The Kim siblings went out of the car after parking at the school grounds. As expected, the three got the attention of mostly everyone in the parking lot — they were head-turners after all. In fact, even if Taehyung had a birthmark on his left cheek, he still looked ethereal.
Taehyung grabbed his backpack and placed one strap over his shoulder.
"Oppa, aren't you forgetting something?" Yoo Jung asked.
"Not really." Taehyung said.
"Your walking stick." Yoo Jung said.
"I don't want to use it anymore. It's a bully-magnet. In fact, I think without it, my LLD isn't that obvious as long as I don't run, don't stand straight and walk in longer strides." Taehyung said.
"But, hyung, you might get out-of-balance and fall." Minkyu said.
Taehyung chuckled bitterly, "Minkyu, I still fall with it, especially when somebody just suddenly kicks it away from me while I'm walking."
"Okay, fine. But, just be careful, okay oppa?" Yoo Jung said.
"Yes, eomma." Taehyung said as he playfully pinched his sister's cheek.
The three headed to the admin building first with Yoo Jung in the middle, her arms hooked on her brothers' arms.
They got their class cards reflecting their schedules and location of their classes. Taehyung and Yoo Jung will be attending the same subjects as they were taking the same course — Fine Arts. Minkyu on the other hand, was taking Quantitative Economics. He's a math genius like his father.
"See you at the parking lot after the last period." Taehyung told Minkyu.
"Sure thing, hyung. You two, behave okay?" Minkyu said.
"Ya! Kim Minkyu, we're older than you." Yoo Jung said.
"Then act like it." Minkyu said in a teasing tone before leaving the two.
"Aish, this disrespectful brat." Yoo Jung said.
"Ignore him. Let's go. We don't want to be late for class." Taehyung said.
As they were walking beside each other, Yoo Jung noticed a group of guys approaching them so she immediately took Taehyung's hands and intertwined their fingers.
"YJ, this again?" Taehyung said.
"Just go with the flow, oppa. We do look good together." Yoo Jung said.
"That sounds so wrong in so many levels." Taehyung said as he cringed at his sister's statement.
Yoo Jung ignored her brother and as she expected, the group of guys halted and decided to stay clear from them.
"Always works like a charm." Yoo Jung said.
They entered the classroom and Taehyung immediately noticed half of the class looking at them. He scanned the room and saw that there were several empty chairs, but on the second row. He sighed as he doesn't like sitting in front of the class. Unfortunately for him, they didn't have a choice.
He pulled Yoo Jung towards the empty chairs as he sat on the aisle seat, while his sister sat beside him.
"I hope they don't ask new students to come in front for introduction. It's so grade school. Plus, they'll know that we're siblings." Yoo Jung whispered.
A few minutes later, Taehyung felt a heavy weight on his chest and slight pain on his head as if something inside him was going to burst. It's the first time he's experiencing it and he was confused as to what was happening.
"Oppa, are you okay?" Yoo Jung asked as she noticed Taehyung massaging his head.
"Yeah, just have a slight headache." Taehyung said.
Seconds later, he was feeling hot all of a sudden too so he decided to remove his gloves and jacket. Which is fine for him since he's wearing a long-sleeve top anyway.
"Oppa, what are you doing?" Yoo Jung said with wide eyes.
"I feel so hot. Just remind me to wear them immediately after class." Taehyung said.
As he was removing the second glove, he accidentally dropped the first one so he bent down to get it. He didn't notice someone crouching down to reach for it as well so Taehyung felt a hand touching his.
Taehyung pulled his hand away abruptly and looked at the person beside him, expecting the other to flinch or scream or throw curses, but he was taken aback when he saw a handsome dark-haired male looking back at him.
"Sorry, here." The guy said as he handed Taehyung the glove.
"Th-thank you." Taehyung said — dumbfounded still.
"I guess you two are new here? My name's Jeon Jungkook." The guy said as he just kept staring at Taehyung while he reached out his hand hoping for a the latter to shake it.
Yoo Jung grabbed Jungkook's hand and shook it instead.
Jungkook's gaze at Taehyung was interrupted by her action and to his dismay, he didn't get the handshake he was hoping to get from the latter.
"Hi, I'm Kim Yoo Jung and this is Kim Taehyung." She said.
"Hi, nice meeting you." Jungkook pulled his hand away and then brought it in front of Taehyung. He was determined to get that handshake from the latter.
Taehyung gulped and he was having a mental struggle.
He didn't flinch when our hands touched, so does that mean he didn't get burned?
There's one way to find out.
Taehyung couldn't stop himself from trying as something inside him was pushing him to actually do it.
