes reflected green, definitely not a feature of a demon.
"milady, "a guard began. "he is a rogue. He came in here uninvited. He's supposed to be a slave here, subject to everyone here. This is a great offence Milady. "he bowed again.
Offence? What's it with offences in this territory. My guess was right anyway. He's not a demon. They wouldn't treat their own like this.
"Explain yourself boy "I said to the young lady in rags. "why have you charged into our arena uninvited? "
Before he could respond, the lead guard broke into the circle, stood there, breathing hard, pointing a finger at him.
"he defied our command! "he yelled. " I am going to shackle him and take him to the dungeon! "
"I did nothing wrong! "the boy protested.
