The Shuxiong area was abundant in rivers and valleys. With towering peaks and a vibrant terrain, only warm, summer breezes passed through the local area.
A few rails of fencing encircled thatched houses. A brood of colorful chicks scuttered in and out of the yards, pecking on the ground for seeds and corn kernels. Cicadas buzzed loudly in the summer heat, as the high-rising sun drenched the atmosphere in a sweltering heat.
In front of the village, there was a stretch of road, leading to further into the countryside and beyond. And lining this same road were tall, waist high reeds that swayed and danced in the mid-afternoon sun.
A soundless croak whispered through the reeds, a massive rock partially covered with reeds met the eyes of two villagers, who just returned from their fishing trip.
