Storm of Fate (2)

"This.... This is it! The answer isn't just numbers, equations, or or even science, IT'S NOT EVEN LOGIC. It's something more, something GREATER!" Ren shouted in excitement.

He then turned to leave the house right away, as if to test his theory. Which worried Yue.

"Ren? Ren, you're scaring me, what's wrong?" Her voice, filled with worry, questioned.

He paid no mind as he left the house, with his sister running after him.

The wind howled as Ren Tianyu stood in the storm, his eyes filled with a wild glow, was looking around frantically. His hand started frantically drawing symbols in the hair, with his breath ragged and clothes soaked, but he didn't care, he was carving with the despairation of a prisoner almost about to escape prison, as if trying to escape from reality itself by carving these symbols.

"Ren, REN! Come inside please, it's not safe, you can do this at another time." Yue pleaded, trying to get closer in this storm, but he barely acknowledged her words. Her heart pounded with unease filling her chest, the storm didn't care, as if trying to stop her from getting to him.

"No no no no no, Yue, it has to be now, IT HAS TO BE! Don't you see it? These symbols, these patterns they're something beyond normal, beyond logic, something BEYOND THIS VERY WORLD ITSELF. Look, even the storm is here, it's... it's charged, it's helping me I can feel it, almost as if, as if THE WORLD, THE STORM, THEY'RE ANSWERING ME, ANSWERING MY CALL!"

Lightning kept flashing, flickering in his eyes filled with exhilaration, not caring about the world around. His drenched clothes clung to his body as he frantically moved around, drawing, tracing, the symbols in the air.

His voice, filled with uncontrollable energy.

"I can finally see it, after all these years, I CAN FINALLY SEE IT, I CAN SEE THE LINK, THE THE CONNECTION, I CAN DO IT!"

"REN, PLEASE, COME INSIDE, IT'S DANGEROUS."

"No, Yue, I can't, I can't do this at another time, Look, can't you see? The world is talking to me, pushing me further, telling me I'M RIGHT! I can't stop now, can I?" His eyes were now filled with a more maniacal gleam, the excitement has now evolved into something worse, from a prisoner escaping, to a prisoner about to destroy the prison just to escape.

"This doesn't feel right, no this isn't right. He has always chased his dreams, and achieved them, but he was never like this, he was always calm, even when he finished the previous research, he just smilied happily."

Yue whispered as she started finding it weird, but Ren didn't even hear or acknowledge her worries and kept frantically drawing with the storm raging on.

"It's like, like someone, something is pushing him, and I don't like it one bit. REN, REN JUST COME INSIDE PLEASE!"

This time, he didn't even notice or turn to look at her, he was now deaf to everything around him, from the storm to his sister's pleas. His mind had transcended anything, only focusing on what he's doing.

He was on the verge of achieving something grand, something nobody else did before him and nobody will do after him. His fingertips, the very ones he's tracing with, felt charged, filled with energy unknown to man.

His eyes were now seeing something that's not humanly possible, he saw something like a galaxy, something filled with a golden stream of stars and bodies filled with energy.

He didn't know how or why, but he could tell, this was a barrier, THE BARRIER, the barrier between world's which is also the connection between them all, something that no mortal, human or not, should ever gaze upon or even know of.

His movements became more erratic, more frantic, as if now, after seeing the barrier, he could grasp for something, he could physically feel it.

"I CAN SEE IT, I CAN FEEL IT, HAHA, FINALLY, I CAN HAVE IT!" He now couldn't care less about anything else.

A bright white light illuminated the street, he didn't notice it nor pay anything else any mind, but his sister did, his sister saw it. She saw the headlights of the truck, illuminating the darkness, and heading straight for him.

"TIANYU!" She screamed, she howled, but he didn't even look at her. Her heart was now filled with horror, the horror that her brother, the one who was always there, will disappear. She lunged forward, trying to get to him before the truck does, not caring about anything else, just like he's doing, but with a different, more noble, reason.

He didn't see anything at this moment, he was still lost in his revelation, oblivious to everything around him.

The truck drew near, not able to stop in this harsh weather....
