"I need to ask you a question... Now I realize you've lost your teeth too... What a catastrophe..."
"You haven't lost your black sense of humor."
"I realized that my daughter didn't get much out of you. Don't take it personally. She's only a little girl and has no experience of such things... She didn't even know how to pull out her nails and teeth in such a way that the pain was unbearable... She still has a lot of compassion in her. You should have made her more cruel, Sarah. You know that's important."
Anna looked at him puzzled. Had he witnessed the torture? To what extent were he and Adam together? Or had Adonis given him the recordings? She didn't believe that Max sneaking into the mansion was part of any agreement the two of them had made. So, in a way, Adam knew about the connection between Adonis and his father? He shook his head and went back to concentrating on the psychological torture his father was applying to Sarah. He didn't want to miss a word she said. It wasn't an easy task, with all the noise the men were making as they built the walls.
The fear in Sarah's eyes didn't stop her from glaring at Henry with hatred.
"What more do you want from me? You owe me a lot, Henry. I kept your secret. I've never told anyone who you really are, or about your dirty past. Besides, I raised your son. Don't be ungrateful, and take me away, with you." She finished, pleading with tears streaming down her face.
Anna looked at Henry, but he was focused on Sarah. Son? What was that woman talking about?
"What I want to ask you is, do you know the whereabouts of Anna's mother's diary?"
"Forget them, Henry. Forget those filthy monsters! I can make you happy in a way that no woman ever has, and you know it. You just didn't stay with me because you wanted a pet monster. You discovered these supernaturals through me and... You can't deny that I satisfied all your fantasies."
"I had Thiago killed." Anna's father said quietly, in a conversation that no one was answering and that was making Anna dizzy. But her father's last words hurt her. Who was Thiago? Why did she feel it was important to know? What was her father hiding from her? Why had she never questioned Henry's paternity? She had always loved him as if he were her real father, despite the fact that he was the man who sold her to the mafia boss. And he always knew what they wanted to do with her. Henry never cared. She closed her eyes, trying to clear her mind so that she could follow the intriguing conversation between the two.
Sarah glared at Anna's father with hatred.
"I burned that trash!" She said, almost spitting out the words.
Anna's father nodded and turned to Anna.
"I think I'll have another coffee." He said with a satisfied smile, and winked at Anna before walking away.
Anna didn't understand what was going on and turned to Sarah.
"What were you talking about? Who's Thiago?"
She glared at Anna with hatred.
"Thiago was my son. Henry made me believe that... His mother's family found out about him, and killed him."
Anna rested her hand on the wall.
"Why would my maternal family kill your son, Sarah?"
"Because... Wow! Anna! You're very stupid. Don't you remember Thiago? You kept telling him how much he looked like your father."
Anna frowned.
"Yes... I remember, but..." Suddenly, Anna understood. Thiago was Henry's son!
"You understand, right? Everything I did against your family was because your father made me believe that they had ordered the death of my son, your brother. I guess I was wrong, wasn't I?"
"Why would Henry kill his own son?"
"He never acknowledged paternity. Thiago wasn't the right kind of monster. His father is obsessed with supernatural creatures."
Anna sat in meditative silence for a few minutes. Henry had just entered her revenge list. And she needed to give him something much worse than she had planned for Sarah. She looked at her with indifference.
"Did you burn Mom's diary without reading a word?"
"Of course not. I read some spicy bits..." She said suddenly, returning to her previous arrogant attitude. It seemed she only feared her father.
"I'm not going to argue with you, Sarah. What do you know about my mother?"
"I don't know anything about that bitch."
"Then I'll have a coffee too, maybe you'll remember something and get a cookie in the meantime?" Anna said, and left her with the boys, who were already finishing their work.
Anna arrived in the kitchen, and the staff were rubbing up against both her father and Adonis.
She felt like asking him what he thought when he found out he was going to be a father on the way there. But she managed to stop herself in time. She wasn't going to give away Emanuelle's secret.
She walked over and sat down, glared at the staff and asked them to serve her coffee.
"Don't be bitter like an unloved old woman, my child." Henry reproached her with a smile, and Adonis laughed too.
"I bet Emanuelle and Jenna would approve of my attitude. Am I to assume that they're unloved, too?"
"You should have used that kind of blackmail with Sarah. Maybe you would have found out sooner."
"Found out what, Dad?"
"That she doesn't know anything. She's not the one who took the diary."
"First of all, Dad, I only found out about this diary recently, and secondly... How can you know that? She told me she burned it."
"Because she knows she can manipulate you."
"What makes you think she didn't take it? She lies, kills and steals. She's evil."
"I know her much better than you do."
"I realized... And since you brought it up... are you really my father?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"You killed your own son because he wasn't supernatural. You made Sarah believe that it was my family that did it..."
