Files on the Alien

"Hey, Jav" Aurora greeted the Martian scientist, one of the handful of aliens that work onboard the star ship alongside the human crew. His real name was actually some complex Martian name that did not have a translation in any earth language, and somehow along the way they moved from calling him 'the Martian' to calling him Jav; how that name came about, Aurora could not recall at the moment.

"Yes, miss Aurora" Jav said, it seems he was being nice today, usually it is more of 'what do you want now?' accompanied by a loud groan, yes, he is usually pretty lazy, plus he is not her biggest fan.

"It seems you are in a good mood today, Jav" Aurora pointed out, hoping she would not jinx it.

"Don't ruin it, what do you want?" he asked

"Not much really," she said coming to seat by him in front of the lab table on which he was currently running some research, "I would just like you to help me check something"

"And again I ask what is it?" Jav repeated, completely abandoning the papers in front of him as he turned to face her fully

"Do you know of the alien that was brought in two days ago?" she asked,

"The one that they are currently trying to revive in the medical department? Yeah, I know, or is there any other?"

"Yes, that's the one I am talking about, no other" Aurora said, "So, I have been trying to find out what planet he is from, so we can better understand his biological makeup to, you know, help him"

"And also because you do not trust this 'alien' and you want to verify he is not hostile and he would not be harmful to us and our mission, and also because you are generally worrisome and you are wary about why he was travelling alone" Jav said, his annoying sassy nature coming back to the surface

"Right" Aurora said, he wasn't wrong after all. "It is just that I can't seem to get a read on him, and I have checked and researched thoroughly, of course" she said standing up to follow him as he stood up and walked to some other side of the expansive all white laboratory.

"Of course" he said, "And now you need my help because, you only come to Jav only when your pretty little brain no longer knows what to do, am I right or am I right?" he asked, sounding entirely sassy

"Well, maybe" she wouldn't agree that he was right, it would only increase this blue alien's ego and he would laud it over her for months. They have the unspoken battle of who is the better one among the two of them. He helps her today; he scores one over her, then she helps him tomorrow; she scores one over him. So far she is winning, if he helps her today, however, the stats may change, but she really needs his help, she seems to have reached a dead end on the damn alien that came in two days and she really can't rest until she knows all she can about the alien. It is just how she is built.

"Well, you are in luck because I am just as curious about our foreign new addition as you and unlike you, I have done a thorough background check and wasn't met with a roadblock" he said, handing her a dossier, "There, that is all I found on our friend"

Aurora weighed the dossier in her hand, it was rather light, "This is it, like all of it?"

"Well, I am sorry, Aurora, but I believe that is a dossier more than what you found, isn't it?" Jav threw back

Aurora didn't really have anything to say, the Martian was right once again, who was she to be complaining about the weight of what he had found on the alien when she had barely found anything herself. Sheepishly she looked down as she began flipping through the few pages of the dossier. It was less than ten, just six pages and the first only contained 'Files on the Alien' in bold and font '72 (she was sure), the second was a full page picture of the alien, the third page however had more words, she closed it there before the fourth, fifth and sixth end up being disappointments.

"I will admit however, that it is not much" Jav was saying as she looked back up at him, "but it was all I could find with the little I had to use"

"It's fine, thank you, Jav" Aurora said

"Of course it is, more than just fine even. I don't do 'just fine', Aurora. I am all about perfection" he said flipping his silky hair as blue as his skin with his four fingered humanoid hand in a really sassy pose, looking hundred percent the sassy king is.

"Of course" she agreed this time, he just scored one over her anyway, no need arguing his perfection or lack of it with him. "Well, I would just get to it then"

"Yeah, but not here, I am sort of busy and would rather not have your depressing presence here to kill my vibes" he told her as he walked back to where he had been sat earlier, returning to the work he was doing.

She rolled her eyes and turned to leave, just before she could however, he called her back as he said in a lowered voice, "I did see something a bit weird about our friend though, that makes me think we didn't do the best thing by bringing it onboard our ship"

"What do you mean?" Aurora asked as she came closer, completely vested in what he was saying.

"I mean not that it is harmful to us, I am not sure it is," he replied, "but, there is something entirely off about it, something just not right, that I can't place my fingers on. Go thoroughly through it, I mean of course you will; you are Aurora, and hopefully, you would have more luck with finding out what it is off, than I did"

Aurora nodded and he nodded in return, dismissing her with a cock of his head as he went back to his work.

If it was possible, Aurora was now even more interested in knowing more about this alien than before.
