Jay-jay's POV
"Sorry, Jay..."
"It's okay, Mica..."
"I'm really sorry..."
Aaarrrggghhhh... Over and over again! Unlimited?! If I got paid for every time Mica said sorry to me, I could have bought a new pair of shoes. Maybe I'd even have enough for mobile data for a month.
She didn't do anything wrong. Keifer is the one who should be blamed here. He really refused to let Mica stay in the room. Acting like he owns the whole building.
The result? Mica and I are now walking to her house. I refused to leave her alone. My conscience wouldn't let me. If only she knew self-defense... I didn't attend class today. Your girl is absent.
"Do you think they're still following us?" Mica whispered to me.
"I don't know..." I answered.
I discreetly glanced behind us. I knew Calix was following us—of course, because of Mica. What I didn't understand was why Ci-N and David were with him too.
I could still see them pretending to be busy looking for Pokémon. -_-
From the look on Calix's face, I could tell he was still worried about Mica. That made me remember the love letter I found on the second floor of our building.
"Mica... Is it okay if I ask you something about you and Calix?" I asked her.
She looked at me like she was thinking before forcing a smile. "It's okay..."
"What really happened between you two?"

Calix's POV
I'm so mad at myself. She's so close, yet she feels so far away. I want to hug her so badly. To kiss her. To hold her hand and pull her close.
But that won't happen. She doesn't want me anymore. She hates me. She doesn't want me. I know she still loves me, but she chose to stay away.
I regret everything I did to her before. If only I hadn't hurt her, none of this would be happening. If only I could turn back time. I should have cherished that letter the moment I received it.
Flashback...
"Dude! Another love letter..." Felix said, handing me another one.
It's so annoying! Yeah, yeah, I know I'm handsome, but I don't need love letters.
"Tsk! Throw it away!" I ordered him.
Felix gave me a glare. "I'm not your servant! Throw it away yourself!"
He tossed the letter at me. What's his problem? PMS?
I grabbed the love letter and threw it outside. The front of our room already looked like a trash bin anyway, so whatever.
"This is why it's always messy out there," Ella complained, shaking her head.
I just smiled at her. She's really beautiful. If only she were mine.
"Don't smile like that... You look creepy," she said.
I grinned even wider and looked at her mischievously.
She laughed. "Stop it."
"Make me..." I teased.
She smacked my arm. That's just how we are. Always teasing and messing around.
The whole class probably knows by now that Keifer likes her. She's just completely clueless. If I joined their love story, Keifer might punch me.
"Ella!" someone called.
Ella and I stopped talking and turned to see who it was.
"Hi, Mica!" Ella greeted.
Mica... So that's her name. I always see her outside the school like she's waiting for someone. She's pretty too, but she looks too simple.
They talked for a while before Ella turned back to me.
"Calix, this is Mica, my friend."
"Hi..." I greeted her.
I saw Mica's cheeks turn red as she waved shyly at me. She looks cute.
"Wait a sec, I'll just grab my notes inside," Ella said, leaving me alone with Mica.
I could tell she was shy around me. She kept stealing glances but would quickly look away. I'd bet anything that she likes me.
"Uhmmm... Calix." She handed me an envelope.
Tsk! I knew it! I took the love letter and stuffed it in my pocket. I'd throw it away later.
"I hope you read it..." she added.
I just smiled and nodded. As if! I already said I don't like love letters. I don't even enjoy reading. They all say the same thing anyway.
"I love you, Calix! I've liked you for so long! I hope you notice me too!" Blah! Blah!
Ella came back and handed her notes to Mica. Mica left, but not before smiling at me.
"Don't throw away her love letter... I'll get mad at you," Ella whispered to me.
I looked at her in confusion. She knows?
"She's liked you for a long time... I only stopped her because you're a playboy. She'd just get hurt. But she was persistent, so I told her, 'Let's see what you'll do when you read the love letter.'"
Me? A playboy?
"Since when was I a playboy?" I asked her.
"You're not aware?" she said, teasing me.
"Is it my fault they kept coming one after another?"
"Tsk! Calix, no girl lasts long with you. The three-month breakup rule doesn't even apply to you," she snapped.
"But that doesn't mean I'm a playboy!"
"You ARE a playboy!" Ci-N suddenly chimed in while eating.
"Stay out of this!" I scolded her.
She quickly hid behind Ella. "Look at him, he's picking on me," Ci-N whined like a kid tattling to her older sister.
"Calix!" Ella yelled, hands on her waist.
Of course, she sided with Ci-N. Unbelievable.
That Night...
I flopped onto my bed, completely drained. So exhausting! I reached into my pocket for my phone, but I grabbed something else instead.
The love letter.
I had completely forgotten about it. I inspected the letter—it was just a simple pink envelope with a heart. I was about to throw it away, but then I remembered what Ella said.
She might get mad at me. She wouldn't find out, right? But then again, she might ask about it later.
Even though I didn't want to and was too lazy, I opened the envelope and read the letter. It was written on stationery.
Dear Calix,
If you're reading this letter, thank you so much. I know you already have an idea of what I'm going to say. Maybe Ella already told you, or maybe you just know because, well, it's a love letter.
This girl is beating around the bush too much. Why not just get straight to the point?
I want you to know how I first met you. That was the day you never left my mind. It was during enrollment last year.
You were with your first-year student girlfriend. I was really annoyed at you at first because you were with one girl before entering the school gate, but then with another one afterward.
When was that? Did I ever have a first-year girlfriend? I don't remember.
I was standing in line alone. You and some other Section E students queued up together, messing around. You kept bumping into me but never apologized. I was at the registrar when you suddenly borrowed a pen. I handed you the one I was holding and then left.
A pen? I've borrowed so many pens from people.
I was already sitting on a bench when you suddenly approached me, holding the pen I lent you.
"I've been looking for you... Thanks for this!" you said, smiling at me.
That smile. I feel like that's the reason why I couldn't stop thinking about you when I got home. It might sound stalkerish, but I looked for your Facebook account and got to know you. I started waiting for you at the school gate before going home.
So that's why. I always saw her at the gate, thinking she was waiting for someone. Turns out, she was waiting for me.
Ella warned me, but I didn't listen to her. She said you were a playboy—I knew that. But I couldn't stop myself. At first, I thought it was just a simple crush, but it started to feel different.
I think I love you. I know I have no chance, but I still wanted to tell you.
I'm sure you're used to girls confessing their feelings for you. It's okay if you ignore me. I'm not asking for your attention.
Thank you for reading this letter. Just the fact that you accepted it means so much to me. 😊
—Micaela Yumol
I stared at the ceiling. Reading while lying down really strains the eyes. It also makes you sleepy. I wasn't sure what to think about this letter. But one thing I was sure of...
I was going to sleep with a smile tonight.
This is the only letter that has ever given me this weird feeling. Maybe because it's the only one I've actually read. I don't have any feelings for this Mica, but she makes me smile. For some reason, I feel excited to receive another letter from her. I hope she gives me one again. Her handwriting is beautiful too—it looks like a font style, but it's actually hers.
I don't like reading. Maybe that's why I've always ignored love letters. But now, I kind of want to read more.
Even though I probably look stupid, I kept reading her letter over and over again. I might have memorized every letter and curve of her handwriting.
Micaela Yumol.
She has the same name as that girl from an anime. And they're kind of similar too—she has that demure, delicate aura.
What was the title of that anime again?
Ghost Fighter.
