CHAPTER 1 – "DEATH"

*Note:

Well, welcome everyone to my new fanfic! As you've probably read in the synopsis, this is a To Love-Ru fanfic with a more serious story, while still keeping the romance and harem elements that defined the original manga. Of course, in this fanfic, the harem is much better developed than in the manga.

As for the relationships with the girls—if you've read the synopsis, you already know what to expect. If you haven't, please go read it—it's important.

Now, regarding the writing quality. For those of you who already know me, I don't have to say much—you already know how I write. But for those who are new here, let me explain: I use Google Translate to translate the chapters, and then I carefully review and correct the errors myself using external tools such as WordReference, ChatGPT, etc. So if you spot any mistakes, feel free to let me know so I can fix them. Just please don't bring hate—everything can be said with kindness and respect.

Another thing: the first and even the second chapter might feel a bit slow, but the quality improves a lot in the later ones. In fact, from chapter 3 onward, there's a noticeable improvement. So don't judge the story too early!

Lastly, if you enjoy this fanfic, I might upload it to Patreon. But first, I want to see if people actually like it—otherwise, spending my limited time translating another fanfic that no one's interested in would just be a waste. Now that I have a job, time isn't exactly something I have plenty of.

That being said, I hope you enjoy the first three chapters, and don't hesitate to leave a comment! Of course, I'll read all your feedback and suggestions—but again, no hate, please.

I truly hope you enjoy this new fanfic!

...

I wasn't a person you could call "Popular." In fact, I don't even think it's right to call me that. I'm just a 35-year-old normal man who loves to travel.

My love of travel began when I was 13 years old. I loved going on holidays with my parents and I always enjoyed it the most. See places that, until now I have never seen before, explore ruins (already discovered) and even see important monuments. Everything that might seem boring for a normal kid, didn't seem boring to me, on the contrary, I enjoyed it more than anything else.

Of course, my only hobby was not only traveling, I also liked reading. I didn't care if it was a Western book, manga or whatever, a good book always made my day. In fact, one of my fondest memories was being on the beach reading a good book, while next to me, my parents lay lying on their towels, sleeping on the beach as the sun rose high in the sky.

Those were very good days, but like everyone else in this life, I grew up and all that is over. I had to study more and more and had less time to travel and read. Time went by and with it, the best years of my life vanished and all that was left behind, only being able to be appreciated by the photos that I kept on my small laptop or in the cloud where I kept them so that they would not be lost.

After studying at a good university, graduating successfully and getting a job where it was paid quite well, I believed that I could finally resume my hobby of traveling and now I could go anywhere on the planet, as long as I had the money and the necessary time. Now there was nothing to stop me from practicing my hobby as often as possible. Everything was going well for me and it seemed that it was going to get better, but when I was 24 years old, something terrible happened, my parents died in a traffic accidente. They were quietly coming from shopping, one day like any other, when suddenly, a truck driver crashed into my parents' car, killing them on the spot. Later, it was learned that the driver was drunk and had ingested a lot of drugs. In short, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Since then, my spirits declinned considerably, I was sad and angry, sad about the death of my parents and angry with that son of a bitch who would now be sleeping peacefully in his cell, but I am not a murderer and the only thing I could do is continue living. The death of a parent is never, get over, but you have to learn to live with it without it affecting your life in general. Luckily, I always had an understandable boss who, when he found out what had happened to my parents, gave me a few days off so I could clarify my thoughts. When that happened, I went back to my job and gave my best in it.

I didn't have any friends, all my friends from my university days went our own way. At first, we promised to write to each other from time to time and even gave each other our phone numbers, which I still have, but in the end, we ended up separating completely. We were very far from each other and long-distance relationships, no matter how much the people say, are not very long-lasting. As for whether I had a partner or not, the answer is simple: I had one, but now I don't. Having a partner greatly restricts your freedom whether you want it or not and right now I don't want my freedom to be restricted, that's why I decided not to have a partner for the moment, maybe in the future yes, but not for now.

As far as my hobby was concerned, I continued to practice it. I saved and when I had enough money, I took a few days off and traveled around world. That was my life for years and I didn't feel alone, but free and without ties.

Without going any further, a days weeks ago I ventured to go to the xxxx country to explore a town full of native people who had no contact with the outside world. Obviously, this village was deep in a jungle, but that was not going to quench my adventurous spirit, so I gathered my courage and headed there.

Getting to the place was relatively easy and finding the jungle even more, but when I tried to find the village, I got lost and ended up in a kind of ruins.

"The plan was to see those native people from afar and then go home: How did I end up in this place?" – I asked as I sat on a kind of stone wall.

I was supposed to buy a map that indicated the way to go to the village and they even assured 100% that the natives would not see you as long as you did not stay too long and remained relatively far from the village. I just planned to stay for a while, observe how they lived and return home. Too much money just to see some native people for a while that you can't even get close to? For me, who have already seen dozens of things and I like all this, it is not wasted money at all.

"This map was supposed to tell me the location of the village and the way to go" – I said looking at the map in front of me.

Right now I had my backpack at my feet and I was holding the map I had bought while I looked at it intently, waiting to see if I had made any mistakes.

