"Why are you looking at houses? Can you even afford one?"
Zhang Wu was as sarcastic as ever.
Zhou Yi didn't even glance up. "I can't, but my parents can."
Zhang Wu clenched his teeth. "Stop pretending. If you had that kind of money, why were you living like that before?"
Zhou Yi ignored him. Zhang Wu snorted and stormed off to the forum to vent his frustration.
Using an anonymous account, he began posting vicious rumors about Zhou Yi.
"Zhou Yi isn't some rich kid who found his long-lost parents! He's just a broke loser trying to fool everyone!"
"That perfect test score? All thanks to cheating—he used some high-tech Bluetooth device to trick us all!"
"He's nothing but a scumbag who doesn't deserve your admiration!"
Zhang Wu fired off several posts in quick succession. In a forum filled with praise for Zhou Yi, his thread stood out like a sore thumb. Unsurprisingly, a few jealous guys jumped in to support him.
"Finally, someone's exposing this guy. What does he have besides his face? You women are so shallow, drooling over a pretty boy like him. Pathetic."
"Exactly. Who does Zhou think he is, some big celebrity? Needing people to queue up just to add him on WeChat? Ridiculous."
"If he's so smart, why isn't he directly admitted into University A? Cheating's the only explanation."
"Right. A loser can't become a genius overnight."
"He's no rich kid. I've never heard of anyone in Huaihai finding a lost child. Just making things up."
Zhang Wu's thread quickly gained hundreds of replies. Supporters and detractors clashed fiercely, turning the comment section into a chaotic mess.
"Zhou Yi will debut as a star someday—mark my words."
"Absolutely. His face is even more handsome than any celebrity's. Admit it—you're all jealous."
"Where's the proof he cheated? He took the test right in front of everyone. How could he possibly use a Bluetooth device?"
"Exactly. If he had one, how would you even know? Who are you to act like you understand him so well?"
"Have the guts to reveal your real identity and confront him. Hiding behind an anonymous account makes you look pathetic."
"The OP is clearly just jealous of our king. Look how triggered they are."
Reading these comments, Zhang Wu's eyes turned red with rage. Unable to restrain himself, he lashed out in the thread:
"Did Zhou Yi pay you all or brainwash you? Why are you defending him like some cult?"
Immediately, more people mocked him.
"Oh, our king didn't pay us—we just love his face."
"You're jealous, aren't you? You must be close to him to get this triggered."
"Does your crush like Zhou Yi? That's why you're acting like this, right?"
"We're not defending anyone. You're the one throwing baseless accusations around. Even as a bystander, I find it unbearable."
Faced with relentless comebacks, Zhang Wu angrily deleted the thread. But this only fueled more ridicule.
To make matters worse, Zhou Yi soon proved him wrong.
