A Soul Crushed By Sorrow

Regionald was seething with rage, and if his eyes could shoot lightning, he would have struck Beardman down long ago.

I wiped my lips after I had finished vomiting, and I saw the royal officer draw his sword. As soon as he drew it, the sword transformed into a large and lethal hatchet.

"You'll pay for what you've done!" Regionald threatened.

As he swung his weapon, it released a light red force. I watched in horror as Beardman was hit by it. He crashed into the house wall, and due to the force's strength, the house was destroyed, sending him flying outside. He did a somersault in mid-air, but I was relieved to see that he managed to stand up on the ground.

"I didn't even get hurt from what you did. Is that all you can do?" Beardman sneered.

He charged towards Regionald, blade in hand, and then he was airborne, hurling the blade. The metallic butterflies fluttered again, their flight now aggressive.

Meanwhile, Regionald had been gathering energy using his weapon. When he had accumulated enough, he swung his weapon to release a fuchsia force. The powerful force and the butterflies collided, resulting in an explosion that almost blinded me and knocked me off balance.

I was gasping for air as I struggled to make sense of what was happening around me. We were now surrounded by a red mist, made worse by the swirling debris of the destroyed metallic butterflies.

When a strong gust of wind blew, the obstructing mist disappeared, and I caught sight of Regionald and Beardman's intense sparring match. The clanging of their weapons was sharp to my ears.

The royal guard's hatchet was enormous, but every swing and slash was blocked by Beardman using his dagger. However, Beardman seemed to be at a disadvantage due to the small size of his defensive weapon.

When he blocked Regionald's hatchet again, a crater formed where he stood. He nearly sank into the ground but managed to escape.

"Your arrogance is laughable, considering you're no match for me!" Regionald jeered, amused by Beardman's predicament.

He thought that only Beardman's dagger could save his life. But I saw Beardman drawing something in the air with his dagger, like a fire sign. When he finished, he thrust it forward with his dagger.

It was as if a seal had been broken, and subsequently, black fireballs emerged. The fireballs targeted Regionald one by one. If red flames are scorching hot, how much more intense would black flames be? They seemed like acid on fire, capable of dissolving even one's soul.

The black flames managed to melt Regionald's armor, which was made of special steel. Unable to bear the intense heat, he removed his armor, leaving only his white undergarments intact.

So that he could move more freely, he finally shed the remaining tatters of his clothing. Regionald faced Beardman completely naked, but because they were both even more muscular than the masochists in my world, this scene seemed perfectly normal.

Regionald charged forward again, and Beardman didn't back down. He countered Regionald's powerful swing, creating a strong gust of wind. I was relieved that I wasn't swept away by the fierce wind, and if it hadn't dissipated, it would have shattered the ceramics still on display in the house. The trees and plants around us were uprooted by the strong wind.

Regionald's attacks were relentless, and Beardman, now struggling, blocked each one. I wanted to help Beardman, but what could I do? If it were just a fistfight, I could have assisted him, but they had weapons and could summon powers. I felt so useless that I pulled my own hair in frustration.

While Beardman needed help, he was being hacked at by Regionald's hatchet. Regionald kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying, and I even saw blood spurt from his mouth.

"Do you have any last words, old man, before I end your life?" Regionald derided, gathering energy in his hatchet. Beardman, meanwhile, drew something in the air, resembling a wind sign. "You never say anything good, so it's better if I just finish you off!"

With a powerful swing, Regionald unleashed a strong dark blue force, but it suddenly transformed into a giant yeti wielding a club.

While Beardman floated in mid-air, he summoned a shield made of wind, but it couldn't save him as the yeti swung its club, sending him flying far away. Beardman's crash in the distant area was like a meteor impact. I couldn't imagine the force that hit Beardman.

Not only were the tall trees and exotic plants uprooted, but the ground was also bulldozed. If that had happened to me, my bones would have been shattered, and I would have been severely deformed.

The giant blue yeti made of force suddenly vanished, and I realized that Regionald, the royal guard, was no ordinary person. And if he's that strong, how powerful are the others serving the king?

I let out a sorrowful cry at the outcome of their battle. Witnessing Beardman's defeat moved me to tears. I knelt, frozen, my tears flowing continuously. As Regionald walked towards me, I backed away slowly.

Although his large manhood swinging back and forth as he walked was somewhat comical, his aura of evil radiated intensely. I picked up the sword of one of the slain royal guards and pointed it at him.

"Don't come any closer!" I shouted.

He just laughed at me, but I continued to warn him not to approach me.

"If you think you can threaten me, it's as if you think you can actually defeat me," he said, his condescending tone grating on my nerves.

"Is my sin really that grave that you're so determined to capture me?" Tears streamed down my face, but I still managed to show bravery by responding to him.

"You won't sway me with your pleading," Regionald retorted. "It wasn't long ago that you were still enjoying life with your siblings and parents, attending parties and vacations left and right. But look at you now - because of your parents' sins, you're in this pitiful condition. Don't be angry with me, or the king. Be angry with your parents, for they're the ones who put you in this situation."

"Don't speak ill of them in front of me!" I exclaimed, my anger rising. "You speak as if you didn't benefit from my parents' kindness!" Regionald approached me and slapped me on the cheek.

The force of his slap was so strong that I flew backward and hit my face on the floor.

I touched my nose to realize that I had a nosebleed.

"Maybe they were kind to me, but I never felt their kindness since your mother gave me false hope!" I spat, my anger boiling over. "Because of her kindness, I fell in love with her, but she was never going to be mine! I'm angry with her for making me fall in love. And I'm even more angry with your father because he's the one she loves!"

Regionald's words gave me a surge of strength, and I managed to get back up. He was surprised to see me standing, laughing.

"I thought you won the fight against Beardman, but what you said made me realize that all along, you were the loser."

I looked up, and when our eyes met, I gave him a piercing stare, one that would haunt him even in his sleep.

He was about to hit me, but I was shocked when his head suddenly fell to the floor. Blood gushed from his severed neck onto my face, making me look like a flower drenched in blood. Some of his blood entered my mouth, but I restrained myself from swallowing it.

I saw Beardman, and I felt a mix of relief that he was alive, but also horror at seeing Regionald's severed head. His eyes were wide open, filled with a mixture of sadness.
