This story unfolds in a fictional realm known as the Haryu Continent, a vast land divided into two distinct parts: the West Continent and the East, often referred to as the Dark Continent. The West Continent is home to seven empires, each with its own identity and purpose:
1. SUMA EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF THE RISING SUN) - The Empire of Nomads
2. TUMU EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF HEAVEN) - The Empire of Gods
3. KAYA EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF GOLD) - The Empire of Merchants
4. ALLULA EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF CONSTITUTION) - The Empire of Bureaucrats
5. HUIRAN EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF BEASTS) - The Empire of Animal Keepers
6. GUBU EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF STARS) - The Empire of Knights and Warriors
7. ASA EMPIRE (EMPIRE OF THE MOON) - The Empire of Women
Each empire boasts its own army and is driven by principles that reflect its unique way of life. Among them, the Tumu Empire stands as the most honorable and powerful, renowned for producing immortals, high-ranking martial practitioners, and sorcerers. This is why it is often called the Empire of Gods, housing the greatest number of martial communes, a distinction granted by its size and proximity to the Dark Continent.
Across the Haryu Continent, the people belong to four clans:
1. SACRED BLOOD CLAN - Descendants of an orthodox lineage known as the lineage of gods, these practitioners referred to as HOLY BLOODS achieved immortality through intermarriage, resulting in a race of superior cultivators and warriors.
2. BLUE BLOOD CLAN - Descendants of the imperial lineage, these martial practitioners referred to as the BLUE BLOODS never attained immortality but unlocked supernatural secrets, often marrying into the Sacred Blood Clan to enhance their influence and gain innate abilities.
3. RED BLOOD CLAN - Descendants of mortals referred to as the HALF BLOODS. Their lineage stems from unions between Blue Blood or Sacred Blood descendants and ordinary mortals.
4. SIN BLOOD CLAN - The lowest of the four clans referred to as COMMONS, they are people who can learn martial arts but lack a Halo, preventing them from attaining immortality or superhuman powers.
THE HALO
The Halo is a spiritual ring that signifies an individual's primordial essence, the energy used to harness spiritual attributes and powers. As one's spiritual prowess grows, so does the Halo, with each level defined by mastery of the seven chakras. A mature cultivator can achieve a maximum of seven rings. However, if one's Halo attains an Eternal Flame—the Flame of Origin and Extinction—they become akin to gods. Their primordial essence becomes inextinguishable, allowing them to experience no death or aging until the Eternal Flame is extracted, which would render them mortal once more. However, if one extracts the Eternal Flame from another practitioner, they can only use it for up to A hundred years because as a pathogen to the new body, it faces serious resistance.
Within the Tumu Empire and across the continent, there are four primary or cardinal sects, each stationed in one of the four cardinal directions:
1. AZURE DRAGON SECT in the EAST
2. RED PHOENIX SECT in the SOUTH
3. WHITE TIGER SECT in the WEST
4. BLACK TORTOISE SECT in the NORTH
In addition to these major sects, there exist smaller yet significant communities known as communes, seven of which stand out:
1. GOLDEN LOTUS COMMUNE - Renowned for ice magic
2. RED SPEAR COMMUNE** - Warriors dedicated to the Goddess of War, exclusively for men
3. BLACK BANDITS COMMUNE - Fosters outlaws
4. GREEN BANNER COMMUNE - Specializing in herbalist cultivation
5. IMPERIAL COMMUNE - Established under the Imperial Government
6. SILVER SPRING COMMUNE - Known for assassins
7. RED UMBRELLA COMMUNE - An assassin's haven for women only
Most of these communes were founded by defectors from the cardinal sects, which is why they often lack the status of true sects despite having centralized administrations. The four major sects also maintain feeder communes to scout and nurture talent before they ascend to inner discipleship at the sect headquarters.
