Blind Handsome Man

Outside the capital of the Yuan Dynasty, a mysterious black rift suddenly appeared about two meters above the ground.

"Plop! Plop!" A person and a cat fell into a birch forest.

As soon as Ye Xilei got up from the ground, she leaned against a birch tree and began vomiting, "Ugh! Ugh!" She hadn't expected that the portal formed by the Boundary Spirit Jade would be so narrow and strange.

As soon as she entered, she was pulled toward the other end by a powerful force, twisting and turning along the way. The experience made Ye Xilei feel like she was food rapidly passing through the digestive tract, eventually being squeezed out.

"Ugh!" Dizzy, Ye Xilei searched for the sight of Mao Mao, only to find that he was in worse condition than her. He had fainted, eyes rolled back, foam bubbling from his mouth.

"Mao Mao." Ye Xilei struggled to lift her body but collapsed from exhaustion. She almost fell right next to Mao Mao, lying flat on her back, staring at the sky.

Using the Heavenly Thunder had drained all her strength.

This mysterious ability had been with her since birth. Ye Xilei first discovered her power at the age of 130. Before being sent to the Cold Palace, she had been learning spells with the elders. One day, feeling frustrated over her failed attempt to learn an ice spell, she noticed black clouds gathering above her head. The clouds were small and seemed almost within reach. The word "thunderclouds" suddenly popped into her mind.

Guided by her subconscious, Ye Xilei began to practice controlling these thunderclouds. Most of the time, she played with them, shaping them into different forms — a fox, a tiger, but the most frequent was her father and mother.

Ye Xilei, exhausted, gazed up at the clear sky. The air here was thin and fresh, unlike the fragrant flowers and the peculiar scents of the demon world. The sky above was also different, with only a few clouds and a blue expanse.

As she stared at the sky, her heart slowly became quiet.

In a hazy state, Ye Xilei saw a small girl, no bigger than her finger. She wore a green dress, glowing with a faint green light.

"Are you okay?" the tiny girl asked.

Ye Xilei wanted to speak but found she had no strength left. She struggled to say a word, "Who…?"

"My name is Ling," the tiny girl replied cheerfully, standing on Ye Xilei's nose. Ye Xilei squinted to see her clearly.

"I am the Jade Spirit, the one from the Boundary Spirit Jade. I like you, so I recognize you as my master. That's why only you can see me."

"Oh…"

"The first time crossing through is like this. You should rest for a while. I also need to rest." Ling scratched her chin thoughtfully. "It will take 49 days for my strength to recover, and then I can cross again."

"Ah…"

"Ah~~" Ling yawned, transforming back into the Boundary Spirit Jade. "I'm going to sleep now…" The jade slowly floated down, and two thin red strings extended from it, wrapping around Ye Xilei's neck before settling quietly against her chest.

Ye Xilei's eyelids began to grow heavy, and the discomfort in her stomach along with the exhaustion made her drift off. Just as darkness overtook her, she saw a figure. The smell was familiar, like one of her own kind, so she felt at ease and fell into a deep sleep.

A burst of colorful light flashed before Ye Xilei's eyes. She blinked and realized she had returned to the dreamscape.

Startled, she found herself in a scene with elders sitting in a circle on a blue meadow by a lake. In the center was a little girl dressed in white robes, who was unmistakably a younger version of herself.

Ye Xilei sighed with relief — it seemed she had entered a dream.

The little Ye Xilei, only ten years old, was sitting cross-legged among the elders, peeking at them with one eye.

"Little Xilei, focus."

The little Ye Xilei grinned widely, opening both eyes. "Elder Grandpa, when can I leave here and go back to Father?"

The elders opened their eyes and said calmly, "When you're strong enough."

"How do I become strong?" Little Ye Xilei asked.

The elders exchanged glances, their thoughts connecting. One elder raised an eyebrow and answered, "Defeat the strongest."

