The magistrate knocked on the door and a woman opened the door.
"Oh mr Robert"the woman greeted the magistrate with a smile,
"Can we come in?"the magistrate asked smiling at the woman,
She frowned staring at Fredrick and Della,
"Sure"
She opened the door and they entered the small house.
"Your husband isn't yet back?"Fredrick asked the woman,
She sat in front of him, while he sat close to Della and magistrate on the other side.
"No,he has been spending time a lot in his place of work after our son's death"the woman had a look of agony saying the word,
"My greatest condolence ma'am"Fredrick tried consoling,
"He is gone, nothing we can do"the woman gave a faint smile,
"We are here to ask some questions regarding the case, mind we do?"Fredrick questioned,
The woman frowned,
"What do you want to know sire?"she questioned,
"Heard the witch had caught up with your child when he escorted your husband to work, but didn't your husband or the workers see anything?"Fredrick asked,
"They said it was unusual when Zane had ran off, they didn't take note of where he was going and later found his body in the road side"she explained,
"A witch doesn't eat a body half,it eats the person fully"Della voiced out,
The woman fell short, she didn't know how to respond to that.
"Where you certain the witch had killed your child?"Fredrick asked staring at the woman,
"Yes! Don't,don't come here trying to get information on my child, you are not bringing him back to me!"the woman yelled at them, she stood up angrily.
"Please leave!"tears rolled down from her eyes,
Fredrick frowned turning to Della and they got up,
"I'm really sorry,we were doing just our jobs"Fredrick replied,
"Other councilors were here before and they already asked questions, please stay away!"the woman glared at them.
Della sat in the carriage with Fredrick,
"This village is not really safe"Della voiced out,
"The villagers we spoke to seemed okay"Fredrick responded,
"No,firstly the magistrate was odd and he had a pregnant daughter which I'm guessing he is the father and the mother of the deceased child was really odd"Della explained,
"Don't bother yourselves with these things,I will take care of it,you didn't feel the stones right?"
"No"Della said shortly.
Soon the wheels of the carriage pulled over as they had gotten back home.
Stepping down from the carriage,Della saw an unfamiliar carriage pulled over.
Someone she hadn't expected stepped down from the carriage, two people she hadn't expected.
"Lord Lucas"she muttered,with a heavy sigh.
Lord Lucas and Oliver walked closer to them with a broad smile on Lucas's face.
"Good day Lord Lucas"Fredrick greeted,
Della gave him a small bow feeling unsettled,
she wondered if he was here to go get her back.
It had been just yesterday she insulted him and here he was in her home.
"Let's go in"Fredrick announced and allowed lord Lucas enter his mansion first.
Della was last to go in as she felt mortified knowing she was in for it,her mind ponder on what would be her fate now.
Trying to hurry to her room to avoid being in the same place with them, she was stopped by Lord Lucas.
"The brave Delilah"he called with a smirk.
Della glared silently but offered him a smile before running off.
Lord Lucas chuckled, she sure had drop her venturesome behavior, what a bummer.
"We should head to my study room my lord"Fredrick initiated offering a small smile to the man.
He hadn't expected the infamous lord to accept his invitation and wonder what the man was scheming,he needed to get him on his side which was the only significance right now in order to stop the witches.
Sitting in his study, lord Lucas sipped on the tea the maid had brought for him.
Oliver remained silent and hadn't touched his,
"We are not really close to invite me over Fredrick"Lord Lucas smirked a little, one of his fangs visible.
Fredrick cleared his throat knowing of this vampire's reputation,
"We wouldn't want to reckon on that my lord"he shared his humor,
Lord Lucas keening red eyes stared at the man,
"The witches are getting closer to the stones"Fredrick stated seriously, his face had a stern expression.
"Stones?"lord Lucas feigned innocent,
"Yes,I know you are a smart man and you would know of the happenings around"Fredrick replied.
"Indeed you are not to underestimated"Lord Lucas twirled with the tea in his hand.
"I need your help in protecting the stones and stopping the chaos"Fredrick stated, with almost pleading eyes.
"I don't involve in those loathsome creatures"
he said in distaste,
Fredrick sighed,
"The stones are in your mansion"Fredrick informed, something he wanted to keep a secret but knew how this lord could be.
Lord Lucas narrowed his eyes,
"My mansion?"he asked,his lip twitching.
"Yes,I have done my research as I have been seeking for the stones for years"Fredrick responded,
"You seem more interested in the stones than your job councilman Fredrick"Lord Lucas frowned.
Indeed lord Lucas was a conniving man,
"Just doing my job my lord"Fredrick offered a small smile hoping this vampire would fall for it,
"Or is it relating to someone, perhaps you working with a witch?"Lord Lucas gaze narrowed down,
Fredrick coughed,
"Didn't know you to make assumptions my lord"Fredrick added trying to outsmart the man.
"I have to,else the world won't stabilized"lord Lucas retorted with a smile.
"Heard you have two daughters?"Lord Lucas questioned,
Fredrick nodded staring at the man,
"They would be Elizabeth and Delilah?"he asked again,
"Yes,you seem to know them my lord?"Fredrick didn't want his daughters getting involved with lord Lucas.
"They are fascinating girls, troublesome to be honest"his eyes scanned around Fredrick's study.
"Did they offend you my lord?"Fredrick asked,he didn't know those daughters of his were already popular around lord Lucas.
