Aries's POV
"Can't you talk to Jay-jay?" Ella asked me.
I shook my head. Even if I wanted to, she wouldn't listen. I feel like she's become even more stubborn lately.
"DAMN IT!" Mykel shouted.
He's been like that for a while now. I can't blame him. He really likes Mica.
"Relax, Mykel. They're just going to talk—it doesn't mean they're getting back together," Kiko said.
"You don't understand me! That's easy for you to say because you don't have any competition for Freya!" Mykel snapped angrily.
Kiko chuckled. "Who said I like Freya? She's not my type!"
I frowned at Kiko's words. Was he referring to Jay? Is he seriously into Jay? I can't believe this!
"Enough of that!" I interrupted them.
"Kiko is right, Mykel. They're just going to talk. If you want, I can talk to Mica first," Ella said.
She really doesn't like Calix. Well, he did make Mica cry. Any friend would be mad if someone made their friend cry like that.
"No need, Ella. You already made it clear that she doesn't want Calix anymore, right?" Mykel asked.
Ella nodded. I don't know how long we'll have to wait. This was supposed to be Mykel's problem, but I have no idea why we all got dragged into it.
Jay-jay's POV
Booogsshhh! Kaboooob! Aarrgghhh! Optimus!
That's Ci-N. He's playing with… uh… what do you call those toys that come inside snack packs?
Transformers?!
Whatever! They're tiny. I bought two packs of those one-peso snacks without knowing there were toys inside. And, of course, who else would end up with them? My annoying classmates. The toy ended up with Ci-N.
Here it comes! Kaaablaaaag! Bumblebee!
"Cut it out, Ci! I swear I'll make you eat that!" Calix scolded him.
"Leave him alone!" I objected.
The kid's just playing, and he's stopping him?
"You're the one who should stop! You've been pacing back and forth non-stop!" I pointed out.
Ever since we got back to the room, all he's done is walk around, sit down, circle the room, and pick fights with our classmates.
"She still hasn't texted. She said she'd text me where to meet her," Calix said as he continued pacing.
"Maybe she doesn't have any mobile credit," one of our classmates, who was busy playing with Ci-N, suggested.
Yeah, someone was actually playing with her. I just don't remember his name.
"That's possible… What's your name again?" I asked.
"We've been in the same class for so long, and you still don't know my name?"
"Do you think I'd ask if I knew?" I snapped.
Just say your name instead of making a fuss.
"Tsk! Eren de Luna…" he answered.
"Okay…" I turned back to Calix. "Eren is right. Maybe she doesn't have credit."
Calix didn't respond. He just stared at his phone again and went back to pacing.
Now I'm getting impatient too. On top of that, we don't even have class. Ma'am Zaragoza isn't here.
I grabbed my phone. Might as well play a game. But when I unlocked it, I saw a message from an unknown number.
From: +639*********
Message: Mica here... Please tell Calix to meet me at our usual meeting place after dismissal. Thanks.**
Why did she text me? Looks like this message has been here for a while. I walked up to Calix and showed him my phone.
"Turns out, she texted me. Hehe," I said, forcing a smile.
Calix immediately grabbed my phone and stared at the message.
"Happy now? Can you stop pacing now?" I asked him.
He handed my phone back and finally sat down in silence. There! Problem solved!
Our next teacher finally arrived. Time felt so slow. This must be what people mean when they say, "It feels like eternity."
Calix was obviously restless, like he was sitting on hot coals.
"Make a report about national heroes. Do it now! Here are your group members," Ms. Smith ordered.
She doesn't even act like a teacher, but she's cool—and sexy.
"...Mariano, Peralta, Braselton, & Rivera…" she called our names.
Nice! That's me, David, Ci-N, and Calix.
We moved our seats closer to Calix. It was obvious he had no intention of leaving his spot.
"What are we supposed to do?" I asked while rummaging through my bag for paper.
"No idea…" Ci-N replied.
I took out my notebook. I'll write our tasks here.
"I'll write it!" Ci-N volunteered and snatched my notebook.
Because she was careless, my notebook fell, and all the papers stuffed inside scattered everywhere.
"Ugh, seriously!"
