Myriad Fortune Blessed Land

Once there, they saw an elder guarding the treasury. He stood up, about to salute, but the ancestor just said simply "Open the gate." the elder was dazed for a moment, not having seen this serious side of their ancestor for a long time. Now that he saw him like this, he naturally complied and just followed the orders.

He opened the gate but didn't enter, standing outside, waiting for the two there. Lingshe smiled at this, she was proud to have been born in a family that adhered to rules and principles this much. She knew that if the family she was born in was worse, it would be difficult to successfully put her plans into action.

Seeing firsthand how respected her ancestor was, she admitted that she seemed to have entered the easy path. Or rather than the easy path, it should be that she entered the path meant for a talented descendant. Unfortunately, the Yu Lingshe in the story didn't behave like this until much later, after the second female lead died. That was a wakeup call for her.

She was sure not to repeat such mistakes, so she walked with confidence behind her ancestor, sure of the future she would build for herself.

Her ancestor looked at her over his shoulder, satisfied that he had gained such an able granddaughter. He skipped all the entry halls and treasures in the treasury, and there were many, truly. There were weapons of old age, scrolls that seemed to hide numerous things and even seals that represented all the titles the family gained in their long history.

They entered the very last room of the treasure. It was empty, with only three glass pillars reaching into the ceiling. They were see-through except in the middle section. Jade was inlaid there, seemingly hiding the treasure.

The ancestor walked calmly to the left pillar, unhurried steps that seemed to follow a certain pattern, when he arrived in front of the pillar, without even touching the jade, it opened by itself.

He reached in and took out a jade box. It was carved with the patterns of the Pixiu, the treasure keeping divine beast. It was a divine beast that defied fortune itself – with every treasure it gained, it would grow its own fortune instead of losing it through the opportunity, nothing would be lost once it entered its inner space, making it the divine beast all merchants wished to have.

The image of the divine beast was all around the box, on the left and right its wings were folded, below, four clawed paws stood upright, in the front there was the face with an open mouth that pulls all treasures, at the top there was a single horn reaching backwards and at the back was a tail hanging downwards, sealing the exit.

Just looking at it like this, there was no actual cut in the box, was if it was really just a brick of jade that was refined. The Yu ancestor took the box with great care and walked back towards Lingshe, there was a table at the entrance, on which he placed the box

He started explaining "This box was called 'Myriad Fortune Blessed Land' in the old scrolls of our clan. It is said that there was a world hidden in this box, it had the ability to gather the fortune of a clan, seal the fortune to ensure it will last forever, and generate treasures inside through the sealed fortune.

Some analects say that because of the treasure, the clan itself wouldn't gain opportunities anymore, besides the opportunities of the individuals of the clan. Although this makes it difficult for the clan to grow, it embodies the essence of not being greedy and keeping the wealth."

After saying this, he turned around and walked towards the pillar on the right, this time following a different pattern. The jade was opened once again, revealing a jade book with ten jade plates inside.

He walked back towards Lingshe, putting the jade book on the table, explaining "This is the Sutra of Jade Essence. It was complied by ten generations of ancestors. The first generation of our Yu clan wrote the sutra, the next three generation wrote the three immortal chants, followed by the three enlightened chants and finally three mortal chants who were only completed a few short hundred thousand years ago."

Although he explained all this, Lingshe could only read the last page when her ancestor flipped through it. She put her hands on the jade book, feeling the imprinted words "Flow and fill, strong and still" she murmured.

It was truly short, like a chant, but every word she spoke seemed to reveal a deeper truth within. Just having said these words with the jade book in hand seemed to trigger something.

She didn't know what it was, but her body felt as if she had just eaten a full meal, her body was full of energy, making her want to move. Just as she thought of doing so, she saw her grandfather looking at her with a shocked expression.

He asked after being dazed "You… you can read it?" as he said this, he felt his own body, which had become old, fill itself with strength. Although he was a martial artist, he would also decline. His strength might be much stronger than an average male, but compared to his high martial arts level, it wasn't worth mentioning.

Now, he felt as if he was rejuvenated.

Yu Lingshe became excited after seeing this. She spread her hand, pressing it on the last page, repeating with a louder voice and deeper conviction "Flow and fill, strong and still!"

This time, her hand became warm and instead of feeling energised, she felt as if she lost energy, as if she put all her energy into this spell. But, on the other side, her grandfather seemed to undergo a change.

His somewhat sparse hair became fuller, some wrinkles disappeared from his face and there was an aura around him. She remembered the stories her father told her when she was young – this was exactly the aura of a powerful martial artist!

Her grandfather looked at her, his eyes becoming watery "I seem to have regained my strength!" he said, with an excited voice.

Yu Lingshe nodded and then took her hand off the plate, instinctively gaining some knowledge.

She smiled wryly "Grandfather, this… chant… it can't be repeated. I feel like all my power was robbed, but only temporarily. There is a little voice telling me that this was a blessing chant, and every person could only be blessed once in their lifetime.

The three mortal chants can be spoken even by mortals, but their effectiveness is also limited. Those with true conviction, the bloodline of the Yu clan and a medium can use chant this. Even though I am weak, the jade book itself is a strong medium, so I was able to chant this blessing.

Your body was nourished with a strong vitality, strengthening you in all ways. Unfortunately, it doesn't extend the lifespan, it only allowed you to keep your power close to your peak until your last moments…"
