Overview
The Universe Tournament is an interdimensional competition held by two incomprehensibly powerful beings known as Concept and Beyond Concept. These entities, whose powers transcend infinity and the very notion of existence itself, created this tournament as a method of maintaining balance across the multiverses. With the vast number of multiverses growing unchecked, the two beings devised this event as both a means of regulation and entertainment, ensuring that the fabric of reality remains stable while providing an arena for the strongest warriors to clash in battles of unparalleled brutality.
Origin & Purpose
The tournament was conceived over 900 years ago, forged by Concept, a being whose power extends beyond infinite limitations, and Beyond Concept, who wields abilities beyond even the notion of power itself. They traveled across countless realities, witnessing innumerable tournaments, before ultimately deciding to craft their own—the Universe Tournament. Their primary objective was to prevent an excess of multiverses from causing an unstable collapse, and instead of merely erasing universes outright, they chose to make the process more engaging by creating a grand contest.
Tournament Structure & Stakes
The Universe Tournament is structured as a 1v1 elimination tournament, with 16 chosen fighters, each representing their respective multiverse. The stakes of losing escalate as the rounds progress:
First Round Loss → Minor destruction within the losing fighter's multiverse.
Second Round Loss → Half of the losing multiverse is destroyed.
Third Round Loss (Semi-Finals) → Near-total annihilation of the losing multiverse.
Finals Loss → The losing multiverse is completely erased from existence.
Even the deities and supreme beings of the defeated multiverses are erased permanently, demonstrating the unfathomable power of Concept and Beyond Concept.
Arena & Location
The battles take place in a massive, colossal rectangular arena, typically suspended in a vast, empty void of space. While Concept initially considered hosting the tournament on Earth 001, the original Earth, he ultimately decided that any location drenched in infinite darkness would suffice.
Selection Process
The fighters are chosen through a rigorous selection process spanning across infinite multiverses. The selection trials include:
1. Physical Test – Evaluates raw physical capabilities.
2. Power & Abilities Test – Judges the nature and potency of the warrior's abilities.
3. 1v1 Simulation Battle – A test battle where only those who emerge victorious are considered.
Even if a warrior passes all trials, it does not guarantee selection, as Concept personally handpicks the most entertaining and powerful contenders. Those whose universes are destroyed in the tournament but pass all trials are absorbed into the Champion Universe.
Champion Rewards
The victorious warrior spares their universe from destruction and is rewarded with unlimited resources across the multiverse along with unimaginable power.
Tournament Evolution
Originally, the Universe Tournament was intended to feature only eight fighters, but Concept increased the number to sixteen to heighten the spectacle. Before the tournament officially begins, selected fighters are granted six months to train, allowing them to push their abilities beyond their limits before entering the battlefield.

Tournament Arena
The tournament takes place in an immense, city-sized battlefield, a fully generated replica of various Earth-like cities such as New York, Tokyo, or London. This ever-changing battleground provides fighters with ample terrain for combat, including towering skyscrapers, underground tunnels, and vast streets.
Barrier Restrictions: The arena is enclosed within an invisible boundary, preventing any attempts to escape. Any fighter who tries to breach the barrier will be instantly erased.
Multiversal Broadcast: Every battle is streamed live across the 16 participating universes, allowing audiences from different dimensions to witness the carnage in real time.
Death is Permanent: Once a fighter is killed, their body is erased from existence. The victorious fighter is immediately teleported back to their home universe to prepare for the next match.

Tournament Rules
General Combat Rules
No Weapons Unless Natural to the Fighter's Abilities:
Weapons that are an extension of a fighter's abilities are permitted.
Weapons that contain supernatural power but are not linked to the fighter's core abilities are prohibited.
No External Healing Items:
Fighters cannot use healing items unless they are summoned through their own abilities.
Healing abilities are limited to four uses per match.
Healing & Reviving Restrictions
Fighters with resurrection abilities have a countdown timer; if they do not return to full form before it reaches zero, they are eliminated.
Fighters with infinite healing have restricted regeneration:
Minor wounds heal at a normal rate.
Major wounds take significantly longer to recover from.
This rule does not affect fighters with standard healing abilities that are not infinite.
Match Duration & Combat Engagement
No Time Limit: A match ends only when one fighter is killed.
Stalemates: If a fight drags on for days, a five-minute sudden death timer is enforced.
No Hiding: Fighters who avoid direct combat for three minutes will be disqualified and erased.
Double Kills & Replacements
If both fighters die simultaneously, the match is considered a tie.
In the case of a tie, the tournament organizers may select new combatants from the same universe as the fallen warriors to fill the slot.
