CHAPTER 33: What Happened?

The Next Morning

Catherine's POV

The loud noise of music rumbled through my eardrums like a sickening stench, almost deafening.

I winced and rolled to the other end of the bed.

A sharp, cutting pain shot through my head. Strong. Pulsating.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, letting them adjust to the red light simmering through the room.

How did I get here? What is this…

"Argh." A gasp escaped my lips as the words began to form in my thoughts.

I slowly sat up, rubbing my face with both hands.

Then I opened my eyes fully.

They landed on the ruined cake, the scattered bottles of wine on the floor, the blaring music, and the blinding shimmer of light.

"Gosh…" I muttered.

I never knew I ruined all these in frustration last night, after countless calls and messages that never got a reply.

A strong force suddenly pulled at my head. Stronger than before. It echoed painfully. My head throbbed in agony.
