Chapter 113: Naval Interception Battle

Chapter 113: Naval Interception Battle

In the first half of the Grand Line, beneath the Red Soil Continent, lies the fortress possessing absolute righteous power – Marine Headquarters, Marineford.

Inside an office paved with tatami mats, Sengoku was currently hunched over, reviewing documents.

"Whitebeard Second Division Commander, Portgas D. Ace, suspected to be making contact with Blackbeard Teach..."

"Ai~~"

Sengoku removed his frog-themed glasses, closed his eyes, and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "What a restless bunch. I always feel like some major incident is about to happen."

He put down the last report in his hand, pulled open a drawer, took out a bag of senbei rice crackers, and had just taken one out, about to pop it into his mouth...

"Purupurupuru!!!!" (Sound of Den Den Mushi)

Suddenly, a series of urgent, low-pitched sounds erupted!

Hearing the sound, Sengoku was instantly alarmed, his gaze snapping towards the silver Den Den Mushi in the corner.

That was a special Den Den Mushi, incapable of normal communication. Its sole function was to receive signals from the Golden Den Den Mushi, specifically for activating a Buster Call!

Within moments of the Den Den Mushi ringing, the entire Marine Headquarters building was thrown into chaos.

After all, mobilizing ten warships and nearly ten thousand soldiers, even with the ample forces permanently stationed at HQ, couldn't be accomplished instantly. Soldiers quickly began to muster their equipment.

"Where is the location?!"

"Initiated from Enies Lobby!"

"Isn't that Judiciary Island?!"

"Never mind that! Assemble quickly!"

Simultaneously, Brannew immediately ran to Sengoku's office, bursting in and yelling urgently.

"Fleet Admiral! This is the list of Vice Admirals currently at Headquarters who can be dispatched immediately!"

"No need to rush. I've already contacted Aokiji. As for the Vice Admirals..."

Sengoku swept his eyes over the list and directly pointed out five names: "Momonga, Doberman, Onigumo, Yamakaji, Gion. Let them go."

"Yes, sir!" Brannew saluted and immediately rushed out.

Woo— Woo— Woo!

At this moment, on the turbulent, dark sea, the storm had gradually subsided. A shark-headed steam train sped rapidly across the water's surface.

Aboard the Rocketman, which had just escaped the tsunami's assault, the cabin was filled with lively noise.

"Rubber Rubber... Three Hundred Pounds..."

"...Siege Cannon!"

"Waaah—I'm dead!"

Zambai imitated Luffy and Zoro's earlier technique for breaking through the giant waves, while a group of his underlings opposite him coordinated, throwing their heads back and collapsing.

"If you say 'three hundred pounds' one more time, I'll cut you down first!"

Veins throbbed on Zoro's forehead as he gritted his teeth. "So noisy! The tsunami has passed! Get back to your own ship!"

"What does it matter?"

"The more, the merrier!"

The Kiwi and Mozu sisters squeezed past Reiner on the sofa, sitting down directly on either side of Nami.

"By the way, do you need me to give you some information on Enies Lobby?"

"Thank you very much, but no need. We have some," Nami replied with an awkward smile, clearly not quite used to their overly familiar manner.

"Everyone! There's something up ahead!"

Granny Kokoro, holding a liquor bottle, emerged from the driver's cabin. "Looks like intercepting enemies, hahaha!"

"Enemies?"

Usopp looked puzzled. "But we're in the middle of the sea! Where would enemies come from?"

"Heeheehee! We'll know when we see! Let's go!"

Luffy grinned, then stuck his hand out of the cabin, grabbed onto the locomotive, and the next moment, his entire body shot forward.

The group followed him out. The rain outside had stopped, indicating they had left the sea region affected by Water 7.

Standing on the roof of the train and looking into the distance, they could vaguely make out a dark-colored train carriage stationary on the tracks, being relentlessly battered and rocked by the turbulent waves.

The rear of the carriage was packed with Marine soldiers, all looking panic-stricken at the rapidly approaching Sea Train that would smash them to pieces in moments.

"Don't worry!!" A figure wearing a helmet, with a gaunt face, leaped off the carriage.

"Be careful! Captain T-Bone!"

"To think he'd voluntarily stay behind as the first to cover the retreat!"

