He found the audio settings and turned the sound on.
"The room reeks of turmeric," said Eva after she shifted back.
Coralis kneeled next to the patient, placed her left hand on her chest and stared down into her eyes. She searched for her wolf.
"The spell is stronger than last year. Her wolf is completely feral and unhinged, the connection between human and wolf is all destroyed, but I should be able to reverse it once the summoning spell is out of her system."
"We caught the fay who did this last year."
"We're dealing with a different one, a stronger one."
A yellow glow could be seen coming out of Coralis, and A fell asleep. Jessica approached the patient with a second syringe filled with a sedative and injected it.
"For good measure."
"Won't hurt. I managed to override the spell, but I don't know how long it will take for the fay to regain control."
Emma passed the chains around A's wrists and ankles. They stepped away from the bed and walked out of the room. Sebastian and Emery stood by the door and followed them.
"Does anyone of you have a portal? We're dealing with a summoning spell made by a fay, involving a high concentration of turmeric. I need supplies to reverse it," said Coralis, turning her face to look at Jessica. "The patients you have in the emergency room, have they been bitten?"
"Yes," said Jessica.
"I already have one opened in a janitor's closet in the lobby. High Fay Ellya is supposed to walk through it at some point. I can go to headquarters to collect what you need, or take another one from there."
"CMMA should have what we need, I raided their supplies last year," said Eva.
She gave him the list of what they used the last time they dealt with this situation.
"I'll go get it now."
Emery left, and the group headed to the next room. They didn't have the name of the room 3A patient either, so on file, she was written as Patient B. Frank and Stephanie saw them doing the same thing they did on the previous patient, and Sebastian standing by the door.
"I take that Sebastian wasn't involved in the previous case they were talking about?"
"No, he wasn't an intern yet at the CMMA. Blue probably placed him on wards duty."
"I see you too started calling her like that. I really need to ask her about it, I keep forgetting."
"We're among supernatural. When you're with other supernatural, except maybe for Sebastian and your friend Victoria, even you should call her like that. She doesn't want her world to know about her real name. I don't know why she doesn't want her people to know, but I respect it, even if we're just the two of us in a small room."
The group headed to another room. After the third patient fell asleep, they headed to the emergency room.
"There is something I should tell you," said Sebastian as Coralis and Eva approached Clarissa, who was strapped to a bed. "When I arrived here with Emery… I saw Frank in the lobby."
"Wait WHAT?" Coralis said, turning fast to look at him.
Before Sebastian could answer anything, Emma and Jessica felt disturbances in the wards.
"Someone is approaching the wards from the forest… in the southwest corner of the property line," said Emma.
"We need to go check it out, NOW," said Coralis to Eva.
They ran through the door. Coralis stopped before she turned into the hallway and looked at Sebastian.
"Please make sure all rooms are heavily warded against any intruders."
Once outside, Coralis felt for the wards she created and immediately knew where the disturbances were coming from. Frank and Stephanie tried to find the cameras pointing in the direction Coralis and Eva were heading.
"Just by watching what's going down, I'm starting to understand why people want my girlfriend out of the picture and why she's overloaded with work. Think the camera here can turn, but I don't think there's audio on that one."
"I told you she was skilled. Even Mom knows."
Coralis and Eva saw a fay approaching them. They stopped walking.
"High Fay Zaaro?" they both said at the same time.
"What in gods world are you two doing here? You aren't supposed to be here tonight."
Coralis sensed his energy. He matched the signature she felt in each patient.
"It's you. You're the one trying to summon the wolf out of them," said Coralis, bracing herself to fight.
She quickly looked at Eva, whose eyes were switching back and forth between hers and her wolf's. The fay raised his palms toward Coralis and she was thrown backward in the air toward the trees. She turned on herself and landed on the ground in her panther form before she hit it. She shifted back to herself. High Fay Zaaro was focused on her and wasn't paying attention to Eva, who stood in her wolf form next to him.
"Nice try," she said as she grabbed her wand in her left hand and raised her right palm toward his chest.
She made him think that she was about to enter his mind. As her energy poked the surface of his eyes, he raised his palms again. She shifted it to his hands and turned the air around them into ice particles.
Meanwhile, Emery reached out to Sebastian's hologram. He was ready to come back. Sebastian reopened the portal and Emery walked through it, followed by High Fay Ellya and High Mage Finnas.
"I see you brought backups. Blue and Eva are out back to check a disturbance in the property wards."
"They must have been gone for a good 20 minutes," said Emma.
"I'll go check on them," said High Mage Finnas and went outside.
"Who can tell me what exactly happened tonight? I'm High Fay Ellya, one of the elders at the CMMA," she said, looking at Emma and Jessica.
Emma proceeded to explain in detail the flow of events and how it resembled a similar case they had the previous year.
High Mage Finnas quickly found where Coralis and Eva were. High Fay Zaaro threw Eva against a tree and Coralis was in the process of summoning a thick fog, which she manipulated to restrain High Fay Zaaro movements. She made it thick enough that it was preventing his energy from passing through. He tried to push against it.
"ENOUGH!" boomed High Mage Finnas. "Zaaro, mind to tell me what you are doing here?"
Coralis interrupted the spell she was doing and lowered her hands. She collapsed on her knees. Eva got back to her paws and strolled back to Coralis.
"Ahh Finnas! I do not need to tell you anything."
"Ooooh, but you will."
Without warning, High Mage Finnas raised his left hand, palm facing the sky. He bent his fingers as if he was grabbing an apple and slightly twisted his wrist anti-clockwise. High Fay Zaaro felt to the ground, unconscious.
"Blue Thunder and Eva Suri, can you please bind him and bring him over to the Healing Moon lobby?"
High Mage Finnas returned to the clinic lobby and looked at High Fay Ellya.
"High Fay Zaaro is involved. Eva Suri and Blue Thunder caught him out back."
"Are they okay?" said Sebastian.
"Yes, they are, although I think Blue Thunder is extremely low in energy, she was performing a very strong spell to contain him when I got there. They'll be here soon."
"Are they still fighting him?" said High Fay Ellya.
"No. I believe they had it under control, but I rendered him unconscious when he wouldn't tell me anything. They are binding him and will bring him here when done," said High Mage Finnas, and looked at Sebastian. "Are there any humans on the premises?"
"Yes, two. I locked them up in the security room and warded the room. They already knew about our world, so there was no exposition breach. I'll go make Blue a mighty monster juice."
Frank and Stephanie couldn't watch the entire fight, as it was out of camera range for a good portion of it, but they saw the end of it and High Mage Finnas intervention. They watched Coralis and Eva binding their opponent.
"What's a mighty monster juice? Do you think it's over? I mean, is it safe for us to walk out? I want to go to Coralis right now."
