9 EMOTIONS

That night, after Jungkook finished some paper work with his father, he went straight to the room he was sharing with Minseo and found the younger already sleeping on the bed. Minseo was sleeping on his stomach with legs and arms sprawled over the bed. He tried waking him up to politely ask to make space for him, but the latter just groaned and didn't even move an inch.

They weren't joking when they said that Minseo is a heavy sleeper.

Why don't you just push him? If he really is a heavy sleeper, he wouldn't really be aware of it, you know.

Nah, just let him.

So, where are you planning to sleep then? There's no couch here.

I'll just ask Taehyung if he won't mind me sleeping with him then.

Define sleeping with him.

Jungkook just laughed at him and decided to leave the room. But, instead of heading to his room, he decided to go to the living room instead.

He laid himself down on the couch and fished his phone from his pocket. He opened it and noticed that his messenger app is open.

When he scanned through the messages, he noticed that it wasn't his account.

It must be Taehyung's. He might have forgotten to close it. He thought.

He was about to log it off when a notification started to pop out. Without meaning to, he saw it was from an unknown number and he could read part of the message on the notif. It read...

??: Your powers don't cease to amaze me...

Jungkook's jaw clenched and he sat up straight. He tried to stop himself from opening the message, but his possessiveness won. He opened it and that's when he saw the full text.

??: Your powers don't cease to amaze me. You will be a perfect luna for me. Together, we can conquer packs. A trueblood like me and a luna with your magical powers....oh the possibilities!

Jungkook's eyes turned red. He closed the message and saw another one from an unknown number so he opened it too. And that's when he saw the message trail that Taehyung wanted to show him earlier that day:

??: You'll be mine soon, omega.

T: Who are you?

??: You'll know me soon enough.

(Unknown number was blocked)

That's when Jungkook realized that Taehyung had no idea who was messaging him. He also had an inkling that whoever left the new message would be the same person who sent him the other one too. He thought for a while and replied to the sender.

J: You must be mistaken. I am not your Luna and will never be.

??: You have no choice. After I kill your mate, you will eventually be mine!

Jungkook smirked and laughed darkly.

J: Kill my mate, you say? Goodluck on that.

??: Luck has nothing to do with it, my darling. Everything's going real well as planned. You are already where I want you to be. I will mark you and soon enough, you'll be screaming my name under me, over and over again.

Jungkook felt his wolf take over so before he could even reply, he threw his phone away and breathed deeply.

JK, calm your ass down. We need to plan this wisely. I'm as mad as you are, but we can't be rash about this. Our luna is in danger. Whoever this is, he is in our pack and I need you to work with me on this.

You're too soft for my liking right now, Jungkook.

Trust me on this. I know what I'm doing.

I don't trust you when you're being this timid.

Jungkook laughed darkly again.

You know what they say, Jk. Silent men like still waters, are deep and dangerous. We will eventually show that alpha how damgerous we can get. Nobody messes with our luna and get away with it.

Jungkook said before grabbing his phone again and placing it in his pocket. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and when he opened it, it went back to normal.

He then went out of the house and walked towards the direction of Jinyoung's house. In just a few minutes, he was already there, knocking on the latter's door.

The door flew open, revealing a confused Namjoon.

"Jungkook? It's already eleven pm. What are you doing here?" Namjoon asked.

"Apologies for the late visit, uncle. But, time is of the essence. I need to talk to you, but I need you to trust me and swear that you will never talk to my father about this." Jungkook said.

"You look serious." Namjoon said.

"I am very serious, uncle, because this involves the one person we both need to protect." Jungkook said.

"Taehyung?" Namjoon asked and Jungkook nodded.

"Come in then." Namjoon said.

"Promise me first." Jungkook said as his eyes turned red again.

Namjoon was shocked and he then realized the gravity of the situation.

"I promise, Jungkook." Namjoon said.

Jungkook went inside and sat on the couch, waiting for Namjoon to sit.

"Now, what is this all about Jungkook?" Namjoon asked.

"You need to know something about my father." Jungkook said.

"What is it?" Namjoon asked.

"Before I tell you, I wanted to ask how loyal do you think your men are to you, because we will need them on this." Jungkook asked.

"Are you referring to my former soldiers at Cypher pack?" Namjoon asked.

"Yes, uncle." Jungkook said.

"I am quite sure of their loyalty, Jungkook. But, I don't like how this whole thing sounds. Is Snow Flower pack in danger?"

"It will be, most especially Taehyung and your family if we don't have them on our side. Knowing full well about our soldiers, 60% of them are from Cypher. They were equally trained by me and my father for the past years. If it would boil down to fighting, they would even have the upper hand as I'm sure they've learned other techniques and styles from when they trained under you. I've noticed that myself." Jungkook said.

"You sound as if we will be fighting against your father." Namjoon said.

