Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Lisa's POV

Shattered Hope

"No.. no, you are lying." I said comforting myself.

"You were never mine, your mother brought you in with her and now that she is dead, i was being forced to take care if you, you should have gone with her" he said so coldly.

"But I kept you because I thought you would bring this family glory. Now you have ruined everything."

Tears streamed down my face.

My whole life.. everything that I thought was real.. was actually a lie.

I turned to my stepsister one last time. "Why?" My voice was barely a whisper. "Why did you do this to me?" I asked with so much bitterness in my soul.

She smiled. Her smile was an evil, and victorious smile. "Because you had what I wanted. And now.. you have nothing."

I let out a very broken sob.

My body curled in on itself as I trembled on the floor.

My father turned away. "Get out." He said

I froze.

I was not expecting such cruel treatment from those I called my family.

They never actually thought of me as family.

"You are no longer welcome here," he said, with his voice void of any emotion at all .

"You are no daughter of mine. You are nothing to us."

Nothing.

I was nothing .

I felt my soul crack, and my heart shatter into a million pieces.

I stood on shaky legs, with my vision blurred with so much tears.

Without another word, I turned and walked out of the door.

And this time.. I genuinely had nowhere else to go.

---

"How did my life come to this?." I said to myself.

I walked aimlessly, with my legs weak, and my soul even weaker.

The streets were dark, and cold.

I hugged myself, but no amount of warmth could mend the hole that was inside of me.

A sob escaped my lips as I whispered into the night .

"Why.. why on earth did this happen to me?"

"Daddy please, I have no where else to go, I can't be seen wondering in the streets." I was in tears right in front of my father's house.

After an hour of wondering the whole place looking for where to go, I had no other option but to return back home and plead with my father.

"You are a disgrace." My father said with his voice like that of a thunder

I flinched, with my entire body trembling.

My face still stung from the previous beating, my ribs ached from the kicks.

But nothing ,nothing could compare to the pain that lay in my heart.

"Come inside," he said as he heaved a very heavy sigh not minding me.

He was still my father after all and he had pity on me.

Hopefully the Alpha doesn't get to hear of what happened last night.

The Luna coronation ceremony was close by and this was the only reason I was still a part of the family.

I just couldn't wait to leave the torture of this house and finally be with my mate.

As I was trying to settle in, Olivia ran into the house with a very shocking news.

"Lisa ,I saw something on the pack's notice board." She said , panting.

"What do you mean Olivia, what did you see, is that why you are running like that?" I asked wondering what made her run in that manner.

"It was a picture of you with another man on the bed." She finally let out.

"What!" I exclaimed, putting on my dress.

"Where did you say it was?" I asked looking all dressed and ready to set out.

"Let's go, I'll show you." Olivia said.

We both left for the notice board that was right at the center of the pack field.

I saw people gathered around all looking at the picture.

Their eyes turned and they all looked at me with so much disgust in their eyes.

I quickly rushed to see what made them look at me with so much disgust.

"No.. No, this is not true."

I stared at the image on the pack's notice board, with my breath coming in short , and painful gasps.

The picture was actually me, in a bed, tangled in sheets with a man I didn't even recognize.

My face was turned slightly to the side, my bare shoulder was exposed, and the rest of my body was covered just enough to keep the image from being explicit.

My hands shook as I reached up, my fingers kept brushing over the ink on the paper, as if touching it would somehow erase what had already spread through out the entire pack.

"Who did this?" My voice cracked as I asked.

I just wondered who did this kind of evil to me.

I still couldn't see the face of the man, it was as though it was all planned to destroy me.

People started throwing shades at me right there and then.

"Let's go home, you can't stay here any longer." Olivia said as she held me up.

I was breaking down, but she helped me and we walked home.

I was so grateful for Olivia, she always had my back at all times.

"Are you sure you didn't do this?" She finally asked me.

"I didn't.." I said, it was actually about time she asked.

"Are you sure you didn't?" She tilted her head, with her eyes gleaming. "So you're saying you didn't sleep with a random man? Because that picture says otherwise. The whole pack saw it, you know. Even Father."

My stomach dropped.

"Father..?" I had forgotten about that already

She smirked, while stepping aside just in time for me to see him storming toward me.

My stepmother was right behind him, with her face twisted in rage.

"You disgraceful little whore!" My father's hand was already swinging before I could move .

SMACK!

The pain exploded in my cheek, and the force knocked me straight to the ground.

My ears rang, even my vision became blurred, and for a second, I could not breathe.

"How dare you shame this family?" he bellowed, while grabbing my arm and yanking me to my feet.

"I.. I didn't!" I sobbed. "I swear, Father, it's not what it looks like!"

"Enough lies!" He shoved me back, and I stumbled, while barely keeping my balance.

"You were already weak and useless, but now you're a disgrace too?" He said

"Please, listen to me!" I turned to my stepmother, with my lip trembling. "Mother, you know I wouldn't.."

"Don't you dare call me that!" She spat.

My heart clenched.

"You slept with another man before your Luna ceremony?" my stepmother screeched. "You filthy, disgusting girl!!"

"No!" I cried, while shaking my head. "I didn't! It wasn't.."

"Lies!" She said.

And then a sharp slap sent me straight to the floor.

I came back home to seek refuge but I wasn't getting that at all.

"Do you know what you've done?" My father's boot crashed into my stomach. "You've ruined us! You've ruined everything.!"

I choked on a sob, while curling up, with my arms wrapped around myself.

"Father, please.."

"No.." My voice broke.

"Get out." My father said, this was the second time he was doing this to me.

"No," I whimpered. "No, please.."

"Just get the hell out of my house." He said.

My heart stopped.

Just when I thought I had finally settled things with my father, I was slapped with this annoying reveal and disgrace.

"Get. Out." He spelt out the words clearly to me.

I looked at Olivia, she was literally my last hope.

She stood beside them, with her arms crossed.

There was not a single pity left in her eyes for me. No guilt. All I could see was just satisfaction.

"Olivia.." My voice trembled. "Please, tell them. Tell them I didn't.."

She smirked.

"You brought this on yourself."

A sob ripped through my chest..

"I have nowhere to go!" I begged.

"That is not my problem," my father snapped. "I gave you a second chance, but you blew it off, if you really wanted to do it, you should have kept it a secret , now the whole pack is aware of your actions. Get out of my house before I kill you by myself."

I staggered backward, with so much tears dripping down my eyes.

My home. My family.

All of it was gone.

I turned, but my vision blurred with so much tears.

My body shook as I reached for the door.

"And don't come back, we won't take you in again!" my stepmother spat . "You are so dead to us!"

I stepped outside .

The cold morning air hit me, but it was nothing compared to the emptiness that I felt inside of me.

I walked, and walked.

I didn't know where I was going. I had no one.

I had nothing.

But then.. I remembered

I had him.

My mate. The Alpha. My only hope.

Just when I thought that everything was okay, I was slammed with something I never expected.
