Getting a permit from Wesker wasn't that hard.
He gave me the authorization to go outside the barricade perimeter easily.
I thought it would be a bit hard because of my young age, but I guess the man wasn't that hard to persuade. Or maybe, he didn't think that someone as young as me could cause any problem for him or the military.
But the most possible guess was that he had planned something to get rid of me.
By giving me permission to venture outside, he would be able to contact some teams to get rid of me. And that would be a good thing because I could kill them in turn.
I needed 400 more Shop Points to buy the zombie serum from the shop. I had no doubt that my unreliable system would inform me about their attack by giving me choices beforehand.
So I grabbed M1A1 and the rest of my equipment before departing tomorrow. I also reloaded all my magazines that night and checked the guns I owned, just in case I ran into something unexpected.
We were given our own room by Wesker's instruction, so I could also buy items from my shop without getting caught. Not that I needed it right now.
I only had 1 grenade left, but that should be enough.
Anyway, my room was surprisingly clean. We were given a small building, a condominium-like building that had three rooms for the four of us. Miss Rika also lived here for the time being.
The room arrangement was pretty easy. Miss Shizuka and Saya would stay together in the second room while I got the third room with Saeko. Considering Miss Rika didn't know about our relationship, this kind of arrangement was normal.
Also, because I would go out tomorrow, the room arrangement might change.
"Brother, are you inside?" Saeko entered the room and closed the door behind her, "Are you preparing your weapons?"
"Yeah, come and help me."
I was sitting on the floor, sorting the ammunition. I was also cleaning the M1A1, making sure it was ready for tomorrow. I needed it in perfect condition.
They were returned to Miss Rika after we met with Wesker, so now they were in our possession again.
Saeko kneeled behind me and hugged me tightly, leaning her head against mine. Her soft breasts were pressed against my back and I could feel her heartbeat. It felt good to have someone close to you after a long day like this.
"Brother... You can't keep doing this. I'm getting tired of seeing you leave without us. Without me."
I could hear a bit of anger from her tone.
I knew she didn't like to be left behind like this. But it was necessary for her to be safe and for me to be safe too.
So I had to do what needed to be done.
"Listen, Saeko." I stopped working and turned around. "There is someone dangerous in this base, and I need you to stay here with the rest of the girls."
I explained to Saeko about my meeting with Wesker, telling her about how he reacted when he heard me mentioning the virus sample.
"Is he really that bad?" Saeko asked, "If so, then it is even more reason for me to accompany you."
"No. I can't take you with me. He might target me if he learns that you are my girlfriend." I shook my head, "And I need someone I can trust to be here. I can trust you."
"Okay..." Saeko nodded reluctantly, "But please, at least let me know your location."
"Of course." I patted her head. "I'll contact you with the walkie-talkie. Miss Rika also has it, so we can use it to communicate."
"That's good enough for me, then." She nodded, satisfied.
"Thanks." I said and turned back to continue my work.
Saeko still kept hugging me from behind.
After a few minutes of cleaning and sorting the ammunition, I finished and leaned against Saeko. She tightened her embrace, and we spent some time in each other's arms before getting to sleep.

I left the HQ alone in the morning, fully geared with the maintained equipment.
Like usual, I brought my gun, sword, pistol, and then grenade. My vest was shredded in pieces after fighting the Plant 42, so I used a new one that Miss Rika gave me.
"Use this. It's Leon's old vest, but it will fit you just right."
And it fit me perfectly, almost as if it was made for me. The only difference was the fact that I couldn't hide the gun holster under the jacket, but that wasn't a big deal. This vest was more durable than the one I got from Takagi mansion. A military grade one.
Also, the military also provided me a ride to my destination, just right at the edge of the barricade perimeter.
The jeep arrived in front of the gate and I stepped down.
"Thank you, Sergeant Jones." I said to the soldier in the jeep.
He smiled, "Good luck, kid. Be careful."
"Will do. Thank you again."
After the gate was opened, the soldier drove back inside.
I looked around and saw the buildings outside the gate looked worse than those inside. Shattered windows and broken doors. Dead bodies were laying around on the ground, covered by flies and maggots.
It was a sight to behold. I didn't expect to see so much destruction when the barricade was so close.
Anyway, I had a mission to complete and time was of essence. The barricade was about 10 KM away from the city, and my destination was another 50 KM away.
Of course, it was only my rough estimation and it could be farther away from the actual distance. But it wasn't like I had a GPS or any navigation tools.
The sun was rising from the east and the sky was clear and blue.
A perfect condition for my journey. No fog or any rain would make this a bit harder to see from afar, so it was great that the weather was good.
Anyway, it would be a tiring walk.
