Papa, the Black center, felt like he was mentally collapsing the moment he pivoted with the ball.
The guys from Kirisaki Daiichi? Every single one of them looked like gangsters, all eagerly sticking out their elbows toward him.
Thud!
With a muffled sound, Papa lost control of the ball, and Hanamiya snatched it.
What the hell?!
The coach and players of Shinkyou Academy were stunned.
They were already gearing up to cheer, but in the next moment, they saw their prized foreign center lose the ball and clutch his stomach like he was in real pain.
Tendou immediately turned and went for a fast break. Hanamiya, despite being reluctant, still passed the ball ahead.
Tendou blew past the defender and went straight to the basket, scoring with a gentle layup.
Hanamiya was clearly more interested in that big Black player than scoring.
It was like he'd been suppressed by Tendou for so long that now he wanted to release it all.
"The upperclassmen are amazing!"
"They're so aggressive!"
"Even such a huge foreign player got shut down—true iron-blooded warriors!"
The new members on the sidelines applauded, cheering for the amazing defense.
Meanwhile, Papa just wanted to cuss them out. Aggressive your ass! Didn't they see those dirty elbows?!
"Ref! Are you blind?! That was a foul!"
Not he, but they — Papa couldn't even tell exactly who had done it, only that he had caught three sharp elbows to the gut in one moment.
But the ref said he didn't see anything. And the bench at Shinkyou Academy didn't catch it clearly either.
Still, they had heard of Kirisaki Daiichi's infamous rep — these guys were basically the basketball version of kung-fu soccer hooligans.
So they knew someone pulled something dirty.
"Calm down. It's just one play. We'll get it back."
The coach clapped to keep the team focused.
After all, their goal today was to defeat a Generation of Miracles member and take the national stage.
Their center Papa was supposed to dominate the paint, draw attention, and create outside opportunities.
So they gave the ball to him again.
Papa turned to face the basket.
The next moment, Matsumoto and Furuhashi closed in with a double-team.
These guys weren't slow either — they had national-level skills.
Papa immediately felt cornered.
He remembered his coach's advice — look for the passing lanes.
But Hanamiya read his intentions in advance.
Despite having the perfect chance to intercept, Hanamiya waited until Papa committed to the pass — then dove in and caught him with another elbow.
"What the hell?!"
Papa's hair almost stood on end.
When had he ever been humiliated like this?
Hanamiya smiled wickedly and even patted his chest.
"As expected of a blackie, solid as hell. Nice elbow!"
Too dirty.
Tendou was already savage enough, but Hanamiya might be even worse.
If not for Shinkyou Academy's captain reacting quickly, Papa might have gone wild on the spot.
It wasn't just the hits — what infuriated him more was that the refs did nothing.
In this era, unless there was a clear injury or excessive movement, most dirty plays didn't get called.
But what pissed Papa off the most was that Hanamiya could've intercepted cleanly. He chose not to.
He just wanted to elbow him.
"This Japanese basketball is too damn brutal."
Still, Papa wasn't going to take it lying down.
Next offensive turn, seeing his teammate getting cooked by number 14 (Tendou), Papa stepped up, ready to throw his elbow in return.
But every motion of his was clearly seen by Tendou's Six Eyes.
"Die!"
Papa shouted in his heart and threw the elbow—
But Tendou casually sidestepped, and the elbow completely missed.
Instead, the ref saw everything and blew the whistle—on Papa.
"WHAT?! Whistle again?!"
He raged. Why am I getting called while they've been elbowing me all game?!
In his fury, Papa turned again, but this time Tendou returned the favor — with a brutal elbow to the ribs.
"Thud."
Pain flared in Papa's chest.
Tendou's elbow felt like it shattered his ribs.
That kind of blow? It surpassed human limits.
"Be a good boy, big guy. This is my turf."
Then, back on offense, Tendou moved again.
Papa jumped to block — but Tendou already saw his future movement with Six Eyes.
He switched to his left hand, pulled off a beautiful reverse layup, and scored again.
"That easy?!"
The Shinkyou Academy team finally saw it with their own eyes.
Tendou didn't even need to use any tricks — he just straight up beat them head-on.
