Bargain of freedom

Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she waited, frozen in terror. She could feel her pulse racing through her veins, and her breath came in short, ragged gasps. The silence was oppressive, and Sophia felt like she was going to suffocate under the weight of her own fear.

Just as she thought she couldn't take it anymore, the closet door creaked open. Sophia's eyes snapped open, and she found herself face to face with Marcus Thompson. His eyes narrowed as he gazed at her, his expression unreadable.

"Oh Sophia, you seem to be enjoying yourself, hopping into closets huh?," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're enjoying the accommodations."

Sophia's heart sank as she realized she had been caught. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat.

Marcus chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't bother trying to escape, my house is fully guarded and in no time you would be caught. Sophia You're not going anywhere."

He reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her out of the closet. Sophia stumbled, her legs trembling beneath her.

As Marcus dragged her back to her room, Sophia knew she had to think fast. She couldn't let Marcus win. She had to find a way to escape, no matter what it took.

But as she looked up at Marcus, she saw something in his eyes that made her blood run cold. It was a glint of obsession, of possession. And Sophia knew that she was in grave danger.

As Marcus dragged her back to her room, Sophia's mind was racing. She knew she had to think fast, to come up with a plan to escape.

Sophia knew that she was in grave danger.

As they reached her room, Marcus pushed her inside and slammed the door shut behind her. Sophia stumbled, her heart racing with fear.

She heard the sound of the lock clicking into place, and she knew she was trapped.

Sophia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She knew she had to think clearly, to come up with a plan.

She looked around the room, searching for anything that could help her escape. But there was nothing.

No spaced windows, closed doors, no way out.

Sophia felt a wave of despair wash over her. She was trapped, with no way to escape.

As she stood there, thinking, Sophia heard the sound of footsteps outside her door.

Marcus was coming back.

Sophia's heart sank, and she knew she had to act fast.

Marcus walked into the room, a sly smile spreading across his face. "So, Sophia, I see you're enjoying the accommodations," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Sophia stood tall, trying to hide her fear. "I just want to go home," she said, her voice firm.

Marcus chuckled. "Oh, Sophia. You're not going anywhere. You're mine now."

Sophia felt a chill run down her spine as Marcus's eyes roamed over her body. She knew she had to think fast, to come up with a plan to escape.

But before she could even think, Marcus reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her close. "You're going to make a perfect addition to my collection," he whispered, his breath hot against her ear.

Sophia struggled to break free, but Marcus's grip was too strong. She was trapped.

Just as she thought all was lost, Sophia heard a noise coming from outside the room. It was a faint knock at the door.

Marcus's head jerked up, a look of annoyance crossing his face. "What is it?" he barked.

The door opened, and Emma, the timid cook, stood in the doorway. "I-I'm sorry to interrupt, Mr. Thompson," she stammered. "But dinner is ready."

Marcus's expression softened, and he released Sophia's arm. "Very well," he said. "I'll be right there."

As Marcus turned to leave, Sophia caught Emma's eye. She saw a flicker of recognition, a hint of understanding.

Just then, Emma spoke up, her voice trembling. "Mr. Thompson, sir?"

Marcus turned back, his expression impatient. "What is it, Emma?"

"I-I think there's someone here to see you, sir," Emma stammered.

Marcus's eyes narrowed. "Who is it?"

Emma hesitated before answering. "It's Mr. Jenkins"

Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she heard her father's name. She had been wondering if he was looking for her, if he had any idea where she was.

Marcus's expression changed, a calculating glint in his eye. "Ah, Mr. Jenkins. How... convenient."

Sophia's father, John, was ushered into the room, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on Sophia. His face lit up with relief, and he rushed over to his daughter.

"Sophia, thank God I found you," he exclaimed, embracing her tightly.

Sophia hugged him back, tears of joy streaming down her face. "Dad, I was so scared," she whispered.

John pulled back, his eyes blazing with determination. "I'm here now, and I'm not leaving without you."

Marcus chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm afraid that's not possible, Mr. Jenkins I only called you here so you can see the wages of your debt."

John turned to face Marcus, his expression fierce. "Let my daughter go, Thompson. She's done nothing to you."

Marcus shrugged. "Ah, but she has. You see, Mr. Jenkins, you owe me a considerable amount of money. And Sophia here is the collateral."

John's face paled, and Sophia could see the desperation in his eyes. "Please, Marcus. Have mercy."

Marcus sneered. "Mercy? You should have thought of that before you defaulted on the loan."

Sophia felt a surge of anger towards Marcus. How could he be so heartless?

But her father's next words stopped her cold.

"I'll do anything, Marcus. Just please, don't hurt my daughter."

Sophia's eyes widened in horror as she realized what her father was saying. He was willing to do anything to save her, even if it meant sacrificing himself.

And in that moment, Sophia knew she had to act. She couldn't let her father sacrifice himself for her. She had to find a way to escape, no matter what it took.

Sophia's eyes locked onto her father's, and she saw the desperation and fear lurking there.

Marcus, sensing John's desperation, smiled cruelly. "Ah, Mr. Jenkins, you're willing to do anything to save your precious daughter?"

John nodded, his eyes pleading. "Yes, anything."

Marcus chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Very well, Mr. Jenkins. I'll give you a choice. You can either pay off the debt in full, or..."

Marcus paused, his eyes roving over Sophia's body. "Or you can offer me something else of value."

Sophia's heart sank as she realized what Marcus was implying. He wanted her, and he was willing to do whatever it took to get her.

John's face paled, and he took a step back, horror etched on his face. "No, never," he spat.

Marcus shrugged. "Suit yourself, Mr. Jenkins. But know this: if you don't come up with the money, Sophia will be mine."

Sophia felt a chill run down her spine as Marcus's eyes locked onto hers. She knew she had to escape, and fast.

As Marcus turned to leave, With newfound determination, John turned to his daughter.

"Sophia, don't worry. I'll get you out of here" his eyes filled with tears as he looked at his daughter. "I'm so sorry, Sophia. I should have protected you."

Sophia smiled, trying to reassure him. "We'll get through this, Dad. Together."

As they hugged, Sophia's mind was racing as she watched her father leave, the door locking behind him.

She knew she had to come up with a plan, and fast. She couldn't let Marcus win.
