Chapter 65 ⇾ Are You My Little Helper Fairy?

After Chikorita got acquainted with everyone, Cole followed Helioptile to check on Buneary.

Under Helioptile's careful care, the little bunny's injuries had mostly healed, and it could hop and jump again.

After visiting Buneary, Cole left Helioptile's room and noticed the gecko following closely behind him.

He asked curiously, "Helioptile, do you have something you want to tell me?"

Hearing this, it acted unusually shy and hesitant — quite different from its normal self.

Helioptile usually had a straightforward personality, so Cole rarely saw it act this way. He couldn't help but wonder what it wanted to say.

"What's there to be shy about with me?" He patted its head and said, "If you don't tell me soon, I'm going to leave!"

He then pretended to walk away.

"Ah-bi~ Ah-bi~" — Um... um... I have a favor to ask...

Helioptile panicked and quickly called out to stop him.

"Go ahead, I'm listening!" Cole nodded.

So Helioptile stammered out its request.

Cole wasn't surprised after hearing it. With a knowing look, he said teasingly, "Oh, so that's what this is about~" drawing out the last syllable.

It turned out Helioptile wanted to ask if Buneary could stay at Mt. Ascendant, but it had been hesitating because it worried about causing trouble.

Now that the bunny's injuries had healed and it no longer needed treatment, Helioptile had finally worked up the courage to ask Cole.

But this was just a trivial matter for him — his orchard already employed so many Pokémon, what difference would one more Buneary make?

"Ah-bi~ Ah-bi~" — Buneary is hardworking, it's very diligent...

When Cole didn't immediately respond, Helioptile worried he wouldn't agree and anxiously started listing Buneary's good qualities.

"Hahaha..." Cole couldn't help but laugh at how worked up it was getting, and finally stopped teasing, "Alright, of course Buneary can stay. We could actually use more help at the orchard."

"Ah-bi~ Ah-bi~"

When Helioptile finally realized Cole had been messing with it all along, it angrily puffed up its cheeks, climbed onto his shoulder, and pulled his hair in revenge until his head looked like a bird's nest.

Cole took it down from his shoulder and pleaded, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I won't do it again. Why don't you go tell your friend the good news?"

Helioptile glared at him, then quickly jumped out of his arms and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

When Buneary learned that Cole had agreed to let it stay, it was overjoyed and vowed to repay his kindness.

From Helioptile's descriptions, it had long admired Mt. Ascendant, never imagining it would actually get to join. It jumped and called out excitedly with the gecko in the room.

After learning that Helioptile had pleaded on its behalf, Buneary was even more grateful. It hugged Helioptile affectionately, making the gecko shy.

Before dinner, Cole checked on the Flabébés again, showing care in his words but not disturbing them too much, which made them like him even more.

Looking at the berry cores left in their room, the computer playing movies, toys scattered around, and unfinished snacks... he smiled contentedly.

Everyone was so capable!

In high spirits, Cole invited all the employees to his home that evening — a rare occasion. He personally cooked them a feast and formally introduced Buneary, their newest addition to Mt. Ascendant, to everyone.

After dinner, he gave everyone massage treatments. With his psychic powers to assist, he could treat multiple Pokémon at once, making quick work of it.

This was the first massage for both Buneary and Chikorita. Their reactions mirrored Brionne and the others from before — they couldn't resist the incredibly relaxing sensation that made their whole bodies feel soft and comfortable.

Even Purrloin, initially skeptical of the massages, had completely forgotten its doubts after experiencing them several times.

There was no helping it — the massages felt too good. They could make anyone forget their worries.

After spending time with the mountain Pokémon, Gastly, Misdreavus, and Litwick were no longer constantly anxious. Now they could calmly stay with everyone, peacefully enjoying the massage treatment too.

After everyone was thoroughly relaxed, they dispersed.

Having cooked so many dishes that evening, Cole was quite tired. After everyone left, he decided to leave the leftover food and dishes for the morning and went to bed early.

Children won't grow tall if they don't get enough sleep.

After going to bed early, Cole woke up earlier than usual the next day.

Rubbing his sleepy eyes as he walked out of his room, he was stunned to find the previous night's dining room mess had vanished. He rubbed his eyes again, but he wasn't seeing things.

"Who got up so early to clean? Could it be Mom?" He muttered softly, though it seemed unlikely — his mother cherished her beauty sleep and rarely rose early.

Cole discovered even more surprises throughout the house. The dining room wasn't just clean — the kitchen's pots and pans gleamed, perfectly arranged in their cabinets.

The living room was transformed too. Tables and chairs stood perfectly aligned and polished, the floor spotless, everything in impeccable order.

Cole gazed around in amazement, wondering if a helpful house fairy had paid a visit.

Just as he pondered this, a voice snapped him back to reality.

"Bun~ Bun~" — Boss, you're up!

Cole turned to find Buneary standing shyly behind him, wearing a makeshift apron fashioned from a towel and holding a small duster crafted from cloth scraps.

He finally understood who his house fairy was.

"Did you do all this?" He asked, gesturing at the pristine living room.

"Bun~ Bun~" — Yes~ Did I miss anything?

Buneary looked anxious awaiting his response.

"No, no, you did a great job." Cole quickly assured, waving his hands. It wasn't just good—it was magical, like having a real house fairy.

Hearing his praise, Buneary released a quiet sigh of relief and said shyly:

"Bune~ Bun~" — I'll work hard from now on, I won't be a freeloader.

Despite its joy at being taken in, the little Pokémon still felt somewhat insecure.

Seeing such a diligent bunny, Cole knew he'd struck gold, "Buneary, you've done an excellent job. From now on, you'll be in charge of all the housekeeping!"

Cole's house was certainly spacious, and cleaning was no small task. Having such a helpful Pokémon was perfect.

What he didn't realize was that Buneary would prove even more capable than he imagined. After its arrival, housework would never be a concern again.

"Bun~ Bun~"

Hearing his words, Buneary hopped joyfully.

To Buneary, Cole had bestowed an important responsibility — its place in this household was now secure!

Thinking this, Buneary felt as if it had been infused with Blaziken's energy — its enthusiasm burning bright as it continued dusting with its homemade tool.

Soon Cole discovered something remarkable about this Buneary: despite its small size, it possessed incredible strength. It could lift heavy furniture — cabinets and refrigerators alike — as if they were light as feathers.

Could this bunny be some kind of legendary strongman?