"I sure hope that it doesn't get to that point. I just want to cover all our bases." Jungkook said. "Is it okay if we involve Jinyoung on this?"

"Yes, let me go get him." Namjoon said before going up to get his brother-in-law and former right hand.

You do surprise me sometimes. JK said.

I learned how to be scheming from you, you know.

That's why moon goddess put the two of us together. Great minds think alike.

I just hope that I'm wrong about my father, JK.

Me too, Jungkook. Me too.

Taehyung, Minseo and Yoo Jung were getting ready for school. It's their first time to go out without their necklaces on and they're excited and at the same time slightly worried about it. They don't know the full extent of what they can do, but they hope that they won't have to deal with anything that required using their abilities, most especially Taehyung.

After the messages that he got, knowing that someone's out there watching him and his family worries him. He badly wanted to talk to Jungkook about it as he feels that he would be more at ease knowing that his alpha had his back.

My alpha. Taehyung reiterated the thought in his head.

Why don't you just tell him how you feel? Tannie asked.

He never asked. He just asked me about his chances of getting rejected and I did tell him the truth about that. Taehyung said, giggling.

So, if he asks you, you'll tell him?

Maybe. I don't know. I hope he doesn't yet as it's too soon. We just met.

He's our destined mate, Taehyung. We will be with him forever. You two have all the time to know each other while being officially together.

Let's see. We will cross the bridge when we get there. In the meantime, how in the world am I supposed to hide my purple hair?

Why do you need to hide it?

I dunno. People might notice that I've changed? I don't like being the subject of people's curiosity.

Um, Taeh, I hate to break it to you but the birth mark on your face is totally gone and your eyes are beaming purple. Those are way more questionable than you having purple hair.

Shit. I forgot about those. I don't have my contacts anymore.

Don't bother hiding anymore, Taeh. Just face the fact that it really is difficult for you not to get noticed as your one gorgeous omega.

No, I'm not. Look at yourself! Jungkook's dress shirt and tie suits you too.

Taehyung looked at his reflection.

You sure this is okay?

More than okay.

Fine. You can do this, Kim Taehyung. Taehyung told himself before grabbing the backpack that Jungkook lent him as well.

As he opened the door, he almost bumped into Jungkook who was about to knock at the door.

"Oh, hi good morning." Taehyung said.

Jungkook's breath hitched as he saw Taehyung.

"H-hi. Morning, Taeh. You look beautiful." Jungkook said.

"Thanks. And, thank you for lending me these. Sorry, I've been using your clothes since we got here. I'll go shop for some clothes tomorrow since it's Staurday." Taehyung said.

"Hey, no worries, you can use mine for as long as you want. I really don't mind." Jungkook said and then added, "Who's going with you to the mall tomorrow?"

"Yoo Jung, Minseo and Minkyu." Taehyung said.

"Can I come?" Jungkook asked.

"Of course! I'd like that." Taehyung said, smiling widely.

"Your big smile is giving you away, oppa!" Yoo Jung teased as she walked past them going down.

Taehyung blushed and made a mental note to smack his sister's head.

Jungkook opted not to say anything about it so as not to make Taehyung uncomfortable, yet he too was smiling from ear to ear.

"Shall we?" Jungkook said, gesturing for Taehyung to walk ahead.

"We shall." Taehyung said. He walked past Jungkook and decided to make a move this time around. He took Jungkook's hand and tightened his hold on it.

Jungkook was plaesantly surprised and walked with Tahyung hand in hand to the kitchen. He looked at the omega but the latter was just looking ahead as if he didn't do anything out of the ordinary.

When they arrived at the dining area, everyone on the table looked at them.

"Jungkook oppa, would you mind if I borrow Taehyung oppa's hand for a while? I just need his help on braiding my hair." Yoo Jung said, teasing the mates.

Taehyung immediately pulled his hand away from Jungkook's. Jin glared at his daughter for ruining the moment.

"Yoo Jung, you see these? I have two free hands which I would very much like to use to strangle you if you don't finish your food in ten minutes." Jin said.

Yoo Jung gulped and went back to eating her breakfast.

Taehyung walked behind her and flicked her ear.

"Oww!" Yoo Jung yelped.

Taehyung snickered as he sat down to eat. Yoo Jung stood up and was about to take revenge, but Jin made her sit down.

"Eomma! Oppa flicked my ear!" Yoo Jung whined.

"Serves you right. Now go finish your food. When are you two going to start acting your age?! Aish! You're giving me a headache." Jin said.

Jungkook laughed at their family dynamics. Made him wonder how fun it would have been to have siblings. But, he knew that their parents did try to have more than one child. However, after three miscarriages, Ji-Cheol and Shin-hye finally accepted that Jungkook would be the lone heir who will be taking over the Snow Flower pack one day.

As they were having breakfast, Ji-Cheol entered the kitchen all sweaty and with filthy clothes.

"How was training dear?" Shin-Hye asked.