I started picking them up, including the loose papers that had fallen out. Just as I was about to grab the last one, Calix beat me to it.
It was a love letter.
"Why do you have this?! Where did you get this?!" he asked me angrily.
Honestly, I forgot that was in my bag. It had completely slipped my mind for a long time. I thought I had thrown it away, but it turns out it was just inside my notebook.
"A-ah..."
The other idiots were already staring at us.
"Can't you do something without making noise?!" Ma'am scolded us.
"WHERE?!" he yelled.
"Upstairs, in the room—Hey!"
Calix ran out quickly. Our classmates stood up, looking back and forth between me and the door.
"What just happened?" Ma'am asked calmly.
I scratched my head. "Well... uh... um..."
"Just follow him if you can't explain it," Ma'am said in a bored tone.
I did as she said and quickly walked out. I was sure he was headed upstairs because that's where I got the letter.
As I neared the room, I heard someone crying. It was coming from the room where I found the letter. I carefully peeked inside.
It was Calix. He was kneeling on the floor, his head down, staring at the papers scattered in front of him.
I knew I shouldn't approach him in a moment like this. I could tell he wanted to be alone. But still...
I slowly sat down beside him. "C-can I—"
"Don't talk yet. I don't want a lecture," he said, so I stayed silent.
I wasn't sure if I should leave or just sit there.
"S-she always gave me letters. I-I loved reading them," he said, still crying.
"A-at first, I was confused. B-but now, it's clear to me—I love her so much."
I just stared at him.
"H-how can I ever make her feel that now? I'm such an idiot!" he suddenly hit his own head.
I was startled, so I immediately stopped him. His crying grew even louder. Before, I used to laugh whenever I saw guys crying like this. But now, all I felt was pity.
I hugged him. No malice!
He kept crying, and I started tearing up too. I hate emotional moments! So annoying!
He cried for several minutes before he finally stopped. He picked up the scattered letters from Mica and started reading them one by one.
'I grabbed one and opened it. Yes, I was being nosy. But I happened to pick up the letter I had found.
"Look at this..."
I showed him the part where it said, 'Just shout that you love me so much, and all of it will go away.'
He smiled. "I hope that really works..."
The bell rang. It was dismissal time. I totally forgot about the report. Damn it! I stood up and dusted off my skirt.
"So? I'll leave you now. It's all up to you," I said with a smile.
I was about to leave the room when Calix suddenly spoke.
"Thank you, Jay..."
I smiled at him again. Then, I quickly walked away.
When I got back to the room, the idiots immediately swarmed me.
"Jay! What happened?!" Ci-N asked.
"Why did Calix leave?" Eren questioned.
"Are he and Mica still meeting?" Kit chimed in.
I winced at them. I'm just one person, guys!
"They're going to talk. Let's just leave them be."
I grabbed my bag and packed my stuff. I was going home. I'd just get updates tomorrow.
"Go home, all of you," I told them.
But those idiots just stood there, clearly having no plans of leaving.
"Are you going home, or do I have to start kicking?"
"Later, Jay..." Ci-N replied.
"You sure?!" I asked, challenging them.
They just shook their heads.
"Fine... No chocolates for you tomorrow."
As soon as I said that, they all hurried out.
"Nice..." I muttered.
Yuri and Keifer were the last ones to leave, both glancing at me before stepping out. If they weren't just friends, I'd think they were attached at the hip.
Right!
I left the room too. Those idiots were still goofing around while walking.
"Jay... I should be the first one to get chocolate, okay?" Ci-N whispered.
"Can't you buy your own chocolate?"
"I can... But it tastes better when it's given or free," Ci-N answered with a wide grin.
I had no response. What a mindset!
We had just passed the main building when Aries's group started walking beside us. Both groups exchanged sharp glares. Mykel was also giving me a nasty look.
Of course, I glared back. The only problem was, I forgot I was walking.
And then I bumped into a wall—just kidding! I actually bumped into someone's back.
The person in front of me had suddenly stopped—it was Keifer.
Why is his back so firm?
But he didn't even acknowledge me bumping into him. He was busy whispering to Felix.
Not that I was eavesdropping, but I happened to hear it.
"Go back for Calix. He's in danger with Mykel."
