LIMITL3SS

I awake amongst dwindling stars. The void that consumes all. Nothing. Yet, everything, all at once. For I am past, present, and future. It is a bore when I awake, since I have no eyes. Only if my dreams would last forever. I would love that.

Overlooking the world, a pristine tower nestled in the heart of the Germanlands. The North Atlantic Diplomacy Organization (NADO) summit had just come to a conclusion. On its top floor, a long table sat surrounded with few familiar faces, and countless unfamiliar ones. Hubert Maelstrom, a renowned war criminal and bounty hunter, tosses his knife up and down while eyeing UC Secretary of Defense, Victor Caine.

"If no one explains why I've been invited here soon, I'ma start to assume this was a trap to finally catch me." Maelstrom jests.

"As much as it'd be a pleasure to finally give you the chair, I don't believe you're the main concern here." Victor says as his eyes dart over to where a stream of magma rises from the floor to create a doorway. A scrawny fellow springs forth and stretches his arms, breathing in the earthly air his size doubles almost instantly.

"Oh how I've missed the smell of human despair, it's so pure up here, I feel amazing. Hey, do you think Elijah is still alive? I gotta show that bastard a piece of my mind." The being says as he materializes a wicked greatsword seemingly out of thin air.

Another being steps out of the doorway, a grotesque obese beast of a man with rows of teeth that line his stomach. Waddling into the open room behind the first creature, it yawns. "Oh Baal, you know that humans don't live that long. Elijah probably died over 500 years ago." The being said before burping.

"That's fine Bel, we'll simply slaughter all of his current kin." Baal states.

"But Baal, that sounds exhausting, let's not make this trip any longer please."

A green fog clouds the room suddenly before swirling into the form of a man who hovers down into one of the seats at the table. "Rest assured Belphegor, Demon Prince of Sloth, your Elijah bore no children. No bloodline to quell. Also, I'm not sure if there's a significant time difference in Hell but historically speaking, Elijah must have died over 2,800 years ago." The mysterious man eloquently said.

Baal points his sword at the man who returns with a blank stare. "And just who do you think you are, smarty?"

"Someone so far beyond what your infernal comprehension could bear, but you could call me Charles." The man said with a smirk, his jade green eyes beginning to glow.

Victor rests his head on his fist and snickers to Maelstrom. "You hear that? Demon, he says. Still think this is just about you?" Maelstrom taps his visor to analyze these so-called Demons. The fog from before clouds his vision when he turns to Charles. He starts to feel a cold chill up his spine and as he makes eye contact with the man, Maelstrom's visor short circuits and breaks.

"Gah!" Maelstrom yelps as he begins to hold the side of his head.

Victor just chuckles in the background. Although, Hubert did have a point. Victor could see all manner of supervillain, gang leader, corrupt politician, demonic being or abomination scattered around the room. Why had they been invited here?

Suddenly, a bright light blinds the room, after a flash, a lifeform falls on the table. It stands around average human height but is completely featureless. Its skin is an obsidian black completely devoid of light, however it has glowing orbs that circle its body.

"Howdy Fellas! How are we doing?" The being cheerily shouts. The room is dead silent.

Charles couldn't believe what he was hearing. This being spoke in a language that was only discernible to him and a few others. Symbols bore into their minds like dying stars. He watched as many of the humans in the room either bled from their ears or vomited into their laps. Victor struggled to steel himself together as a stream of blood ran down his neck, wiping it quickly.

"My apologies, I often forget to speak in a tone understandable to 3rd dimensional beings." The being chuckles.

Baal points his blade at the godly creature. "You speak in God Tongue! What are you!"

"I'm better. Which brings me to why I've brought you all here today."

Maelstrom wipes the vomit from his mouth. "I think I wish it was a trap instead of whatever the fuck this is."

"I've come today to warn you all of your impending doom."

The room falls silent once more.

"Preposterous." Charles scoffs.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Baal yells.

"What?!" Victor questions.

"Finally!" Belphegor yawns.

"Oh, fuck this, I'm outta here!" Maelstrom says before vanishing in a small puff of black smoke.

After a moment of silence, the conference hall erupts in a roar of questions and threats.

"Woah woah, calm down everyone! Let's cut straight to the chase shall we. I'm from the future, and in that future, I obliterate every single one of you that are currently in this room, as well as countless others who aren't."

In the blink of an eye, Charles teleports across the room before the being. "I'd suggest you stop playing around with forces you don't understand. I am-"

"You are what? The High Priest of the Great Old Ones, the Great Dreamer, the Sleeper of R'yleh. Your name means nothing to me, currently, that is." The being blinks over to the window and watches life flourish below. "As I was saying, in the future, I completely annihilate the forces of good and evil, I spread my conquest across the multiverse destroying anyone in my path, I swallow the Blind Idiot God, Azathoth, whole and recreate my image of the universe in the pits of my stomach.

Charles shudders at the mention of Azathoth. Victor remains calm as everyone else in the room including the demons begin to cower in fear.

"So what now? You've come back in time to gloat?" Victor questions.

The being warps directly in front of Victor, although the being doesn't have eyes, Victor can feel it staring into the depths of his soul. "Something like that! I've conquered the universe a plethora of times now, but there's this pesky little demi God who resets the universe every time I do. So we made a bet."

"This is insane." Charles mutters.

"Sometime soon, I will be born in this universe, a regular human devoid of any of the information or abilities that I have now. A complete blank slate. The petty God-ling believes I wouldn't have gotten this far if any of my enemies had proper time to prepare. So here we are, you all have 60 earth years until I take over everything."

"Then tell us your human name, as soon as we're done here, I'll-" Baal demands.

"I'd be a fool to tell you anything like that. Remember what y'all did to Jesus?" The being laughs. "Don't worry, my vessel's identity will become clearer as time passes and the bodies start piling. Happy Hunting!" With the conclusion of his sentence, the being disappears
