Tazuna and Zhang Qijie flinched out of instinct, the atmosphere charged and full of tension. Tazuna internally growled menacingly, as his instincts screamed to overtake his reasoning. Empress Chen was brimmed with outrage, her anger seeping through her body like an untamed wildfire. 


"You dare to lust for these unbloomed flowers? As the wife of His Majesty, such disrespect will damage your legacy!" Empress Chen shouted, her fury unmatched. 


She had been following the Jiajing Emperor for years. For these years, she remained devoted and respectful to the Jiajing Emperor.
