Chapter 85

"Morning 'Listair, you slept in today for the first time." Emiliar said as she noticed Alistair walk into the kitchen. She had woken early enough to prepare breakfast for the house. Alistair was in her night gown, her hair still messy. It's her usual norm to visit the kitchen first immediately she wakes up. She loved to cook. It's different today because she overslept.

"Oh Emily, such a darling." A broad smile formed on her face as she noticed that food was almost ready.

"I'm always a darling."Emiliar winked. "By the way, I didn't want to disturb you. It's strange that you didn't wake as early as usual. You must be very tired."

Maybe I was. Alistair murmured. She slept late the night before. She was thinking-- thinking about so many things. Somethings seemed off. She felt like she was losing something. She felt it the night before. She could not stop thinking about her sister. Katrienair is not safe, she knows that. That night, she realized just how much she had to think about and these new members, one of them. There's something...

To be honest, she thought a lot about him than any other.

"Are the others awake?" She asked.

"Yes they are. The youngsters are downstairs. Claire checked on you earlier today but you were still asleep." Emily answered.

"I'd better get dressed up. " She left to her room.

"Food is ready!"Emiliar announced as she arranged breakfast on the dinning. Gabriel, Azazel and Jameal ran happily to the table.

"Morning Master" They echoed.

Emiliar winced. That sounded very wierd. "Master" No one has ever called her that.

"I'm Emiliar."

They gave her that "you're too old" look.

"You can call me sister Emiliar."

"That's too long."Jameal complained.

Emiliar wanted to laugh. Her name is too long? Gush, this guy is ridiculous.

"Don't dare call me Emily. Call me whatever you want but not master and not Emily."

"Why not Master?" She heard a voice from the stairs. It was Ethan. He seems like the oldest among them.

'Here comes the old man.' Emiliar's subconscious grinned at her. He's beautifully handsome. Like his hair, but that's a turn off for Emiliar. She dislikes guys with too much hair. And his, is just too much.

"Huh Emily?" He said as he joined at the table. Emiliar frowned. She's had enough of being called Emily by everyone.

"I'm not Emily. Emiliar"She corrected.

"I know."He smiled. " I prefer Emily. They should call you Master. It suits you."

Oh wow, it suits who? Emiliar found herself blushed. Who is a Master? She had to ask herself.

"Fine! So far you keep Emily out of your mouth."I addressed the youngsters and they nodded heartily.

"Where are the others?"Ethan asked.

Emiliar gazed turned towards the stairs. She was about to speak when she saw Claire and Alistair trot down the stairs.

"We are here. Thanks for the meal Emiliar."Claire said. She picked a seat right beside emiliar leaving the last one by Ethan's side for Alistair.

Alistair hesitated before sitting, Luna settling on her lap. They ate quietly. Alistair left the table first, though her plate wasn't empty yet. Emiliar followed her. She knew something was wrong. Ever since the other five joined them, something have been off about Alistair. She met her at the kitchen sink, staring at nothing.

"Hey, What's wrong?"

Alistair jumped. She was lost in thought and the sudden intrusion caused her heart to skip a beat.

"What did you say?"

Emiliar moved closer to her and examined her face. "You are not okay, Alistair. What's wrong?"

"Uhm"She swallowed. "Nothing really, I'm just..."She bit her lip.

"You don't wanna talk to me?" Emiliar questioned.

"No Emily, it's just...a lot. " She swallowed. "Don't you feel it Emily, something is really off. Katrienair...I mean. Didn't you notice anything about her? "

"I didn't. She looked fine."

"Yes she did. I'm scared. She might not be."

Emiliar laughed. She had wanted to hold it back that was impossible. Alistair is scared. Who would believe that?!

"Scared?" She snorted. "I thought I was the only one who fear. You are really thinking too much."

Alistair was quiet. She had more things on her mind. More that she can't discuss with anyone.

"Katrienair would be fine. C'mon she has always been. "

"I know right."She smiled. Emiliar smiled back.

"Oh my, I've missed that smile."She paused. "I'm still very surprised Alistair, we saw only young people in our dreams. But there are two adults. Is it like a glitch in our power or what?"She laughed at her own words, thought she really wanted to ask that question. It only sounded weird.

"Glitch?!"Alistair chuckled. "Maybe there was. I don't know why it happened like that anyway."

Huh... One thing she doesn't know. What is it about today? Emiliar thought.

"So what we doing today?"Emiliar asked.

"Training, of course. I'll train the young ones. You'll practice with the adults. They are soldiers anyway."

"You know the both of them?"

"No, not the both of them. I know Claire. She's my best friend." Alistair pointed out. " But Ethan, I just know he would be more skilled than he looks."

"That guy must be very old." Emiliar giggled.

"Does he look old Emiliar?! " Alistair shrieked. She just called Ethan old. What the ...

"He doesn't look old. I'm just guessing. He'll be like your mate or something."

"So I'm old?"

Emiliar laughed. "Oh no! That not what I meant. You're not old. Fine, he isn't old. Just cute."

Alistair winced. "You better get back downstairs. Finish up your food cause it's going to be a long day."

"Long day huh?" Emiliar hesitated. "I have questions though. Can I ask now?"

"Can I stop you from asking your questions? Hehe, I doubt that."

"You said Katrienair lost her powers."

"She did."

"And you said she won't get it back until she finds her true mate."

"Shsh..."Alistair cover her mouth with her palm. "It's a secret Emily."

"We are the only ones here. C'mon" Emiliar wriggled out of her hold. "Katty returned more powerful 'listair. What happened? Did she really find her mate? Or is there another glitch?"

"Tsk..."Alistair walked to the door. "Focus Emily, you are losing it. You have two powerful soldiers on your neck and I bet you, that's enough reason to be sober. I won't tend your wounds this time." She winked and left.
