Chapter 97

"Seems like there's nothing you can't do. That drawing is perfect." Ethan complimented her.

"Huh... Thanks."Alistair smiled. She settled on the couch, seeing this, Ethan joined her. She sighed. This guy won't let me be. She was about to leave when he held her down.

"Don't fret. I don't bite..."

"I'm not scared."She countered.

"You. "He swallowed. "I've learned a lot from you in a very short time. Your robotic technique I guess and your slaps, more than enough to reset a person's brain. Isn't it?"

"You are joking right?" Alistair stifled a laughter. He was definitely teasing her.

"It's the truth. You are mean." He teased on. " Do you know how hurtful it is when a harden warrior slaps you?"

Alistair pitied him for a moment. She wanted to caress his smooth cheeks and tell him how much she didn't mean to hurt him. That's impossible.

"I'm sorry" she muttered.

Ethan was flustered. He thought he'd heard the wrong thing.

"What did you say?"

Alistair bit her lip. What?! He expected her to repeat that? Not possible.

"You jerk!"She swore. "I'll hit you however I like."

She walked over to the door. It's time for him to leave. She has to guard her heart.

Don't do "love" now, Alistair.

"Time to leave Master Ethan. "She announced.

"I'm not ready to leave. Come on, I came here a reason."

Alistair snorted. "Fine! What you want? You are acting really weird."

"What I want? I won't answer it that way. I have something to talk to you about." He stood up from his seat and walked towards her. He locked the door and slammed her against it. Alistair had to pinch herself to be sure she wasn't in one of her fairy tale dreams. Unconsciously, she clenched her fists, realizing how real it was.

"Relax 'listair, you would not have to slap me this time. I promise." Alistair forced on a smile. "We're too close. Can't you talk without..."

"Shsh" He hushed her. "Just listen to me okay?"

"You are the craziest yet the most beautiful woman I've ever met. I'm not good at this okay? I hid all my life. That I regret more now. I'd have learnt more on how to tell a lady how I felt. Well, I'll just say what I think. I love you so much Alistair. And I'd like you to be mine forever. I mean forever Alistair." Alistair was rather in a daze. She took a good look at the figure in front of her. He had just the complexion and feature of any man. He is about the same height with herself and of ordinary build. His eyes, of its usual blue, was rather remarkably cold. His face hairless, like he shaves them off every minute, her spec. He was abominable and most alluring

 His hair...

"Alistair?" Ethan said, waking her from her trance. She went momentumarily dumb after he completed his 'speech'. That got him worried.

"Alistair?" He shook her. The tears that had welled up in her eyes dropped. They were tears of...well her feelings were too mixed to be discerned.

"Ethan." She lowered her head to hide her tears. "What did you say?"

Ethan wiped her tears with her thumb. "I love you. That's it okay?" Instinctively, her fingers found its place on his hair, eyes closed, she loosened the tie, making it fall over his shoulders. His hair was where his charm resided. It was expensively set into a smooth dome, like a band shell for the presentation of that long smooth-running act, his face. She kept their gaze in place, fiddling with his hair like she was searching his soul. "Ethan. I..." She paused. Tears gushing down her face. "I've had a lot... A lot of trauma and...I'm a deadly ancient thing to most people. But you...I do not have a heart to give to you Ethan. But, I love you."She rested on his chest while he embraced her.

"Katrienair." Emiliar called out. They were both wornbout and sweaty from the day's work. They've got all they needed, even prepared horses (the sacred house had a ranch.) I who was sprawled on the couch, completely tired. I groaned. "Huh... You keep changing Emiliar. You call me Katrienair now." I yawned.

Emiliar laughed. "Oops, I didn't notice that." She paused. "You haven't said anything to me. I guess this is the only time we have. After tonight, we'll have no time for small talks...."

"Yeah, it's not nice. I just came in and the next thing, We're going for war."Katrienair complained.

"You made that."Emiliar said. "You have to say anything you're keeping okay? Like those you've said you'd say in the future..."

She was blabbering and that intrigued me.

"Gosh! Emiliar what are you saying?! You are blabbering like a kid!" I jeered.

"Oh I am?!"She exclaimed. "Are that dumb katty?! When are you going to break the news to me?!"She gave me three quick punch on my arm. Ouch, my best friend's gotten more muscles.

"What news?!" I cried out. "That hurts!"

She was freaking out. I wish I understood what she was talking about. My head was literally blank.

"About you and Julian. What's up with you guys?"

Then I got it.

"Oh my bad. I'm so sorry Emiliar. I completely forgot. There's a lot..."I sat up on the bed, she flashed me a "go-ahead" Smile. Emiliar and gossips, huh...

"He marked me. I never knew until today."

Emiliar was flustered and angry at the same time. "He marked you without your consent? Are demons always like that?!"

"I got myself drunk for the first time Emiliar. Only God knows how I looked like then. I hear drunkards do unbelievable thing. I must have been really messy. " I paused. I saw anger written all over her face and in some way, I guessed what she was thinking. "He didn't touch me. He only marked me. He must have been through hell though. I think self control... It's his thing. I swear Emiliar, he didn't touch me."

"You trust Julian that much?" She arched her brow.

"I'd be stupid if I don't. He deserves my trust anyway."

We were silent for a while and I could tell that Emiliar was thinking about something very important.

"But he is still a demon. Isn't this a disaster or something? We can't ignore the past. What do you think? Will you go on with this..." She stopped on seeing the expression on my face.

Emiliar has her way of reminding me of the thing I've kept shut in the darkest part of my mind.

Aargh!

She was about to say something when the door to our room flung open. Claire was at the door.

"It's time guys. The others are waiting. We are teleporting together."

We were both puzzled. Why so soon? And why aren't we travelling on horses.

She kind of got what we were thinking about.

"We can't use the horses. It's a long mile to the white coven and it's too much risk, especially for Alistair."

Oh okay...
