The Ritual

Grace sighed hearing her husbands words,

"You are too nice honey"

She was glad her husband worked for the lords of Whirlandia but knowing he would be in multiple dangers due to the authority held by young vampires.

"I love my job,being an official to the lords is a really big deal"he smiled.

With all his earnings,he hadn't relocated his family and chose to stay at this house which his humble wife never cared as long as they were happy and had food on their table.

He had lands which he wanted his children to inherit when they were older.

All Austin wanted was the dispute to end between the vampires and humans.

A couple of years passed and the dispute was getting worse which had led various deaths.

"A human was found dead on the streets near the river bank mi lord"a guard spoke with his head bowed down.

"Leave"Lord Ryder ordered.

"What are we going to do my lord?"Austin questioned,

Meanwhile lord Ethan sat on a chair while puffing a cigarette.

"Why don't we go with the priestess suggestion?"Ryder spoke with a serious gaze,

"Pardon me my lord,are you sure?"Austin questioned,

"They should be a bridge between the two beings and Ethan is more capable being the bridge"Ryder spoke staring at his brother.

"I disagree my lord"came Santiago's words entering the room.

"You have no say"Ryder glared at him always hating his guts.

"I will do it"Ethan says with a frown which was always on his face.

"I should get the witch"Austin states and left immediately to get a witch.

The ritual proceeded with the vampires not aware of what was going on.

"Your wife won't be happy knowing you are dying for Whirlandia"Henry stated to Austin.

The man sighed,he was always selfless for his people and his determination made everyone loved him.

"I'm not the only one dying"he smiled.

Austin had agreed to be a part of the ritual in order to protect the land,he didn't want his wife and children suffering.

The world was too chaotic and the ritual was meant to separate the humans from the vampires which meant humans would have no knowledge of vampire existence anymore.

"Start the ritual Kali"says Ryder impatient.

Ethan stood at the side before walking forward to meet the great witch,an orsticle witch.

Her green eyes were outstanding and brown long hair that stopped at her waistline.

"Your palm"she stated,

Her face covered with worry as fear of Ethan's possible death due to the ritual.

She brought out a knife and sliced through his palm where red thick blood spilled.

Kali chanted some incantations and a fire immersed from the ground separating she and Ethan.

His blood still covered on the knife as they dropped on the burning flame.

The ritual being done in the mansion made it more difficult for outsiders to know of their plans.

"Sacrifices should step forward"kali stated watching the burning flame on the marble floor.

Austin and two other vampires and two humans came forward ready to give their life for Whirlandia.

Stepping forward Kali stabbed them with the same knife she had used in cutting Ethan's palm.

They didn't buffer,as the knife pierced their skin,their body turned white and eyes red with them jiggling to the floor into the flame.

Kali chanted some words again until the flame dispersed and soon enough,the land shook like an earthquake had devoured it.

Kali was more weak than ever having to do a dangerous ritual alone,

The people around all held something as the land kept on shaking which meant the ritual was a success.

"Mama!"Julian yelled,

"Hold on to something Jules"Grace said worriedly,

"I'm scared mama"Mariam held her mother closely as she had been with her when suddenly there was tremor.

"Don't be"Grace assured her daughter.

Julian held onto the chair in the living room as the quake didn't stop.

Grace was worried for her husband and remembered him telling her about the ritual to separate vampires and humans.

She wondered if the ritual was done and this was it aftershock.

The tremor soon stopped and grace pondered on leaving her kids alone to check on her husband.

"You can go check for papa"Julian said to her,

She smiled knowing how thoughtful Julian was and he knew she was worried.

Grace hurriedly left the house not knowing what would be her downfall.

The humans now unknown about the vampires acted oblivious with the vampires not able to feed on them.

The vampires were feeding on humans daily and after the quake,they noticed the difference now.

Vampires got angry and all ran to the lord of Whirlandia causing disrupt in his home.

Grace entering the mansion to the terror outside was able to pass through the crowd of angry vampires.

Ryder stepped out seeing the massive gathering he had planned for.

"Silent!"he says with his tone raised,

They looked up and kept their mouth shut knowing how powerful Ryder was.

"Vampires have been taking advantages of the humans and stirring trouble in the land which has made me take the decision of us creatures going in extinction"

The vampires roared hearing his words,

"Humans won't be aware of our kind again as there is a life span between the humans and us night creatures"

"Soon you will notice more changes and will have to blend with the humans and have less power over them"Ryder continued.

The vampires didn't accept their fate and got angry leading to them attacking the mansion.

They threw stones at the mansion and attacked people making Ryder angry.

Ethan still weak after allowing his body to be the bridge between vampire and human,he felt more changes in his body.

"You can't be killed"Kali smiled,

"I'm immortal of course"he rolled his eyes,

"Immortality from your bloodline could be killed but now you hold more power as the life span"

"Mi lord!"a guard ran in panting,

"There is a huge commotion out there,the vampires are attacking the mansion"