"Not too well, Jagi. Chang-Wook still couldn't beat me. I don't know how and when he would learn. At the rate he'a going, I really can't make him Jungkook's right hand. Yoongi, however, was able to take me and Chang-Wook down. Your best friend is very determined to claim that spot, Jungkook." Ji-Cheol said.

"Then, why can't you just give him the title already? We all know he deserves it." Jungkook said with a hint of frustration in his voice.

"I just want to give your cousin a fair chance." Ji-Cheol said.

"Fair? How is that fair, appa? Just because he's a Jeon doesn't mean that he should get unlimited chances. We've given him enough chances already and he still can't make the cut." Jungkook said.

"I owe it to my brother to give him that." Ji-Cheol said.

"Oh come on, appa. He was the reason why uncle died in the first place!" Jungkook retorted.

"Jungkook! Let me remind you that I'm still the head alpha so my decision still stands!" Ji-Cheol said in a loud voice.

"Then act like it!" Jungkook yelled back, using his trueblood alpha voice.

Everyone in the room —except for Taehyung — whimpered most especially, the omegas, Shin-Hye and Jin. Jungkook was the strongest of them all; hence, he could make everyone submit. Even Ji-Cheol was affected by it, but not as much as the others.

"You dare question my authority?!" Ji-Cheol said, fighting back the submission.

"I don't question your authority. I question your judgment, appa. If you're not careful, the whole pack will suffer." Jungkook said as he stood up abruptly, causing his chair to fall down on the ground. He grabbed his backpack and walked out of the room.

Taehyung felt Jungkook's emotions. He was in pain. The omega felt his anger and disappointment, and all he wanted to do is comfort his alpha. So, Taehyung stood up and grabbed his bag too. He quickly said goodbye to everyone and ran after Jungkook.

He saw Jungkook throw his bag at the backseat of the car before proceeding to the driver's side. Before the alpha could go inside the car, he heard Taehyung call his name.

"Kook, wait."

Jungkook stood beside the car and waited for Taehyung to come closer. He knew that he shouldn't have spoken to his father that way, but he's had it with him. So, now he was expecting his mate to tell him off. He knew that Taehyung isn't the type who would answer back to his parents.

"Look, I know what you're going to say — " Jungkook snapped at Taehyung, but was caught offguard when the latter just nuzzled his neck before wrapping his arms around the alpha.

Jungkook exhaled deeply and hugged Taehyung back. That was what he needed at that moment and he was so happy that the omega was there for him. He could feel tears well up in his eyes as he embraced the omega tighter.

"I will do everything to protect you and our families, Taeh. No matter what it takes." Jungkook whispered in the younger's ear.

Taehyung slightly pulled away, just enough to look at Jungkook's eyes.

"Me too, Jungkook. I am not as meek as others might think I am, but I can do anything and even risk my life for my family as well. I don't know what's in your mind right now and what's happening, but know that whatever and whoever is making you feel this way, will also answer to me. I am your mate, Jungkook. I am here for you, I hope you know that." Taehyung said.

"Thank you, Taeh." Jubgkook softly said.

The alpha caressed Taehyung's cheek and the latter leaned in to his touch. Their face were so close to each other and Jungkook really wanted to kiss his mate, but was worried that he could be moving too fast. 

Taehyung knew what the alpha wanted, but he also know that the latter was too much of a gentleman to make the first move. So, Taehyung cupped Jungkook's face gently before connecting their lips together.

The kiss was slow and brief, but both felt that it was a perfect first kiss. They connected their foreheads together before Jungkook took Taehyung's lips again with his own. It was as slow and brief as the first one, but this time, they were both smiling through the kiss.

Jungkook was first to pull away, but pecked Taehyung's nose first before taking the younger's hand and walking him to the passenger side.

"As much as I want to just kiss you all day, we have classes." Jungkook said while giving Taehyung a big smile, as if he wasn't just mad at the world a few minutes ago.

"Tsk. I forgot my alpha's quite responsible, looks like we won't be breaking any rules at all huh?" Taehyung teased.

"Actually, my luna, we will be very soon." Jungkook winked at Taehyung, leaving the latter confused.

Taehyung watched Jungkook walk back to the driver's side and into the car.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked.

"You'll know later today. I'll meet you after your classes and I'll tell you all about it." Jungkook said before starting the car and driving away.

"Kook, what about Minseo and Yoo Jung?" Taehyung asked.

"Eomma's letting them use her car." Jungkook said.

"So, it'll be like this everyday?" Taehyung asked.

"That can be arranged." Jungkook said as he took Taehyung's hand and intertwined their fingers before kissing the back of the younger's hand.

"You feeling better?" Taehyung asked.

"Much much better. Thanks to you." Jungkook said.

Taehyung smiled and felt good that he made his alpha smile again. And, he internally vowed that he will make sure to be by his side and make him forget about his worries from this day onwards.
