Chapter 89
"Father, please listen to me" Julian pleaded. They've been talking for like hours now and have not come to a common agreement. They might never.
"You are about to make a grave mistake. She is the chosen one."
"You keep spewing that rubbish. I am the chosen one. No one is, except me. I do not and will not believe that damn holy book. It was written by our ancestors who failed. Don't be so naive Julian. You will take this throne after me. You should be ready to compromise laws or books. You should be able to make your own."
"Do not kill her today father. I plead on her behalf. She does not deserve death. She accepted our mark,our culture. She's one of us now. You can't just kill for no reason."
"Who told you I can't?"Roger smirked. "Ruel!"He called out one of his guard. Ruel walked in and curtsied. "Call an assembly. One person would go down today."
"Roger!" Julian yelled in rage. Roger dismissed the guard and faced Julian.
"Son. Maybe you should tell me. What ties do you have with this lad?"He whispered.
Julian hissed and walked away.
"You must be at the assembly!" He yelled behind him.
Raleigh walked in after sometime. He bowed. "My king, I want to have a word with you. "
"Go on Raleigh."
Raleigh had a mask on his right eye. He had lied to the people that he got injured by a beast.
"It's about Claudia. She visits the mysterious house. I've seen her go there once. I'm suspicious. "
"The sacred house? No one goes in there. They all die."Roger replied in disbelief.
"She goes there. I saw her." Raleigh tried as much as possible to hide Julian's involvement. He had other plans for Julian anyway.
"She didn't die. She went in and came out afterwards."
"When did you see this?"
"Recently my king. I have wanted to say this but you've been very busy lately. Always busy with the kingdom matters my King."
Roger thought for a while. The sacred house, who does she go to see there? Why does she go there? How did she get to know the sacred house? This gave him more prove that she wasn't pure.
"What do you think she does there?"
"I can't tell Milord. But I know they are beings in there, she goes to see." He was determined to bring her down. That's the price she'll pay for rejecting him.
"What are you saying then?"
"We should go have a look. The house should be invaded..."
"You know that is not possible. That house has caused massive destruction in the past."
"But it remains a threat my king."
"Still, we can do nothing."They were both silent for a while. "Claudia has many questions to answer. I surely would make her death slow and miserable. She dares to trick the king!" Roger swore.
"I have an idea my king."
"Spill it Raleigh"
"Since we can't get into the house. It should be as well burnt down. We don't need it in out territory. It has caused us more harm than good."
"Burn down?"Roger arched his brow. "That house? You think that is possible?"
"We should try at least My King."
Roger sent for the old general, Kron. He walked in and bowed.
"Send your army to the sacred house. It should be burn down."
The old general thought he had heard the wrong thing so he asked again.
"My king, you say the sacred house?"
"You heard me Kron!"Roger yelled.
"My king, it is not possible to burn..."
"It's a command Kron. Get away and do just that!"He yelled. Kron left.

She sat in the tub, Luna laid on the edge by her side. Her head bobbling with questions and her mind reeling and screaming at the same time. She wished she had someone she could speak to about all the stuffs going on in her head. In real sense, she does. She has Emiliar, she has Claire but she believed none of them would understand. And Luna, she would not want to get too attached to her. Things go away. She had a pet once, Luna's replica.
Then something occured to her.
"Rose."She called out. Her lost wolf's name was Rose. She died in a battle but somewhere deep in Alistair's world, Rose was still alive. And now she's thinking she has her Rose, right by her side as Luna.
"Rose"
She called out again. This time, Luna whined. Alistair gasped. She blinked her eyes continuously. Smart Luna jumped on her face and licked it.
"You are a darling Luna."She giggled. "I can trust you right?"
Luna whined. She understood it had said "yes"
"Katrienair is not safe and I cannot help her. Isn't that stupid of me?" She said. "You know what is more stupid. Something I should be hung for. I am letting my mind wander. I think I'm in love with this guy. Ouch! Did I say love? I've never been in one before but I know it. And I would not lie to myself." She paused, savouring the sweet silence that enveloped them.
Luna was silent and in her thought all she could sense was a lingering smile. When pets like this are quiet. They tell you one thing: "do what you think is right."
She jumped out of the tub to get her dress.
"Katrienair, I'm coming for you."
