CHAPTER 21: Coincidence

He took her away from me, made sure I couldn't reach her, married her behind my back, betrayed me, and in the end — he let her die.

He thought I wouldn't find out what he did? No, I knew more than he could ever imagine.

I had become darker, stronger. That's why I joined the dreaded network, secretly preparing myself to come for him.

"I think I should step down now," her voice brought me out of my thoughts.

And I turned, smiling at her. She tried to push the car door open, but I stopped her in time.

"Wait, my pumpkin, I've got your back," I said, quickly getting out of the car and walking to her side. I pressed the door handle and held my hand out. She stepped out of the car, smiling, and I slightly bowed my head.

"That's fine, my pumpkin," I said, and she laughed, covering her mouth with her hand in a playful way.

"You sure have your way all the time," she teased, followed by a soft chuckle.