So, without thinking any further, he nervously took Jungkook's hand and shook it.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook and he couldn't believe it. The latter was still smiling at him while holding his hand.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Taehyung." Jungkook said.
"Finally?" Taehyung asked.
"I meant, a pleasure meeting you...yeah, that's what I meant. Um, sorry but I hope you don't find it rude for me to ask, but...are you human?" Jungkook asked.
"Um, yeah? Why do you ask?"
Jungkook's big smile suddenly got smaller and he inadvertently furrowed his brows. "N-nothing. Um, I'll talk to you later."
"Y-yeah see you around." Taehyung said.
Jungkook didn't move and just stood there.
"Um, my hand?" Taehyung said with a smile.
"Oh, s-sorry. Didn't mean to — um, anyway, yeah I'll see you around." Jungkook finally let go of Taehyung's hand and sat on one of the chairs in front.
"What the fuck happened just now?" Yoo Jung asked under her breath.
"I have no fucking clue." Taehyung said as he looked at his hand.
"Wait, let me try." Yoo Jung said as she touched Taehyung's hand with her pointer finger.
"Fuck!" She exclaimed as she felt her finger burn.
"Oh shit! Are you okay? I'm so sorry YJ." Taehyung said as he placed his gloves back on and rummaged through his bag for his small bottle of petroleum jelly. He brings it everywhere just in case something like this happened.
"It's alright oppa. I'm fine, see? Just a slight burn." Yoo Jung said as she placed some jelly on her finger. Taehyung then handed her a plaster.
"So, I'm still "normal" but how come he wasn't affected?" Taehyung asked his sister.
"I have no idea." Yoo Jung said. She thought for a few seconds and then blurted out,
"Maybe, it doesn't work because of love? Same notion as true love's kiss or when Harry Potter didn't die when Voldemort hit him with a killing curse because of Lily Potter's love for his son." Yoon Jung rambled — a trait she got from her eomma.
"'Da hell you're talking about? That's the most incredulous thing I've heard you say." Taehyung said.
"Haven't you heard about love at first sight?" Yoo Jung teased his brother.
"Says the aromantic one." Taehyung teased back.
"My being aromantic doesn't mean I don't know what love is." Yoo Jung said.
"Oh, shut up. Professor's here." Taehyung said as he nudged his sister.
Taehyung watched the Professor write his name on the white board, but at the corner of his eye, he could see Jungkook looking at him. He wanted to look back, but hesitated.
It was like that for the entire duration of the class and to say that Taehyung was bothered and curious about Jungkook is an understatement.

JUNGKOOK'S POV
I can't stop myself from looking at Taehyung as my wolf kept on shouting the word "mate" in my head. On top of that, it doesn't help that I could smell his alluring sweet scent of strawberries and vanilla.
Being a true blood alpha, destined to be the next pack leader, finding my Luna is of great importance for me.
I finally found him, but he's...human?! I've never heard something like this happen before and it's making my brain short circuit at the moment.
Jungkook, you gotta believe me. He is our mate. Jungkook's wolf, JK, said.
Stop it, JK. I want to believe you as I also felt our connection when I touched his hand. And I smelled his scent the moment I entered the room. This is fucking frustrating.
So, what do you suggest we do other than stare at him?
You know, you can be annoying sometimes.
The feeling is mutual.
I couldn't concentrate on the lesson so I excused myself from the professor saying that I'd need to go to the toilet.
I brought my phone with me and dialed my eomma's number.
E: Hello, Jungkook? Aren't you supposed to be in class?
J: I know, eomma, but this is more important. I think I found my mate.
E: What do you mean you THINK? Shouldn't you KNOW?
J: Yeah, that's the thing. All the signs are there, but...
E: But?
J: Eomma, he's human?
E: What? He? Human? That's impossible Jungkook.
J: I know. That's why I called you.
E: Are you sure? You might be mistaken.
J: No, eomma. I felt our connection when I touched his hand. I can smell him from afar and the moment I laid my eyes on him, JK said mate. I'm so confused. I don't know what to do.
E: How did your mate react though?
J: Shocked? I noticed that he even hesitated to take my hand when I offered mine to shake his. He looked more shock when he eventually took it.
E: He might have felt the connection too?
J: But, I go back to my main issue. He's human.
E: I'll talk to your grandmother about this. In the meantime, don't tell your appa anything yet. And, don't do anything to scare your precious omega away.
J: Eomma, I'm not even sure if he's an omega. Is there such a thing as a human omega?!
E: Okay, okay just calm down. We will find out more about this.
J: Thank you eomma.
I ended the call and went back inside the classroom.