Ye Xilei lowered her head in thought before looking up. "I heard that wolf cub is quite strong…"

The elders broke into a cold sweat, surprised that the little girl referred to the wolf prince as "wolf cub."

"I want to challenge him!"

The elders laughed. "Sure, if you defeat the little wolf prince, we'll allow you to return home for a month."

"Really!" Little Ye Xilei beamed, her silver eyes narrowing in calculation.

Everything shifted, and the scene changed rapidly.

Ye Xilei smiled as she looked around. This was the back garden of the Demon World Royal Academy, the very place where all her entanglements with Wolf King Poze began.

There, standing on a stone table, was the little Wolf Prince Poze, showing off his golden chest fur to the other young demon children.

That golden chest fur was truly extraordinary, gleaming in the sunlight like gold, making the other demon children with black or red fur envious.

The bell rang, and the young demons hurried back to class. Little Poze hopped off the table, his fluffy tail swishing behind him, his round face so cute that one would want to pinch it.

"Are you Poze?" a crisp voice came from behind. Little Poze turned and saw a silver-haired girl wearing a mask.

"I am. Who are you? Why are you wearing a mask?"

"I'm Ye Xilei. I wear this mask so you won't recognize me, so you won't know who I am." The silly little Ye Xilei proudly announced her name, then added, "So you won't know who I am."

Little Poze responded seriously, "Oh, I see!"

"Enough nonsense. I'm here to challenge you."

"Challenge?" Poze pouted. "I don't fight girls."

"Really? Well, that's great. Let me fight you then." Little Ye Xilei immediately rushed forward and knocked Poze down. He panicked, "What are you doing!"

"If I defeat you, I'll be able to go back and see Father."

"You dare! I'll fight you!"

"Too late!" Little Ye Xilei blew a puff of air right at Poze's face. Immediately, a red blush spread across his cheeks, and his expression grew dazed.

"I need some proof to bring back with me." Little Ye Xilei began eyeing Poze's body, then noticed that unique golden chest fur.

She smiled mischievously and didn't hesitate to pull a tuft of it off.

"Ah—!" Poze screamed in agony, and everything vanished. Ye Xilei suddenly woke up from the dream, dazed and hungry.

She looked around, finding herself in a dark cavern, faint firelight flickering. A woman's voice floated over.

"You should just give in to me~~~ I'll make you feel like a god~~~" The woman's voice was sweet and sticky, like honeyed candy.

"Heh… Really? Aren't you planning to eat me?" A man's voice responded. Ye Xilei found it strange but also quite pleasant to listen to.

"Well, that will come after the fun. So, what's your choice?"

"If that's the case, then naturally, the former."

"Oh ho ho ho, I didn't expect you, a blind man, to be so flirtatious."

"Since I'm blind and physically imperfect, I cherish the pleasures of life more."

"I like you, so I've decided not to eat you."

"Eat people!" Ye Xilei was immediately alarmed. She turned around and saw a man and a woman — one human, one demon. They were indeed in a cave. The man was leaning against the stone wall, and in front of him stood a seductive woman.

As a demon herself, Ye Xilei instinctively recognized the woman as a fox demon.

"You two, what are you doing!" Ye Xilei shouted. Mao Mao, who had been asleep beside her, woke up and began licking his fur.

The fox demon turned her head and smiled. "Oh, the little beauty is awake?"

Ye Xilei looked at the fox demon and then at the man. She was startled to see that the man was blind. How did she know? He had a silver-blue ribbon tied over his eyes, and the fox demon had also referred to him as blind.

What shocked Ye Xilei further was that the blind man was quite handsome. He had a perfectly proportioned face, not too round, not too sharp, and with his eyes covered, his other features stood out even more clearly. His brows were neither too thick nor too thin, and his lips, neither too thin nor too full, were perfectly balanced. Everything about him was meticulously detailed, as though his features had been carefully sculpted.

Heaven had taken his sight, but it had made the rest of his features even more flawless.