"There is no mistake, so only one thing can have happened, I have been scammed" – I sighed.

There was undoubtedly a village in this jungle, I consulted it on the internet many weeks before planning the trip, but apparently the map was fake.

"I knew I should have bought the official map they sold on that website instead of buying it from a local for the simple fact of wanting a better experience" – I said angrily.

I could have bought the map online, but my adventurous spirit prevented me from doing so and I decided to buy it from a local, who, according to the internet, also sold them, but it seems that I was scammed.

"This map was very expensive and it was fake! Now how am I supposed to come back?" – I asked myself.

I guess I just have to go the way I came from and that's all... right? Well, no, because this was a fucking jungle and I had no idea what way I took to get here or rather, I don't remember it anymore!

"In any case, everything is my fault and there is no other choice. Since I have no idea how to get back, I'll explore these ruins until I come up with a way to get back" – I said as I put the map in my backpack.

I didn't manage to reach that native people, but at least I will explore these ruins. I guess it's better than nothing.

I walked through the ruins I had come to.

"They are just half-demolished houses. Too bad, there's nothing too interesting..." – I sighed.

I had already seen ruins of this kind, so they weren't impressive at all.

However, I forced myself to keep walking until I found what seemed to have been a square or something of the sort, for the ground was completely flat.

"Could it be that I has reached a square? Interesting, but wait..." – I said while observing the supposed square.

In the very center of the square was something, maybe a small broken column or something similar, so I approached only to see that it was some kind of altar on which a small artifact was located. I said artifact, but it was just a kind of bracelet.

"It must have been interesting to see in the past, but now it's just a piece of rock" - I said.

That's right, for some reason I don't understand, on top of the altar there was what appeared to be a bracelet, but it was made of rock.

"Or was it always made of stone and they just put it here for some reason?" – I reflected.

Curiosity has always been an inherent feeling of the human race and as a human and I wasn't going to be special, so, overcome with curiosity, I reached out with the intention of touching that bracelet-like rock or that fossilized bracelet, call it what you will. I didn't want to take it with me, just touch it out of curiosity. But when my hand came into contact with the rock, something strange happened.

BUMMMMM, BUMMMMM!

The sky, previously completely clear, had become completely cloudy and now coal-black clouds covered the sky as thunder could be heard.

"What's going on?!" – I asked scared.

Quickly, I tried to pull my hand away from the rock in the form of a bracelet, but I discovered a terrifying fact when I tried. I couldn't take my hand off!

"What the fuck is going on?! Why can't I take my hand off this damn rock?!" – I asked terrified.

I tried with all my might, but I couldn't take my hand off no matter how hard I tried, and as if that wasn't enough, in the midst of a thunder, someone spoke.

"YOU, THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN ABLE TO ENTER MY DOMAIN!" - said the voice.

It wasn't a robotic voice, nor was it a man's or a woman's, it was a voice that was difficult to describe, so if I had to give it a gender, it would be a man's.

"Who are you?! What's going on?!" – I asked terrified.

"THE CHOSEN ONE WHO HAS MANAGED TO ENTER MY DOMAIN, DESERVES TO BE REWARDED! GO AHEAD, MORTAL, TELL ME WHAT YOUR GREATEST WISH IS!" - said the voice.

I was terrified beyond words, I didn't know what to say or do. My remaining hand was sweating, my whole body was shaking uncontrollably, and my mouth couldn't make any sound at all.

"THERE IS NO ANSWER, BUT THERE IS NO PROBLEM, I HAVE READ YOUR MIND AND MEMORIES AND I HAVE MANAGED TO FIND OUT YOUR GREATEST WISH, MORTAL!" – said the voice.

"Who are you?!" – I asked with difficulty.

I don't know how those words could have come out of my mouth, I just said them.

"MY NAME WAS FORGOTTEN BY THE RACE OF THIS PLANET SINCE YOU BEGAN TO REIGN AS THE MOST DOMINANT RACE OF THIS CELESTIAL BODY! SAYING MY NAME DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ME! BESIDES, YOUR DESIRE IS NOT TO KNOW MY NAME, BUT ANOTHER!" – said the voice.

I didn't understand what I was saying or maybe because of fear I couldn't understand anything that was going on around me or maybe I thought I was in a nightmare that I would soon wake up from.

"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN FULFILLED, MORTAL, GOODBYE!" - said the voice.

I wanted to ask what he was talking about, but suddenly, my eyelids began to close. I tried to open them, but they looked like they weighed a ton and...

"YOUR POTENTIAL IS IMMENSE, YOUR WISH INTELLIGENT, BUT AT THE SAME TIME AMBITIOUS. THERE IS ALSO SELFISHNESS IN LESSER QUANTITY AND AN INCREDIBLE REPRESSED LUST. LIVE YOUR LIFE, ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS AND, PERHAPS, WE CAN MEET AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME FACE TO FACE!" – said the voice.

Our protagonist's body began to dissolve into particles of light and when his whole body vanished, the sky was clear again; as if nothing had happened. Nothing was left there, not even the protagonist's belongings, everything was erased as if it had never existed.