God, there's that smell again. This day is going to be torture for me if we end up having the same classes.
Jungkook groaned.
"Any problem, Mr. Jeon?" The professor asked.
"Sorry, Ms. Lee. I'm not feeling too well." I lied.
"Oh, do you need to go to the clinic?" She asked.
"If that's okay, maam?"
"Sure, Mr. Jeon. Feel better soon." Ms. Lee said.
I grabbed my stuff and immediately went out the room.
I was about to turn at the hallway corner when I heard my name.
"Jungkook, wait!"
I turned around and saw him again...Taehyung. I watched him walk towards me and noticed something.
Is he limping?
"Hey, um, I'm sorry." He said.
"For what?"
"For hurting you. That's why you're going to the clinic right?" He said, looking like he's about to cry.
"No. You didn't. What made you say that?" I asked.
"I didn't? Your hands are fine?" He asked as he gently took my hand and caressed it with his gloved hand.
"It's not burnt." Taehyung mumbled but I heard it.
"Why would it be burnt?"
"Um, I don't usually tell anyone about this, but I feel comfortble enough telling you. I don't know why, but you look like someone who doesn't judge people." Tarhyung said and I smiled at him.
"I'll take that as a compliment. But, yeah, I don't do that."
"It's my skin. When it gets in contact with someone, I end up burning them. Just like I did a while ago with my sister's finger. I was so surprised that you were able to touch we without getting hurt, so she tried to touch me to see if I changed, but she hurt herself. "
I looked at Taehyung to check if he was joking, but he looked and sounded so sincere.
"I-I don't know what to say. It's my first time to meet someone like you who has this special ability..."
I didn't get to finish what I wanted to say because he giggled and I felt like my heart just leaped out of my chest.
"You're the first to refer to it as special ability. People would usually say it's a curse or that I'm a freak. So, thanks, I guess? But, anyway, I wanted to ask, is there something different about you perhaps?" He asked me.
"Well, I'm a werewolf, a trueblood alpha." I said.
"Hmmm, that's not it. I've met a trueblood alpha once and I ended up burning his hands when he grabbed my wrist." He said and I felt mad knowing that someone tried to hurt him.
Tell him about the mate bond. That could be the reason.
He might be overwhelmed. Eomma said not to scare him away, JK.
"Well, I think that's about it. There's nothing really different or special about me. Um, Taehyung, I also have a question. This may sound weird, perhaps weirder than the first time I asked you this, but I just have to know. Are you 100% sure you're human?" I asked.
"You know, sometimes I ask that question too, because there must be a supernatural explanation to my quote, unquote special ability right? Everytime I ask my parents about it, their answer has always been it just suddenly happened when you turned thirteen. I trust them, but sometimes I feel like they're hiding something from us."
"You think there's a chance that you're a werewolf?" I just asked him straight as I see no point in watching what I say at this point.
"If I was, I wouldn't really know. I've lived a human all my life." He truthfully said.
"I see."
"You seem bothered by it. Are you asking because you don't make friends with humans?" He asked with wide eyes.
Why is he so adorable? Jungkook, can you just tell him that he's our mate now, please?
It's not the right time, JK. Let me handle this.
"No. I have a lot of human friends. I'm just asking because you, um, smell like one." I blurted it out accidentally as I really didn't know what to say.
"For reals? Maybe it's my bath wash?"
"Is it werewolf scented?" I said, trying to keep our conversation light.
Taehyung laughed, and I knew right then and there that I'm seriously and irrevocably into this human.
"How else would you usually spot a werewolf?" Taehyung asked innocently again.
"The color of the eyes. Werewolves could have red, green, yellow, blue...."
"Purple?" Taehyung asked. I noticed a change in his reaction. He seemed anxious all of a sudden.
"I was going to say jet black orbs, like mine. Purple, you say?" I asked and he nodded. "I haven't seen nor heard of a werewolf with purple eyes before."
Taehyung sighed. "Then, I'm probably not. Oh well, it was really nice chatting with you, Jungkook. That has got to be the longest conversation I had with someone aside from my family.
I have to head back, now. I told Professor Lee that I just need to go to the wash room. She might think I've flushed myself in the toilet or something."
I watched Taehyung walk away and I noticed that there's really something odd about the way he walked. I just shrugged it off and continued watching him. Before he entered the room, he looked back at me and smiled.
Damn it, he's so beautiful, JK. I don't think my heart would last this day if he keeps on smiling at me like that.
Good luck to us then. I can't wait to meet his wolf though. I could sense him, Jungkook. I swear he's in there somewhere.
Don't worry, JK. I won't stop looking for answers. For now, I need to find my hyungs. They might know something.
