"Whoa. We are back at this old house. Who would have thought?"Claire gasped. We teleported to Ethan's house. It's the only place that's safe enough. I looked around, we were complete. One big family. These are the people that I belong to. We will stick together, forever.
Emiliar was the first to jump up the stairs. "I love my room. I'll take it quick. By the way, I'm so tired."She said while leaving. Emiliar is growing up, more possessive.
"How many rooms do you have here, Ethan?"Claire addressed Ethan who was helping with our bags.
"Quite a number. Won't be enough though. I have five or something. This place was formerly a bee and bee" He said. Well, a "bee and bee" as he called it means an hotel (sort of).
"Little wonder, the rooms are perfect."I added. "Well, I'll stay with Emiliar."I can't go back to my room. Oh my... it's sight.. it'll definitely remind me of things I don't want to think of. That room...why do I think it is possessed.
Huh... oops!
By the way, the room won't be enough if we didn't at least, share.
"We'll share one room too."Jameal said, referring to himself, Azazel and Gabriel.
"His loepard though, has to be kept away." Jameal chewed on his words.
"Are you scared? you punk!"Gabriel jeered at him. He threw Alex at him and they made a doggy chase up the stairs. They're really kids... sometimes.
"Then, boom! The rooms are enough." Claire said happily. She obviously loves her privacy. "I'll go get some rest too."
Alistair looked around, the living room wasn't bad but it was old. It reflected history. Ethan use to hide here. Poor guy. The war didn't favor anyone though.
"Is there anything in your kitchen Ethan?" She asked.
"Sure."Ethan was on the couch, busied at sorting the weapons.
"Then, I'll go prepare something."She left and I ran behind her. "I'll join you."
Alistair is a skilled cook. I mean, the moment she stepped into the kitchen, it became literally on fire. Though, there wasn't enough but at least we made something. I also had the chance to talk, I mean have a deep conversation with my sister.
"What's up with you 'listair?"
She smiled. I guessed the question came out really weird. "A lot. It's strange but I'm happy, for the first time in decades."
I thought I understood. Maybe I did.
"I'm glad you are."I winced. "Can I ask you a question? It's pretty personal. Hope you don't mind?"
"Come on. You are the only baby sister I have. Who else would be permitted to ask personal questions?" She winked at me. Oh...she is in a really good mood. Alistair's unpredictable. Or maybe, everyone is.
"Have you ever loved someone?"I said. "I mean, not your family or... Like a stranger or something. Gosh, I hope you understand." I always end up blabbering. Ouch Katrienair!
Alistair had a big smile on her face, one that seem like it'd never leave. And to be honest, her smiles are infectious. I've said that before right?
"I have. Though recently.""she paused. "It's crazy. I'm this grown up and I've never had a 'love' in quote, until now. Well you know that princess lifestyle. I didn't see much of the world outside the castle. I was trained to be a soldier. I trained privately and stuffs like that. But right now, I think I do love someone." Her face had turned bright red already. Well, she was turning pancakes so her eyes were fixed on them.
"Oh wow finally! Who is that?" I felt like I was being to forward but I could not help it.
"It's stupid Katrienair. You would not want to know."
"Well, I do. By the way, I'm your baby sis."I teased.
"It's the guy with the long hair."She flushed deep red. "Ethan."
I was more happy than surprised. My sister finally found love.
"I guess I liked him on first sight."
"Does he know? Have you told him?" I asked.
"Kind of. He does..." She snorted. "Gosh! This conversation is awkward. Too awkward to be had in the kitchen." The pancakes we're ready and she has served them.
"I'll serve these downstairs. You should help me call the others." She walked out of the kitchen. Happily, I jumped out to do as she has instructed. Alistair has a heart. Who would have thought? Well, I asked that question for a different reason but I've gotten the biggest information ever. I'm not the only one. You know what that feels like?
After dinner, I joined Alistair in her room. I love awkward conversations and trust me they are best at night.
We sat on her bed, both not sleepy.
"Today, at the house..."She began her explanation. "He told me. It's new to me Katrienair. And I do not intend to tell him, if he didn't. It's like a big fat lie in my head. I'm scared."
"Scared? Well, I was too. But mine is different."I paused. "But Why are you scared sis? Is it about the war?"
"No."She shook her head. "There a lot you don't know Katrienair. A lot that I can't tell also. " She paused. I was surprised how her countenance suddenly changed that I blamed myself for asking that question. I made up my mind that I won't press further. I'll reserve that for another day.
"I know you got marked. You didn't plan to tell me right?"She changed the topic. Why is everybody blaming me for not speaking about it?
"I'm sorry."I apologized. "I have mixed feelings about it and I feel like it's not worth saying out...to everyone."
"Mixed feelings huh?"
I swallowed. "Yeah. Julian is a demon. You talked about mum and dad..."I paused. "I don't want that to ever repeat itself. "
Alistair sighed. "Seems like we'll always have something to be scared of."She paused. "But Julian is a good man. I believe he's the best for you. About laws and it's... I don't know."
"I never met my parents. I never knew them. But you did. So I'll have to ask you. Since you know them well."I paused. "If mum and dad were to be here, will they allow me stay with Julian? "
Alistair snorted.
"Mum was fearless and dad, daring. They both believed in love."She paused. "You would not have met Julian if they were alive. Dad hated the demons...I can't say Katrienair."
We were quiet for a while. "I know mum would have supported you, ever." She paused. "You are marked already. I guess there's no going back."
She stretched on the bed and covered herself with the bedsheet, ready to sleep.
"I'll sleep here Alistair. Am I permitted?"
"Of course!"She giggled while I laid by her side. She embraced me and whispered in my ears:
" It's up to you Katrienair. Forget the law and make a choice. I will support you, whatever you choose. It's a promise"
I've made a choice already.
