Orion gasped as he was pulled back into reality. He was still in the field of stars, Lyra staring at him with concern.
"What did you see?" she asked softly.
Orion hesitated. How could he explain that he had lived a past life, that he had fought in a cosmic war, and that he had been forced to choose between Seraphina and another fate?
Before he could respond, Astra and Kael appeared, both battle-worn but alive.
"We need to move," Astra said urgently. "The Veiled Queen's forces are hunting us. We barely escaped."
Kael turned to Orion, his expression unreadable. "And you—did you find your answers?"
Orion looked back at Lyra, then at the stars above.
"No," he said. "But I know where to find them."
The journey was far from over. The real battle had yet to begin.
Chapter 25: The Rift of Destiny
Orion barely had time to process the revelation before the stars around them flickered ominously. The Keeper of Forgotten Truths stepped back, her violet eyes clouded with urgency.
"The Veiled Queen knows," she whispered. "She will come for you now. You must leave this realm before the Rift opens."
Orion felt a chill race down his spine. "The Rift?"
Before she could answer, the sky above them cracked like glass, revealing a swirling void of darkness. Lyra gasped, gripping Orion's arm as an eerie force pulled at them. From the Rift, monstrous hands emerged—shadows with glowing crimson veins.
Kael unsheathed his blade, Astra summoned a protective sigil, and Orion felt a surge of power he had never known before. The memories of his past life intertwined with his present, and for the first time, he understood.
He wasn't just a warrior in a cosmic war. He was the key to sealing the Rift—or opening it forever.
