Two luxury cars were heading towards the Brown house. There was a loud chatter all around, not knowing who among the people present was talking. Perhaps it was out of jealousy or sincere congratulations. But Rosabella was not happy, the more she listened the sadder she became.
"Oh my god, Rosabella is so lucky. Just looking at her, you can tell she has money."
"I heard the groom is the eldest son of the famous Romano company president."
"That's great."
"Congratulations, Mrs. Lawrence."
"Thank you, thank you."
The groom's party entered, and they bowed politely to everyone. Then, they approached and shook hands with each person. The rich family had a different demeanor. Not only were the young men handsome, smart, and attractive, but the old men and their wives were also full of charm. The Brown family suddenly lit up.
Sharon whispered in Dominic's ear: "Look, your bride looks so beautiful today."
Dominic looked at Rosabella as if he wanted to throw a bucket of cold water on her face. That gaze was even colder than ice in a snowy mountain all year round. It seemed that he had no sympathy for his future wife.
Cayle entered last, smiling at everyone, his eyes still glancing around until he saw Rosabella. The smile quickly disappeared, he was surprised, confused, not understanding what was going on. Cynthia ran over and asked:
"Cayle, are you tired from the long journey?"
"Why are you here? Isn't today your wedding day?"
"No, today is the wedding day of Rosabella and your brother."
Cayle collapsed, not believing what he heard. For many days he had been eagerly waiting for this day to see Rosabella again, he didn't expect to see her in such a situation. Cayle tried to hold his hand tightly to suppress his emotions. He looked at Rosabella, her face was sad, her eyes were still filled with tears, and her body was thinner than before.
A while after the adults finished talking, the handshake between Usha and Zohar officially announced that they had become in-laws.
Rhett and Sharon stood outside chatting:
"Look at your brother, such a beautiful bride but doesn't know how to smile. His face is always cold as ice. What a pity."
"He's always like that. He never smiles in front of women."
"It's been so long and he still can't forget the past."
"You mean Lillie."
"Who else is here, he's so stubborn."
Mr. Zohar hugged his granddaughter again, then whispered in her ear:
"You have to be happy, living alone you have to know how to take care of yourself. Although their family has many rules, I know you won't be used to it, but try to study well. If you can't take it anymore, call home, and I will come to pick you up."
Rosabella hugged her grandfather tightly, trying to hold back her tears so that he wouldn't worry, but it seemed like she couldn't. The more she tried to hold back her tears, the more they fell:
"Okay, I will be happy. Don't worry."
Mr. Zohar wiped the remaining tears from his granddaughter's pretty face:
"Okay, today is a happy day, don't cry, you are very beautiful."
Rosabella nodded, trying to smile to make her grandfather happy, then he held her hand and handed it to Dominic, instructing: "I'll leave this granddaughter to you, you take good care of her, definitely don't let her suffer."
Dominic just nodded.
The applause was like thunder. But the expressions of the bride and groom made people shiver. No one could look at each other, indifferent, indifferent, unconcerned. It was obvious that the applause that was reaching its peak suddenly stopped, everyone was suspicious when they saw the situation of this wedding.
All the ceremonies were over, the Romano family bowed goodbye, then slowly walked towards the gate. Rosabella walked away but turned back. She had never felt so lonely standing in her own house.
Tony cried as he hurriedly hugged Rosabella:
"Sister, do you have to go? I don't want to be busy."
Rosabella sat down beside Tony, gently wiping the tears on his cheeks:
"Good boy, I have to go, I will come back to visit you when I have time. Promise me that you will be good and study hard at home?"
Tony nodded:
"I know. Remember to take care of your health and come back to see me often."
Rosabella looked up at the sky, letting the tears flow back into her eyes, she gently patted her brother's head: "I know."
Lawrence hurriedly ran to hug Tony: "Okay, let your sister go."
Rosabella looked at her father, grandfather, mother, and brother with longing, then looked around the house.
"Rosabella, goodbye." Chinmayi waved goodbye.
"Rosabella, remember to be a good daughter-in-law, otherwise you will be kicked out, losing face for our family." Cynthia raised her head and sneered.
"Cynthia, what are you talking about?" Dawson pulled his daughter's hand inside.
"Okay, go ahead, don't keep everyone waiting." Mr. Zohar tried to hold back and urged his granddaughter.
Rosabella walked over to hug her grandfather and father again, then turned away. Every step was a stream of tears. She didn't dare to look back anymore, afraid that she wouldn't have the courage to walk.
The car door just closed and the car started to roll. Through the window, she saw everyone waving goodbye, her heart felt like it was being torn apart. The whole way, she was silent, looking at the surrounding scenery outside the window. Cayle saw this and worriedly asked:
"Rosabella, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." She shook her head sadly and replied.
"Of course, it's not fun to be away from family. How can she smile when she's with a cold-faced person like you?" Sharon spoke frankly, speaking without thinking, from behind.
"If you're still talking, get out of the car." Dominic's expression didn't change, he said firmly.
Everyone was silent. Rosabella was lost in thought, always looking out the window, watching the scene that had just passed. Dominic was still sitting next to her but still didn't say anything, and couldn't smile either. Cayle silently looked at Rosabella, sighing from time to time, but he had no way to pull her out of this marriage.
On the other side of the car, Lowa confided:
"Seeing Rosabella reluctantly say goodbye to her relatives to become a bride, I remembered myself back then."
