Another Visit To Black Bridge

The next day,Della was woken up by the maids of the mansion.

Still unaware of where lord Lucas was taking her,she sighed wearing her dress.

Wearing her coat over her dress,the maids had informed her to wear a coat.

She frowned putting her gloves on,west hill wasn't in it chilly season and the weather was usually hot.

Entering the dinning,she was stunned to see no one.

"Mi lord would be here soon"informed a maid after Della took her seat.

She nodded,it wasn't like she looked forward in eating with him.

Della was served on her plate,it made her miss her home when she ate with the Harrisons.

"Eating without me"came the voice behind,she turned to see lord Lucas.

Her heart had jumped startled,

"Good morning my lord"she bowed her head slightly in greetings.

He sat down,his eyes staring at her.

She felt a little better knowing she wasn't eating alone even though she hated this man,but she was glad he was here.

The maids immediately served food in his plate,

Taking his forks,he took a piece of meat from his plate usually served to him,he put the meat on Della's plate.

"You should eat well"he stated,

Della nodded not expecting his gesture,

"Where are we going?"she asked glancing at him before staring at her food plate.

"You shouldn't be impatient Delilah"he said drawling on the Delilah.

Della frowned,this was the lord Lucas she knew,not the one who did something nice for her a minute ago.

Soon she left with lord Lucas,Oliver wasn't yet back making her wonder if lord Lucas was usually all alone in the mansion.

Oliver seemed to be his only family,which made Della realize she knew little of the man and nothing about his family.

Lord Lucas sat down facing her in the moving carriage,Della didn't want to stare at his face and turned her focus to the window staring at the trees around the desolated road.

"Mi lord"she called to hear a hum from lord Lucas in response,

"Do you have any sibling?"came the question from Della glancing at the man.

Lord Lucas stared at her,before answering her.

"I don't,my only sibling I had is dead,she was killed alongside my parents when I was younger".

Della's eyes narrowed down,she was taken aback by his nonchalant words talking about the death of his entire family.

Della felt remorseful for him knowing he spent his life without his family,she didn't know what it meant not having a family cause all she had was her mother then the Harrisons.

She knew how losing one's family could feel,she felt it when she lost her mother but knowing lord Lucas grew taking over his father's position without a family by his side.

"You are making them proud"Della said with a small smile.

She didn't give out any remorseful words knowing well she wouldn't want to hear such words from anyone,pity wasn't something one needed when they lost their loved ones.

Lord Lucas smiled,he was glad she didn't show him pity which he got tired of hearing from people a long time ago.

"Killed their murders,their bloods on my

hand was refreshing"came the words from lord Lucas with a tint of darkness in his emotionless bored eyes.

Della frowned,she didn't know if he was being sincere with his words.

Soon the horses of the carriage neighed with the carriage making an abrupt stop.

"Are we there yet?"Della asked,her green eyes scouring around.

"Yes"Lord Lucas replied before stepping

down from the carriage.

He stretched his hand out for Della who stared at him before taking his hand.

Her eyes swept around before a frown settled on her face,

They were in Black Bridge.

Somewhere Della had thought she wouldn't visit again,the cold breeze blew making Della shudder.

"Are you okay?"Lord Lucas asked,

"Yes,what are we doing here?"she questioned,

"Curiosity"a short nonchalant response from him.

Della frowned,lord Lucas wasn't being helpful with his words and gave her haughty replies.

He walked forward leaving her behind knowing she would follow him.

After walking for a while,they got to the magistrate home.

"Don't drink anything he gives you"Della warned,

"Seems you have been here"Lord Lucas said with furrowed brows stunned.

Della just nodded at response,the magistrate was awry and she didn't like his presence.

Not knowing if he could poison anything he offers,Della had another ability where she could purify bad things,she had taken the drink the other day to avoid the piercing eyes from the magistrate whereas her body would be able to purify the drink

if it was poisoned.

Standing on the doorstep,lord Lucas knocked on the door before it opened.

The magistrate daughter stood with a stoic look,she wasn't pleased to see Della but seeing lord Lucas,her face glowed.

Lord Lucas was indeed a charming fine man and women were easily swarmed by his beauty.

"Good day sire"she greeted acting coy,

Della frowned,she stared at the girl's belly bump knowing she was pregnant.

"Is the magistrate home?"lord Lucas asked flashing a small smile at the girl.

"No sire,he is on his way"she stated opening the door widely for them.

"You can wait for him"she offered.

Lord Lucas nodded and entered the house with Della behind.

Lord Lucas upon entering the house,studied around the place before seating on the chair.

Della took her seat also close to lord Lucas,

"Are you another councilman?"the magistrate daughter asked,

Lord Lucas glanced at Della,

"Yes"he replied shortly.

The girl nodded,her mind wandering why he came with this councilwoman.

It wasn't up to a week when Della visited,she wondered why the lady was back.

"Taking care of your health?"Della asked staring at the girl,

The girl frowned upon her question,

"Yes,why do you ask mi lady?"she asked with a forced smile.

"Cause of the human growing inside you"came the nonchalant reply from Della.
