Huh? Reiatsu has advanced to a new level?
As soon as the system notification sounded, Kuzo's eyes lit up.
It had been years since he last heard this particular system prompt. And now, in just a single day outside the secret realm, he had managed to push his Reiatsu forward through side quest rewards.
"Is this the result of all that accumulation?"
A faint smile appeared on his face as he raised his hand, letting a trace of Reiatsu emerge from his palm.
He could clearly sense that the density of spiritual energy and the sheer pressure it exerted far surpassed his previous level.
Curious, he focused his Reiatsu on a flowerpot in front of him.
Bang.
The instant it was enveloped by Reiatsu, an invisible force struck it, shattering the pot into countless fragments.
As the dust settled, the once-intact flowers had been reduced to debris.
"As expected."
His smile widened. Now, his Reiatsu was strong enough to directly affect the physical world. The advantages of this power boost were undeniable.
"Looks like I can't afford to slack off on side quests in the future."
Even with his Reiatsu only at an intermediate level, he had already achieved this kind of destructive force. If he continued to grow, reaching an advanced stage, he might eventually reach a point where his Reiatsu alone made him untouchable.
After a moment, Kuzo shifted his focus back to the system panel.
Hadō #90 – Kurohitsugi.
This was one of the most fearsome Kidō spells, famously used by Aizen Sōsuke himself.
Once cast, the target would be trapped inside a massive black cube, where countless shadowy blades would pierce through them with overwhelming spiritual pressure.
High-level Hadō spells like this were known for their immense destructive power and their difficulty to cast.
However, with Kuzo's excellent Kidō proficiency, he could instantly master the chant the moment he learned it. More importantly, he could cast it without chanting.
Skipping the chant weakened its power slightly, but the trade-off was speed.
"I wonder if I push my Kidō mastery to the extreme level, would a chantless Kurohitsugi be just as strong as the fully chanted version?"
It was an interesting thought, but for now, it remained just a theory. Additionally, while Kurohitsugi was devastating, it also consumed a massive amount of spiritual energy, making it impractical for casual use.
Two days later, in the depths of Rain Shinobi Village, within a hidden meeting chamber…
The room had three seats arranged in a triangular formation, each occupied by a figure.
On the left sat Konan, wearing her Akatsuki cloak. Her blue-purple hair was adorned with an iris flower, and her expression was calm yet serious.
On the right sat Pain, the leader of Akatsuki. His Rinnegan eyes glowed faintly in the dimly lit room, radiating an oppressive presence.
The third figure, seated at the center, stood out. Unlike the others, he was not wearing an Akatsuki uniform.
Instead, he was clad in a black cloak with a dark green scarf draped over his shoulders. Most notably, his face was completely hidden behind an orange, spiral-patterned mask, revealing only a single blood-red Sharingan eye.
This was the true leader behind Akatsuki, one of the three major figures orchestrating the organization from the shadows—the masked man.
He sat with one leg crossed over the other, resting his chin on one hand. His voice was low and measured as he spoke.
"I've already heard the reports about that Kuzo killing Sasori."
"Now, tell me… what other information do you have on this mysterious newcomer?"
