The moment those words hit my ears, the fear inside me disappeared along with my sanity. All that was left was rage. Bubbling rage that was a testament to my clear need for anger management classes.
"Look here pal, I don't know who you think you are-" I started saying as I picked myself off the ground.
But I was quickly interrupted by the douchebag croc as he came forward and said, "How rude of you not to introduce us, Felix. I'm sorry about him. Our mother cracked his egg so he's not right in the head."
The fire inside me died as quickly as it had come.
Was I really having a normal conversation with a feral? It was like deja vú. Also, what was with the cracked egg comment? Was it like dropping a baby on the head?
Wait, that's not the issue here. I'm having a conversation with a would-be kidnapper. Maybe I have a knack with ferals and kidnappers.
Oh gosh, I've really lost it this time. Here I am trying to hear out this beastman instead of trying to escape.
"Okay, well then I'll be going." I murmured, about to turn away when the beastman blocked my way with a hand.
"Wait." The beastman ordered. "Felix's method was rude, but you're still coming with us. We're going to make you our clan's queen."
And like a switch, the raging fire in me was back to boiling my blood.
"Look here…" I started, waiting for a name.
He quickly supplied one. "Matthew and Chris over there."
"Alright Matthew." I nodded in thanks, somewhat surprised that I hadn't popped off yet. "I get you're looking for a mate or whatever, but I'm not that girl… I mean female. Go find someone else since I'm not interested."
I turned away, ready to walk away from a bizarre situation when I felt a hand grip my shoulder. Can these three stop with the mixed signals?! One minute they're acting like ferals trying to kidnap me and the next, they're trying to butter me up.
"Brother… We spoke about this." Matthew called out as I turned to look at the culprit.
Chris was standing behind me with a hard look on his face. I tried wiggling my shoulder, but it didn't work and made him only tighten his grip.
"Let go." I growled, hand moving to open my pepper spray.
My dumbass should've used it a long time ago. Damn it, why did I only think about it now.
"You will come with us." Chris stated nonchalantly. "A female like you needs strong mates. A clan to support you. You'll come to like us soon enough."
"That's not how you get a girl, bud. Or how you should treat one." I hissed as I aimed the pepper spray in his face. "Now let go."
He tried to throw his hand out to cover his face, releasing his grip on me. But the pepper spray got him in the eyes before he could fully block the attack and he cried out in pain, letting go of me.
Just as something jumped out the trees overhead. Not sure what it was because my ass was too busy getting out of there.
Felix tried making a grab for me, but something wrapped around my waist. Next thing I knew, I was in the trees, Ahi hugging me tightly.
"I failed to protect you." Ahi murmured sadly as he checked over me.
The poor guy looked ready to cry, but we didn't have time for that. The croc brothers were unlikely going to give up this easily.
"I'm fine." I declared, hoping to calm Ahi. "You can avenge me by killing them."
Yeah, killing people is horrible and as much as I hated the idea, this was a dog eat dog world. Those brothers had proven already they'll keep up the stalking and kidnapping until they got me.
I could honestly do without the extra stress of having to look over my shoulder all the time. It was better to end it all before we got to the village.
Besides, I think it'll boost Ahi's morale and make him feel a little better. And I was right as Ahi nodded his head, settling me on a high branch before disappearing.
I held onto the moss covered branch for dear life, wondering why I had not asked to be let down on the ground first. High places weren't my thing and the sounds of battle going on below me made things worse.
Thankfully for my near failing heart, the sounds soon came to an end and Ahi appeared. He looked freshly showered, making me suspect he cleaned up before coming back here. How he did that so fast, only the Beast God knows.
Maybe it was his elemental power.
He placed me in his arms, throwing my bag over his shoulder while I held on with everything I had. Soon we were out the trees and back on lovely solid ground.
We traveled for a bit in silence, my emotions tornadoing like crazy inside me. I didn't know how to feel and just wanted to crawl under a comforter and cry everything away.
The next best thing was the nook of Ahi's shoulder which became my head's favorite place as I hustled into it, inhaling Ahi's earthy scent. I wanted to go back home, but that was impossible. This new world was my new home whether I liked it or not.
And right now, I wasn't liking it.
But before I could even process anything else, a voice suddenly called out, "Stop feral! That female is mine."
I lifted my head to glare at the idiot who had stopped us, ready to give him a piece of my mind. I'd had it with all this crap about belonging to others.
I'm not a damn procession!
"I'm not your female, you piece of shit!" I cried out as I glared at the beastman, only to have my jaw drop in shock.
A lean, blond haired guy, likely in his late teens, was standing in front of us with his arms on his hips, completely naked and with his junk out for the world to see.
At least the crocs wore animal skin skirts when they were around me. It was only that first day and Felix wasn't so open…
"Put some clothes on, you damn freak!" I cried out, turning my head away.
"Female…" The weirdo beastman murmured, sounding like a kicked puppy.
But I wasn't in the mood. This day had been mostly shitty and I wanted it to end already. I wasn't going to waste my time on this fool.
"Ahi, let's get moving." I turned to face Ahi. "I'm tired and want to rest."
"No, wait!" The beastman called out. "I saved you, so have a right to be your male."
"You're saved me from nothing." I growled, resisting the urge to glare at him. "Ahi here is the one who saved me-"
"No! He stole you away while I took down the crocodiles." The beastman interrupted.
To which I shot back. "Well, I don't care. Ahi is mine and is more likely to be my mate than you. So get lost kid."

The blue screen suddenly popping up surprised me and it took a second to realize that Ahi liked what I said. I didn't even notice that the beastman had transformed.