"So moving! Woo woo~~"

"Captain T-Bone will forever be the person I admire most!"

"Leave it to me!"

T-Bone charged towards the Rocketman along the tracks, his gaze fixed resolutely on the oncoming Sea Train.

"How could I possibly let my adorable subordinates get hurt!? I will be the one to end your advance!"

Seeing the Marine commander charging straight at them, fearless of death, Sanji, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, couldn't help but remark, "Looks like a Marine who is deeply trusted."

"That's 'Ship-Slasher' T-Bone!"

Zambai, from behind, ran up, shouting frantically, "He's known as a master swordsman capable of cutting even warships in two!"

"And that carriage!" Granny Kokoro stuck her head out the window, reminding everyone:

"The Puffing Tom is a very sturdy Sea Train! If we crash into that carriage, we'll be smashed to pieces along with them!"

"Got it, Granny!"

Reiner stuck his head out and yelled down below, "Relax! We'll handle it!"

"I can feel it... he's a very strong swordsman."

Zoro smirked, drew his twin swords, and leaped towards the front of the train, his eyes fixed intently on his opponent.

"None of you interfere! Leave this to me! If the carriage can't be crashed into... then let's just cut it apart too..."

"Heeheehee! Then it's all yours, Zoro," Luffy grinned, hands on his hips, taking a step back.

"Hey, Straw Hat Bro... Is this... really okay?" Zambai still couldn't help but worry. If they were hit by the opponent's attack, their train would surely be sliced apart.

"Ah, it's fine."

Luffy grinned at him. "Didn't you hear Zoro? He said not to interfere."

Reiner leaned back against a lump of iron on the locomotive, his gaze shifting towards the rapidly approaching Marine commander.

"I despise roundabout attacks the most!"

T-Bone drew the two-handed greatsword from his back, standing ramrod straight on the tracks. No matter how much the rails beneath him were battered and swayed by the waves, his body remained firm and unmoved.

His gaze was locked deadly onto Zoro, veins bulging on his arms as he hoisted the greatsword onto his shoulder.

Zoro, opposite him, looked gravely at the swordsman before him, crossing his two swords vertically on either side, tips pointing upwards!

RUMBLE!!

With a flash of lightning, incandescent light tore through the pitch-black sea surface, vanishing in an instant!

Both men pushed off hard with their feet, simultaneously shooting towards each other like projectiles. T-Bone swung his greatsword, and a giant green slash shot out as if cleaving the sea surface.

It pressed forward with unstoppable momentum, as if intending to cut down all obstacles in its path.

"Right Angle Flying Bird Ship Slash!!"

"Two-Sword Style!"

Facing the straight-on slash, Zoro's gaze was resolute, showing no intention of evading. His twin swords glinted with a cold light.

"—Rashomon!!"

CLANG—!

A clear sword cry lingered endlessly in the air. The moment the two engaged, victory and defeat were decided!

The flash of swords and shadows was as fleeting as an epiphyllum blossom. Two lines of blood appeared on T-Bone's chest. He was sent flying backward, plunging headfirst into the sea, kicking up a splash.

However, the momentum of Zoro's slash was undiminished. Like a thin thread sinking into tofu, it sliced through the train carriage floating and swaying on the sea surface.

"A one... one-hit... one-hit kill!!"

Everyone stared, dumbfounded, mouths agape. The Rocketman sped straight ahead, passing through the carriage that had been sliced in two and was now flying off the rails into the air.

Innumerable Marine soldiers stood ramrod straight inside the carriage, all pale with terror!

Woo— Woo— Woo!

The Rocketman's chimney continued to belch smoke as it sped onward towards Enies Lobby without any pause.

Zoro landed back on the front of the locomotive, slowly sheathing his twin swords, a slight smirk on his lips. "Indeed, a strong swordsman."

"And then you one-shot him, just to make yourself look even more badass, right?" Reiner scoffed coldly, rolling his eyes.

The group returned to the train cabin, leaving the Franky Family members sprawled on the roof in a daze.

"Every single one of them is strong as a monster."

Zambai slowly came back to his senses, looking around at his companions, and asked:

"So... we came all this way from so far... just to become baggage?"

"Seems... that's right..."
