Chapter 1

She gently closed her thin eyelashes. Clear drops of water flowed through the slits of her eyes and fell down her cheeks.

"If you found out that your lover betrayed you, what would you do?"

What should she do?

A gasp came from the gap, making people blush like sharp needles piercing her heart.

Through the wooden door, the man's familiar back rubbed fiercely against the hot body of the woman below.

Suddenly dizzy, Rosabella Brown trembled as she reached out to grab the doorknob.

The two people entangled in the room stopped when they heard the noise. The woman looked out the door in a daze, shyly pulling the blanket up to cover herself, the corner of her eyes drawing a smile.

The man frowned and turned back, looked at the girl standing at the door for a moment, slowly stood up, and put on his clothes.

Isabella sat up on the bed, her white hands still tightly gripping the thick blanket, looking at Rosabella in surprise.

Rosabella turned and walked towards Darryl, wanting to ask a question, but unable to. Her breath caught in her throat.

She trembled and clenched her hands into fists, her voice weak as she asked a silly question.

"Why?"

The man fell silent, leaning back lazily in his chair, exhaling a cloud of white smoke. After a long moment, he opened his eyes, his voice filled with disgust as he answered her question.

"As you can see. She is Isabella, my ex-girlfriend. She is back so let's break up. We have been together for three years but only stopped at normal hugs and kisses. Tell me, you are so conservative, what should I do? How can I love you? But Isabella is different, she is very hot and sexy, and she gave me the most important thing about her, proving that she loves me very much. I love her too. Another important thing is that her family is rich and can give me what I want."

A slap landed on Darryl's face, causing his face to tilt to one side. He turned back, smiled weakly, and continued.

"Because you are too naive."

Rosabella stepped back, staggering back a few steps. Yes, she was too naive, too naive to trust him, to believe in his words, to believe that he had broken up with his ex-lover, to let the two of them hurt her in secret stubbornly.

The day Darryl confessed to her, he said, "Isabella, you are the most beautiful flower in my heart. I will be with you for the rest of my life."

At that crucial moment, he had called her name wrong. At that time, Rosabella didn't think much of it. She thought she had misheard. Now, when she heard Darryl introduce his first love, she realized that her name sounded very similar to that girl's.

It turned out that in the past three years, she had just been a replacement. Three years... three years... the first love of her life had just disappeared. Her feelings were like a ball, like a toy in their hands.

Her feelings instantly shattered like a glass cup, thousands of sharp pieces of porcelain cutting into her heart that contained countless memories of them.

Shattered in the blink of an eye.

Rosabella smiled bitterly. She turned around, took a deep breath, clenched her hands so tightly that her nails dug into her flesh, tried to hold back her tears, and calmly walked away.

She didn't cry, she wouldn't let herself cry in front of them.

Her small legs kept running, running fast, running and running... She couldn't feel anything anymore, her paralyzed legs collapsed on the side of the road in a deserted place.

Rosabella raised her face to the dark sky and screamed, crying as if only that could soothe her wounds.

Since she was young, she has always carried the label of being strong and resilient. She didn't dare to show weakness because she knew that even if she was weak, no one would care, there would only be contempt and ridicule.

Just this once, just this once, to satisfy her weakness for the past twenty-three years...

The shadow stretched out on the road. She cried and was weak. She could only continue to hide in her shell. She walked soullessly on the deserted road.

During the three years of their relationship, Rosabella was always by Darryl's side, helping him from when he had nothing to when he was successful, although her family was not rich, she still supported her boyfriend to the best of her ability.

In the end, what did Rosabella get in return? Betrayal.

She left the place that brought her so many memories with an empty heart.

Romano Group's 19th shopping mall.

Applause, firecrackers, two fake lions dancing happily in front.

Today, the Romano family opened a new branch, the ribbon cutter was Dominic Romano - the general manager of the Romano group, the eldest grandson of Usha Romano.

The guests entered one by one, shook hands with the general manager and kept saying:

"Congratulations, congratulations."

Dominic still kept a cold expression, standing straight in the middle, he was wearing a milky white suit and black leather shoes.

Handsome face, the body of a romantic handsome man, smooth white skin, black eyes but a cold gaze, and a naturally high nose bridge.

He bowed his head, and the people around had to follow:

"Thank you. Please come in."

A man in his fifties slowly walked in, his face radiant, his mouth smiling, his silver hair flying, he walked over and patted Dominic on the shoulder, continuously nodding his head in praise:

"You did a great job. Under your leadership, the company is growing. Congratulations."

Dominic kept the same expression.

Since he was young, he had always been introverted and had little interaction with others, so his answers always made people think he was arrogant.

Just like today, no matter how many people praised or congratulated him, his face still couldn't smile, his expression was cold to the point of being scary.

It seemed that on that face, whether sad or happy, there was only one expression, not changing at all.

His answers were always as brief as possible.

Because he had been obsessed with time since he was young and still couldn't break out of his shell.

Of course, he still respected those who had gone before him like Curtis, so he still politely replied.

"Thank you."
