[Episode 24] — Escape

Third floor. North wing.

Exit plan unraveling.

That 'I' ran, Su-yeon clutched to his chest. Her breaths shallow. His heartbeat louder.

Corner. Guard with stun baton.

No time to hesitate.

That 'I' lunged. A strike. The guard dropped.

Elevator too risky.

"Stairs," Su-yeon rasped.

He nodded. Down one flight. Then another.

Second floor—clear. First floor—bustling.

"Ji-hoon, go through maintenance," Park's voice ordered. "Left at the janitor's closet. Use the chute."

Chute?

That 'I' found it. Metal. Narrow.

They'll never fit—

He didn't think. Just moved.

Pushed Su-yeon in first. Then followed.

Falling. Metal against back. Darkness.

Crash. Laundry bin below.

He emerged in the basement. Footsteps above.

He carried her. Through the corridor. To the rear exit.

A beep. The door unlocked.

Detective Park stood outside, engine running.

"Get in!"

They made it.

Doors slammed. Tires screamed.

Freedom again.

Ji-hoon resurfaced. Drenched. Breathing heavy.

"Is she okay?"

That 'I' nodded. "Barely."

Park spoke. "They'll chase us. But we bought time. A day. Maybe two."

Su-yeon whispered, "I can help you now."
