We are the same

The first thing Adalyn recorded about Logan Hudson was his eyes. He didn't have an expression on his face but his eyes said a lot of things to her when he leaned closer to kiss her.

Adalyn quavered because he kissed her lips with his eyes staring into her eyes as if he was planning to touch her eyeballs with his.

"How intriguing," he licked around his lips as he pulled back, leaving Adalyn shocked and tense.

Adalyn looked at the people witnessing her wedding with the weirdest man ever and swallowed again. 'They weren't murmuring about me. It was about him,' she learnt a new thing that struck her so hard she fell back.

However, Logan didn't let that happen again. He grabbed her by her waist. While Adalyn was looking fearfully into his sharp intimidating blue eyes, she felt her body move in a direction.

Everyone clapped for the newly wed couple upon seeing Logan Hudson carrying his monster wife, Adalyn Rose who was now Adalyn Hudson.

"Adalyn Hudson," he uttered as he walked down from the altar. Adalyn stayed gently in his arms as he carried her princess style but her head was in chaos. She was scared of the man she had just married.

He was a very tall man and as she stood beside him, she perceived the overwhelming aura he possessed. How was she going to survive living with him? How was she going to survive the marriage with…him?

Adalyn couldn't move her gaze from Logan. It was as if Logan had cursed her to never look away from him but she was just very curious and worried.

'Am I dreaming?' she wondered to herself.

"Congratulations, Mr Hudson," she heard her father's voice but when she was about to turn her head to her father, Logan placed his hand on her face to stop her from seeing her father.

"And you too, Mr Rose," Logan answered.

"I don't see your family anywhere around…" Erica was curious.

Logan didn't feel the need to have a conversation with the Rose anymore because he had gotten what he wanted so he just walked past them with his bride and out of the hall.

Erica shivered as he walked past her. "He doesn't have a family," she registered another shocking truth about Logan Hudson. "Did we make the right decision?" She looked at her husband because now that she felt the chills coming from Logan, she feared for her daughter who was going to spend the rest of her life with the man.

"We did the right thing. They are both monsters," Philip dragged his wife closer to comfort her because she was feeling tense again.

Logan went through the backdoor where the media and the wedding guest wouldn't be. His personal car was packed there as he came prepared. He didn't expect the Rose family to invite so many people but when he found out, he plotted a way out.

He brought his wife into his car and stretched as if Adalyn was too heavy to carry.

The next moment, he was in the driver's seat. He started the car engine and accelerated out of the building.

"Are you scared of me?" His question was unexpected so it made Adalyn jump in shock. "That's an answer," he smirked.

Adalyn had been thinking about how she hadn't failed in killing herself. She married an evil person who wouldn't mind killing her but why was she scared when all she wanted was to leave this world.

"Do you have anything you want to take with you?" Logan asked.

Adalyn couldn't look his way because she was scared. "I…" she was even shaking in the car.

Logan suddenly stopped the car only for Adalyn to realize that they were in a gas station. She watched Logan as he filled the car with gas but only for a while and she looked away. She expected him to be done in a few minutes but he took longer.

When she decided to open the door, she learned that she was locked in the car. Adalyn scoffed. "Do you think I'm going to run away?"

"I literally can't wait for you to kill me, Logan," she smiled to herself, now playing with her fingers as she waited for her newly wed husband.

Logan returned, tossing a nylon bag full of stuff on her thigh. "You are not dying," he simply mentioned as if he knew her plan. "Eat up," he instructed.

"Why should I listen to you?" Adalyn wasn't shivering like before.

"You don't have to," Logan smirked again but even creepier than before. Adalyn was still not shaken. She stared at him without an expression on her face.

Logan, seeing this, decided to start the car but he did it in a very harsh way that almost brought Adalyn's heart out of her chest.

She began to quaver again. "Eat up," he said again and drove out of the gas station.

Adalyn was surprised to see the bag on her legs. Even though she didn't want to eat, she had to because she was scared of Logan.

She grabbed the burger in her hand and bit through it. Unexpectedly, she felt tears dropping from her chin as she chewed the food in her mouth.

She missed John.

Burger was John's best snack. He'd eat that before Adalyn cooked for him but would always feed her some while she cooked.

Happy and beautiful memories returned to her as she ate the burger. However, she wiped her tears continuously. Her heart was hurting but she had to suppress the pain because she was already married to a wild man.

Adalyn had a lot to ask Logan but she was too scared to utter a word. So, she grabbed her phone and typed what she wanted to ask him.

She was about to show him when she saw the steering wheel in his hands. Adalyn pushed back her move to show him her phone screen and summon the courage to speak.

"Lo–gaa–aan," it was so hard to pronounce his name. She thought she had lost every breath she possessed.

Logan didn't look her way but she continued. "How did you know that I haven't eaten?" She said so fast and stuffed her mouth with food.

Silence reigned in the car for a moment as if Logan didn't hear what she said. "You are my wife, Adalyn, you are not dying yet," he answered.

Adalyn was disappointed upon hearing his answer. She married a man who was just like her parents–making decisions for her as if she was a child.

She stopped eating and looked away. "Where are you going? Where are you taking me?" She became upset, which was when she usually had the bravery to express herself.

"Adalyn, you are married to me. You are going to live with me from now on," Logan couldn't believe he had to explain that to her.

"What are you?" She asked. "Why is everything about you so…"

"You think I'm a monster too?" He glanced at her once.

"You are a monster. Who kisses with their eyes open?" She muttered under her breath the question.

"You," Logan answered, stunning Adalyn. She became less scared the more she talked with him.

"Just…what are you?"

"I'm like you, Adalyn. We are the same. That's why I had to get you the moment I knew of your existence," Logan said and stopped the car. "Come on, go and get your things, we are leaving."

Adalyn looked around to understand what he meant only to realize that she was at her parent's house. Confused Adalyn, went out of the car slowly to get her things but his statement kept on ringing in her head.

'We are the same?' she wondered. 'If we are the same, does that mean…' Adalyn looked back at Logan's car. 'I'm truly a monster. My parents aren't wrong for marrying off to him. We are the same but still…what are we?'
