Chapter 17: Petty Tricks

Location: Cardinal World

Feldway's POV

I thought this form wouldn't be needed.

But that single punch—just one punch—broke my hand.

And I'm no Superman. I can't take hits like that and laugh it off.

The fact that I had to use Armageddon just to summon a single angel to absorb the blow… That's insane.

Still… it gave me an idea. A twisted one, but it just might work.

"What can I say," I said aloud, raising my voice, "sometimes you have to play dirty, and let someone else take the punch."

The middle head chuckled, its tone mocking.

"Dirty? I wouldn't call that dirty—more like cowardly."

"Technically, they're the same thing," I replied with a smirk. "But it seems like I'll have to be even more cowardly."

I closed my eyes briefly, running through all the analysis in my mind. My remaining magicules. The energy requirements. The drain I would have to go through.

How many angels can I afford to summon… and still keep enough power to fight?

The answer came to me like lightning through my mind. Cold, calculated precision.

100,000. If I push the limits, 100,000. It'll have to be enough.

Then so be it.

I lifted my hand toward the sky, letting the magic flood into the world around me.

"Go forth and cleanse all sin, be it small or great. Go, my heavenly army. THE ARMAGEDDON!"

3rd Person POV

The moment Feldway's voice echoed across the scorched battlefield, the clouds above split apart. The dark curtain that had loomed over everything shattered, and light rained down like divine judgment.

From that light descended an army—winged soldiers in pristine armor, their faces devoid of emotion. Each held a weapon of war: glowing spears, shining axes, blades forged from holy radiance.

"Surround the enemy," Feldway commanded.

The angels obeyed instantly. Their wings illuminated the sky, forming a brilliant ring around the Mad Titan. A heavenly noose.

The left head of the Titan scoffed.

"Hmph. A bunch of pests swarming around me… Time to burn them all. Purgatory!"

With a roar, an inferno erupted from the Titan's body. A pillar of flame shot high into the air, engulfing hundreds—then thousands—of angels in its blaze. Their forms were reduced to ashes mid-flight. Wings scorched, armor melted, they dropped from the sky like falling stars.

The scent of burning feathers filled the battlefield. Smoke blanketed everything.

In mere moments, ten thousand angels were gone.

And still, the Titan wasn't satisfied.

"Tch," the middle head grunted. "Thought that would kill all of them…"

Then the ground quaked.

Light surged around the Titan's body. And suddenly—it began to grow.

Its colossal frame expanded again, taller than mountains, casting a shadow across the world.

"You dare challenge me? Then I'll show you TRUE power!"

Feldway's POV

He took the bait.

Perfect.

Everything's going exactly as I calculated.

The angels swarmed him again, attacking relentlessly.

And again—it did nothing.

Their weapons glanced off his skin. Their strikes had no effect. Even the strongest among them couldn't make a dent.

The Titan swung his arm once—and thousands were crushed, bodies exploding on contact.

Their glowing wings and divine light meant nothing now. They died in droves, painting his massive body with shattered armor and broken corpses.

I watched as 100,000 angels—all of them—were wiped out.

Just as I planned.

The Titan stood triumphant, laughing.

"See? After all that, you could barely scratch my skin. All that effort, all those petty tricks—it only delayed the inevitable. So why don't you give in and go all out already?"

I stayed calm.

"Before I do that, how about a little fun fact about angelic biology?" I said, stepping forward. "Specifically… the angels I summoned."

The Titan narrowed its many eyes.

"Every living being has something called a core," I continued. "An inner core—your subconscious and will. And an outer core—a pure power source."

"My angels? They have an outer core. But the inner one? Completely empty."

The heads exchanged nervous glances—except for the left, who still looked confused.

"You might wonder, 'If they lack consciousness, how are they moving?' Simple. I insert a portion of my control circuit into their hollow core. This allows me to control their power output… and their destruction."

"And here's the kicker: if the outer core cracks… it triggers a fusion reaction."

The Titan's body began to glow.

Not from itself—but from the countless crushed angelic remains plastered across its skin.

"You… you…!" the heads muttered.

"ARMAGEDDON: CORE SELF-DESTRUCT ITSELF!!"

"BASTARD!!!!" screamed the heads.

A flash of light erupted so violently it pierced the atmosphere.

To be continued…
